Consumer Complaint: Item was bought XXXX/XXXX. Received the product XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX I filed a dispute for an item I received and was not up to par with what they claim with discover. Waited 30 days and reached back out on XX/XX/XXXX and was told theyre still investigating and letting the merchant have XXXX days to respond and I need to let the case play out. Was told I can call back in a week. I called back XX/XX/XXXX and was told that the case expired XX/XX/XXXX and the merchant still had not responded and the dispute was ruled in my favor. Fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX I got an email saying the dispute was charged back and deemed valid and that I needed documentation that the merchant agreed to refund me my money to my discover card with the last XXXX digits of my discover card. Discover does not want to accept an appeal and say they need that documentation to move forward.

Their online help chat service doesn't help, says I can only call discover. For a week, at various times of day, the service says it'll be 3+hours of waiting to speak to a representative. Like clockwork, at the 2 hour mark I'm hung up on. I'm locked out of an account I have bills tied to and Discover doesn't provide any means for me to fix the issue they created. My account is being held hostage

Consumer Complaint: Discover Bank instead of completing an investigation is engaging in illegal retaliatory tactics and trying to punish me and I would guess other consumers as well for exercising rights under FCRA, this account information is older than 7 years old, Discover also illegal allowed me under XXXX to open this account and gave me a credit limit they were very well aware that I would not be able to afford paying back. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX and this account is older than 7 years, if I still need to be held accountable for this maybe we should also go back 7 years and investigate why Discover thought it was appropriate to give an XXXX XXXX XXXX still in XXXX XXXX a credit limit of {$1000.00}. I have filed a complaint at XXXX XXXX XXXX as well as they are now making my credit scores drop with their predatory practices. There is no outstanding balance on this account either.
