Subissue: Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Consumer Complaint: I financed the car through a dealership in XXXX of 2018 that was crooked. There were many issues with the car and I tried giving the car back but to no avail. I called credit acceptance several times to have my payments lowered because they kept adding on fees I have no idea how and they would not explain it to me. In addition to giving me the running around and telling me something different ever time I called. This whole situation has put me through suffering and damages to my credit and livelihood. And has been truly a nightmare.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: This particular account situation that is lately filing on my own credit document has a seriously unfavorable relation to my personal ability to obtain a present loan application. I highly recommend you generate verification that Credit Union has been reported completely in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act regulations, it's really a serious problem to misreport. More confirmation of the aforesaid item too. My proper request must over, I was never 30 days/60 days/120 days late in any of my payments and I'm not greatly tuned in to the date opened so I prefer to ask you be investigated as soon as possible and confirmed to be correct. Thanks!

Issue: Problems at the end of the loan or lease
Subissue: Unable to receive car title or other problem after the loan is paid off
Consumer Complaint: I did not have the best of credit, my score was about 630. I had originated a loan XX/XX/XXXX on a XXXX XXXX XXXX with Credit Acceptance, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX, MI. XXXX The loan document shows the amount financed was XXXX, at an APR of 22.99 % for a total finance charge of {$10000.00} for a term of 66 months, the monthly payment being XXXX with the first payment due XX/XX/XXXX. I have made my payments and have had no problems until I was involved in an auto accident on Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX. I even made my regular vehicle payment to Credit Acceptance in the amount on {$380.00}, on Friday XX/XX/XXXX. I regularly paid more than my monthly payment. On Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX The XXXX Insurance adjuster declared the vehicle a Total Loss and the at fault drivers insurance company, XXXX has issued a market value total loss payment check, made entirely payable to Credit Acceptance on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$9300.00}. Credit AcceptancXXXX has generated a letter on XX/XX/XXXX. Stating they received an insurance check and made no reference to how much the check they received was for. They also claim I owe money on the loan since I did not have GAP insurance. No amounts given on the letter I have never received ANY telephone contact communication until XX/XX/XXXX, when I returned their missed call. Now they call every day, several times a day trying to collect a " deficiency amount '' that changes on EVERY phone call. It's insanity. My contract states a loan for XXXX, with a 22.99 % APR. It states the total finance charge would be {$10000.00}. For a total of payments being {$25000.00}. They credited only {$4800.00} finance charge rebate, which I find odd as there are 41 months left on the loan, The math does not add up, they FLAT OUT told me I'm not entitled to an accounting of how they arrived at the finance charge rebate. They threatened to RUIN my credit, The offered an {$800.00} pay in full settlement on Monday XX/XX/XXXX. When they called me on Friday XX/XX/XXXX the offer was {$900.00}. And they'll help me get another car. The joke is ON them, I have already purchased another car and I'm paying much less interest thanks to the timely payments of the car and several credit cards my credit score has gone up significantly since my original loan with Credit Acceptance.

Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls
Consumer Complaint: Repeated calls by CREDIT ACCEPTANCE CORP. 5+ daily even when given times and dates that are unacceptable to call durring Cold call, provide no verification they are CREDIT ACCEPTANCE CORP when asking for personally identifiable information. when asking for verification of debt, I'm asked if I would like my number removed from their system instead of complying with request. Trick/Ask without prompting or guidance if the consumer would like their number removed from their system to initiate a legal process which typically starts once a consumer asks to not be contacted. will cold call, lie about payment dates and arrangements made then hang up once given dates and times of said agreements. Does not record all phone calls, Blocks recordings from being accessed by employees to verify agreements made or cancelled. Deletes/wont acknowledge phone calls with given dates to verifiy agreements. Says they dont exist and then hang up. Calls roughly every 40 minutes from different numbers all marked by XXXX XXXX as high risk / spam calls.

Subissue: Information belongs to someone else
Consumer Complaint: Yesterday XX/XX/19 ..I discovered that their was a new debt collection on my credit it said that it opened XX/XX/2019 & it went to collection XX/XX/2019..so I contacted this creditor & after being transferred to multiple departments & giving different numbers to call, no one could find any information that I owed anything! Because I do not ..this is fraudulent & I want it removed immediately! They could not give me any information, they said they didn't have any to give so I asked why is this showing as a collection XX/XX/19? So they directed me to their fraud department. I want to get to the bottom of this & resolve!
