When I provided the last four digits of my social security number and birthdate, the representative informed me that my birthdate did not match the application. She then informed me that the account was closed due to fraud and it was noted to forward my calls to a specific representative assigned to my case.

Consumer Complaint: The issue is two fold. The first problem started with an authorized ACH withdrawal of {$60000.00} from my Discover XXXX Account on XX/XX/2022. I saw the charge the day of and immediately went to work trying to get ahold of Discover Financial Services XXXX team to report the Fraud and get the investigation going to meet any reporting timelines. This is where the second issue starts. I've been on hold for hours and the Discover XXXX Team will not answer. Each time after hours of holding the call then drops. As a military service member I don't have the free time to continually make these phone calls and wait. I have the phone call records to show the times and duration of the calls. I've reached out on Discover 's secure message center as well. I also have come to understand this is not a new issue with Discover 's banking side and that multiple people have reported similar issues.

Consumer Complaint: I recently opened a Checking Account with Discover bank, and it was working fine for the past few weeks, but when I logged into the mobile app today, it said that my account was locked and I would need to contact their customer support to have a resolution. I have been trying to call them every day for the past 3 days, but they have been saying there is a 3+ hour wait time. I tried waiting the 3 hours on 7 different occasions, and every single time the system automatically ended the call with no response on the other side. I have no choice but to file a complaint with the FDIC. I have all my money in that checking account, and Discover has disabled all access to that account & there is no support available to respond to lifting the freeze. I checked online, and MANY other customers are also experiencing this similar type of issue. No callback, no response from them. Please advise on how I will be able to recover my money from this dreadful institution, and go about banking with a different institution. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX Credit Report contacted me to avail to a free Trail for a month. I tried but they asked for a Credit Card before I can start. I gave my Discover Credit Card. XXXX XXXX XXXX is very inconvenient and it does not work. So I canceled it, This was at the height of the Covid Pandemic. I got infected with XXXX and was XXXX, then I suffered from XXXX XXXX and still is suffering from XXXX XXXX. I am taking a lot of medicines which keeps me drowsy and feeling lousy ad sickly all the time coupled with XXXX from taking XXXX Drugs. The reason that I was not checking the charges of my Discover Card. I am a XXXX old proud Retired XXXX XXXX XXXX that was making good money and was my paying 20 % taxes. Being retired and my Social Security Retirement Pension is barely enough to survive. I am being abused by these scammers- XXXX Credit Report which has affected my Quality of Life. I have a lot of charges in my Discover Credit Card due to these Illegal Charges. I already filed a complaint with Discover who credit back the monthly charges, but later on, Discover recharged my account again siding with XXXX. I called Discover and filed a Dispute, but they will recharged these XXXX Charges again. Please help me. This is a scam and also a Seniors Citizens Abuse. Thank You so much! XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: My first call to Discover was on XX/XX/22, a couple of days after I noticed that my checking and savings account was frozen. Since then, I have called a total of XXXX times, 6 of those calls being over 3 hours. I have spent a collective 20 hours on hold since XX/XX/22. After 3 hours and 2 minutes, the line get disconnected. Consumer Complaint: I own a Savings accounts with the Discover Bank. In the past two weeks, my account was locked without access with no reason provided. In several attempts between XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX to resolve the issue with Discover Bank, the customer service from phone calls claimed that such issues would be handled by their security team. However, in several attempts to call the number XXXX, each time I would be put on hold for more than 2 hours without being answered in their claimed " working hours '', in at least 4 attempts all together spanning the past two weeks. The direct impact of this sudden, un-documented account freezing is that our external transfer to another bank has been rejected, which has caused significant disturbance to our financial plans. Thereby, I request that CFPB to urge the Discover Bank to take immediate action in resolving the issue.
