Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I am filing a complaint cause I have had my account used by someone that is not authorized or known. In the month of XXXX I had noticed a lot of charges on my account. I had about 5 authorize users on the account that are close and trusted family members. I was not able to get a hold of everyone at the same time so I placed a lock on the account. One of my authorized users XXXX XXXX was in the middle of purchasing a vehicle with XXXX and all my users have my log in info to see transactions. He unlocked the card to proceed with the XXXX down payment and he said he attempted to lock the card again but was having issues. by the time we spoke more charges went on the account. I let discover know the situation they gave me credit and en of XXXX decided to say I'm responsible for the charges cause the card was unlocked. And the situation was as I stated above. I told them what were the valid charges and they have refused to give me credit Since then I removed all my users to prevent something like this happening again

Consumer Complaint: I bought a ticket to XXXX through XXXX XXXX XXXX for XXXX XXXX XXXX it cost roughly XXXX. I used my Discover Credit Card this was in XX/XX/2020. During this time they instituted the XXXX ban and I was not able to go because of the restrictions. I wanted a refund since this was told to us all in advance. XXXX moths before my flight was even scheduled. I let XXXX XXXX XXXX know that I wanted my money back and they never gave me a credit. After waiting a year and run around I went to Discover Card to get my money back since XXXX XXXX XXXX was not allowing me. They gave me credit for my purchase and ensured me I wasnt going to be charged for a flight I never went on. Then a few months later after their investigation they charged me again for the ticket. This has since made my credit card go over my credit limit and I have had to put the account on a payment plan. How is it XXXX stuck paying this when I never went on this trip and it was canceled all together due to the COVID restriction not allowing any outsiders inside their XXXX

Consumer Complaint: The status of these accounts reporting is an inaccurate account, from dates when the account was open, reported dates, dates of last active, date of last payment, and reporting charged off which is a violation of 15 U.S. Code 1681e ( b ). If your company has filled out a 1099c form and is continuing any kind of collection activity as defined under 31 U.S. Code 3711 ( e ) by performing any of the following conduct ; administrative offset, tax refund offset, referral to private collection contractors, referral to agencies operating a debt collection center, reporting delinquencies to the credit reporting agencies, garnishing wages, pursuing litigation or foreclosure, you are committing tax fraud and should be reported to the IRS for a fraudulent financial gain. Also, 1099-C must be mailed to consumers. I did not receive anything which is a violation. As defined by the IRS, even if you didnt receive a Form 1099-C, you MUST report Canceled Debt as gross income on your tax return, according to the IRS. For an account to be Charged Off, the debt had to have been Canceled. Canceled Debt must be reported as Gross Income on a tax return. Its illegal to report income to my consumer report. Companies that mark accounts as charged off take advantage of 1099c forms and deem it a profit loss, meaning they collect from the IRS. It is illegal to collect from the IRS and still attempt to collect from the consumer/individual. The reported balance of these accounts is inaccurate, and the agency is to comply by blocking and deleting these accounts from my reports as they do not, and never have had my written consent to report these listings ( Violation of 15 USC 1681b ).

Consumer Complaint: Someone has been using my personal information to attempt to open credit card accounts and to take out personal loans. I was made aware through fraud alerts by XXXX XXXX and Discover on XXXX that someone tried to open new credit cards in my name. After looking closely at my credit report, I saw an incorrect phone number and several hard inquiries that I did not authorize ( Discover : XXXX, XXXX ; XXXX XXXX : XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ) XXXX I believe whoever is trying to steal my identity may have also submitted a Change of Address for me as tracking for a recently ordered package indicates that it is being forwarded somewhere instead of delivered to my home address.

Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I called Discover due to declined charges. As I was shopping, I learned that my payment was past due {$230.00}. I asked the representative to process a payment of {$240.00}, where I was advised that even if there was a payment made, the card could not be unlocked until the next business day. I admit, I was quite frustrated because of the inconvenience of the denial and the embarrassment, considering my credit limit. Additionally, I was already in the store attempting to make a purchase. While speaking to a rep who was only able to assist to a certain extent. I then requested to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor did not come off very helpful. In that moment, I requested to speak to her superior. The supervisor told me there was no one higher than her. With more dissatisfaction overcoming me, I requested that the account be closed. I assumed that the lender would have some type of retention resolution in conjunction with regard for the relationship that has be established. As well as my proven payment history. However, that was disregarded. During said call, as the supervisor was reading her disclaimer the call was disconnected. I called back to learn that my account was already closed. In this complaint, the goal is for my account to be reinstated, with the exact limit in which was granted to me. My account can be reviewed to see that I have a great payment history. Furthermore, I would like a coaching opportunity to occur with the representative/supervisor. I do believe that there should have been some type of retention resolution which I was not granted. I believe that a seasoned/assertive representative/supervisor would have afforded me this in efforts to resolve this call with first time quality resolution
