After discovery I contacted creditor to make aware of the fraud. I advised them of the identity theft. They then proceeded to close the card to prevent it from further use. At this time, I contacted the bureaus to have them aware of this. Consumer Complaint: I reviewed my yearly free XXXX credit report on XX/XX/2023. I noticed the company Discover Financial Services was making a " soft inquiry '' on my account every month, for almost the past two years!! I have never applied for one of their credit cards. I do not have an account with them. I have no idea why they chose my account ( how many people are they doing this to? ) I called Discover Financial @ XXXX. I patiently had them connect me 4 times to 4 different people regarding my request to cease making unsolicited inquiries on my account. I also wanted to know why they are doing this. They said I needed to call XXXX. They would not assist me further. XXXX @ XXXX stated I would need to put a " freeze '' on my total credit account only to be opened with legitimate inquiries later with a " PIN code. '' They could not help me with the request to have this company cease and desist with soft inquiries monthly. I am thinking XXXX receives funds from the company to allow them to do this, and this may be the motivation to continue this practice that feels like an invasion of privacy. Can you help??

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: In and about 2-3 weeks ago my credit monitoring service indicated a credit card company had closed my account. Upon closer examination, it turned out to be my Discover credit card. I called Discover about them closing my account and why they closed it. They informed me that it was due to inactivity. I informed them I received no notice of this action and they informed me that I should have received prior notice which I havent. The account had no balance and all prior payments were made satisfactory and never late. I requested they restore my account and they informed me that they would have to run my credit in order to do so. I feel that that was unfair and that I may report that practice. Ive had this credit card for over 10 years with no issues.

Consumer Complaint: My identity was stolen due to XXXX XXXX and discover cards sending prequalified letters to old addresses that I do not live at anymore because of this they were successful in opening a discover account in my name on XX/XX/XXXX and attempted to open another credit card with XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX since then my credit profiles have all been frozen. Because of this I have 2 hard inquiries one from discover and one from XXXX XXXX I do not have any active accounts with either of them and never had an account with neither of them I contacted XXXX XXXX they said they couldnt do anything because I have never had an account with them. These inquiries should come off my credit report in XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX XXXX. At this time I have time sensitive applications. So I need them removed as soon as possible. After I receive some type of letter of deletion or confirmation from both discover and XXXX XXXX I can prove to the credit bureaus these inquiries do not belong to me
