Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: Im a XXXX from XXXX and I arrived here in the United States on XX/XX/2022. I tried looking for a credit card that doesnt need credit scores in order for me to apply since I havent established yet because Im new here in US XXXX My friends recommended Discover credit card and I tried that one. The application was easy, they just ask for gross annual income, monthly rent, and personal information, then youre approved already. The arrival of the credit card was prompt, upon acquiring it, I immediately activated it to start building credit score. After a week, I received a call and an email that I need to provide them a notarized form and a 3 month bank statement, which obviously I dont have since Im new here in the US , so I cant comply with that. I told them that I arrived XXXX of XXXX this year, so I thought I will be given consideration, but unfortunately they sticked to their deadline, leaving me no choice but to close the account. But before closing, I paid the pending payment. I asked them if this will affect my credit score, they dont know. They said I should just call the credit bureau, but I dont have any idea with that. As a newcomer in a foreign land, Im quite nervous since it might affect my credit score and unable to apply for other companies or banks because of that scenario. My friends also face this unfortunate case. I hope this will be resolved soon and give peace of mind to us new XXXX here in the United States. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Had {$2500.00} deposited into the account and then the next day the balance was {$1.00}. Someone had hacked into my account and charged items that I didn't approve or know about. The money was recovered and is in my account but Discover debit card company will not let me have the money for 90 days. This money was for a very important transaction that needed to be made. I have requested many times for a statement to be mailed to me as I can no longer login. I only know about the money is everyday I get a text message stating how much money is in the account. Discover makes you hold on the phone for up to 2 hours and then says that it is the wrong department and puts you on hold again. Please check on this as I REALLY need that money. Thanks, XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have a credit card account XXXX ( please refer to my XXXX Credit report attached below ) in my name with Discover and XX/XX/2022 I notice my credit score drop by several points. It continues to report to XXXX and XXXX. I called discover several times regarding this issue in XXXX and was told to that they are reporting the card to XXXX and it's an issue in their system and wait until the XXXX to see if it reports since I did report that the card was stolen the end of XXXX I believe. I also called XXXX and was told they will begin to report the new card number in XXXX. The card still isn't reporting as of today and when I speak to Discover they direct me to contact XXXX and when I speak to XXXX they direct me to speak with Discover. I have paid my bill on time since have the account for XXXX years and attempting to close on a home in XX/XX/2022 so this is impacting me tremendously and would like to get this matter resolved.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: On Thursday XX/XX/2022, I was informed by Discover Card by email, that my account was frozen. There was no other information or explanation given for the closing other than it was a business decision. I called the phone number given to me on email and I waited 2 hours for someone in security and never spoke to anyone. I called back later and was given no more information. I demanded to speak to a supervisor and was told I must wait 24 to 48 hours for a callback. It has been 24 hours and no callback. I have a company and all my funds are in that account.I was told It would take 60 days before I would have access to those funds. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I have no access to that account, the statements, the transactions and no explanation as to why. Please contact me ASAP
