Consumer Complaint: I received a notification from Discover that I had possible eligibility in a Discover XXXX XXXX 2 % rebate program. I called in to ask and was told I was eligible for the smaller of two loans ( or about a {$40.00} rebate ). Unrelated to this inquiry, I was told that the reason I was not eligible for the larger loan is because I chose a fixed rate and not a variable rate. This sure feels a lot like steering. At any rate, I was told I was win fact eligible but I then needed to provide proof of XXXX. I did that after much searching through old photos as I was overseas. I was then told today via secure message that now I'm ineligible. But no reason was given. I called in and asked why. Then I was told that I XXXX too long ago. Then I was told that my claim was too long from the date of XXXX Then after being put on hold a long time, I was told that now my loan was disbursed too soon to when I actually XXXX Frankly, I should be paid 2 % back on both loans since I took out loans, paid them back, and XXXX
