Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance Corporation has notated on my credit report that it was a Repossession/Foreclosure. That information is incorrect I never had a Foreclosure I never own any property. However, if I was to use my GI Bill and to purchase a home the word Florclosure could prevent me from purchasing a home. As a matter of fact, it is preventing me from purchasing a home. I would like Credit Acceptance Corp to remove the word Florclosure from my credit report because it's misleading it seems like I could have had a Foreclosure when I had a repossession. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: Credit acceptance was paid in 2018 after an accident. Insurance paid total loss of car. This account was closed. The company is committing fraud by keeping account open and still accumulated charges after debt and amount was settled. They are providing false information stating account is open and they are still charging m9nthly charges when the car was sold to Insurance company. Credit acceptance agreed to amount check was issued. The company has been performing abusive acts by false reporting each month and past harassing collection calls

Consumer Complaint: My daughter and I bought a used XXXX XXXX and financed it through Credit Acceptance Corp. Shortly after my husband passed away and my daughter and I had to downsize on vehicles due to loss of husbands income. We voluntarily returned the car. At that point, we could not pay for the vehicle. We had on our credit report that the account received a payment of XXXX after they got car back. So that should have dropped the amount we owed them way down. It was considered closed on XX/XX/XXXX. But since then they have kept adding charges and fees to the account each month. I am talking like anywhere from XXXX to XXXX a month. The current balance says we owe them over XXXX but as of XX/XX/XXXX our balance was XXXX so how could we keep getting charges for the vehicle? I have been trying to dispute this on my credit report for two years. I keep getting the response of Info is accurate and then BAM more charges show up. I have checked with the XXXX and they have hundreds of complaints about this company. They actually have an F rating. One lady 's comment was basically the same as my complaint. My daughters name is even spelled incorrectly on the contract. I am trying to get my life back together and was informed I cant buy a house or rent a house because of this account. I really need some help. I have contacted the Attorney General of NC about this and they sent letter to XXXX XXXX but got no response within the 15 days given to them to respond. HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance purposely reports erroneous and damaging information about their customers to credit bureaus. I am a co-signer on a vehicle with my son that was purchased in XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an alert from XXXX that Credit Acceptance reported the account 30 days past due as of XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX was the month the last payment on the loan was due. The company was contacted, and a request was made to remove the inaccurate reporting. They were again uncooperative. As of XX/XX/XXXX, the payment due on the account was {$380.00}. As of XX/XX/XXXX, the balance owed on the account was {$660.00}. As of XX/XX/XXXX, the loan pay-off quote amount was {$440.00}. The payoff amount was good through XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX a payment in the amount of {$240.00} was made on the account. On XX/XX/XXXX a payment in the amount of {$200.00} was made on the account. On XX/XX/XXXX a payment in the amount of {$440.00} + {$3.00} processing fee was made and the loan was paid off in full. On XX/XX/XXXX, Credit Acceptance reported the account 180 days past due when it was not. In XXXX, Credit Acceptance reported the account past due twice to the credit bureaus. We've had constant issues with this predatory lender Credit Acceptance. Multiple times throughout the financing period, we've disputed their practice of reporting erroneous and damaging information to the credit bureaus. We've filed disputes with them to which some they did not respond to until after it was submitted more than once. After all of this effort, their responses have never included account records or any other data to that prove their status reporting as accurate. Filing disputes through the credit bureaus is even less effective. Credit bureaus appear to have no interest in protecting consumers or ensuring companies respond truthfully. After the onset of the COVID shutdown my son lost his job. He contacted Credit Acceptance and made a payment arrangement that modified the monthly amount due. This arrangement was called COVID Protected Status and it was fully adhered to. At the end of XX/XX/XXXX, Credit Acceptance sent an email notifying their intent to expire the COVID arrangements with account holders in less than 30 days. They instructed account holders to contact them to make arrangements or remit the remaining balance due in full for the period of the payment arrangement. My son contacted them as instructed and established new payment arrangements to continue the modified the monthly amount due. Neither time, did Credit Acceptance send out written notification confirming the arrangements, or the " COVID Protected Status ''. The customer only had the verbal confirmation of the representative they spoke with to go on. Credit Acceptance refuses to put agreements and arrangements in writing for the consumer/account holder 's records. We've encountered problems with inconsistencies with the information about the account including payment postings and payment arrangements. When we request the information which they call " notes on the account '' they often stonewall us and have even claimed the information could not be provided. This practice makes it difficult to hold them accountable. They also do not make their notes or any other information available for the customer to see when reviewing their account online. You can only view payments through a certain point in time. They also falsely claimed they had installed a kill switch in the vehicle to disable it if payment was made.

Consumer Complaint: Opened a used car loan. Moved to XXXX az in XXXX. Made every payment ontime until XX/XX/XXXX. Car broke. And I could not fix. Am a single mother with XXXX children at the time. Had to voluntarily return car. I knew this would affect my credit report. However. For 6 years it showed XXXX balance paid in full and account was showing closed showing as a charge off. I was very confused by this. Then in XX/XX/XXXX the company began reporting derogatory showing a sudden balance account open account in repossession and a negative payment history. Disputed several times with credit agencies Never was i communicated with by this company. Never was an effort made to settle debt. Never was any information given about the car being sold and the remainder i would owe. Just suddenly derogatry reporting. And every month it would changes different aspects of the item. All this drastically affected my score. Where as had they reported honestly and appropriately from the begining my score would have been affected in a less devastating manner. Then the continuous negative and inaccurate changes every month continued to harm my score. How can a report go from closed to open to chargeoff to in repossession and around again changing. Affecting my score. Now says settled. All this not ever once contacting me. How was this settled and why was this changed over and over again? Is this fraudulent can a company be allowed to 1 not communicate an attempt to collect a debt 2 continuous changing of balance and status and history?

Consumer Complaint: This account is closed as of XXXX have reported late payments every month to be credit reports for the last 4 and 1/2 years. I do not have this vehicle. When calling this company they refuse to connect me to an associate they refer me to a collection agency that NEVER answers the phone. If I'm being referred to a collection agency anytime I call WHY IS THIS ACCOUNT STILL OPEN ON MY CREDIT REPORT. Its been referred to XXXX XXXX so why is this still open? No one at credit acceptance will speak to me and I can not contact anybody at XXXX XXXX. This needs to be placed as a repo or closed account. To report to my credit every month as a missed payment is outrageous when I do not have this vehicle.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Lender trying to repossess or disable the vehicle
Consumer Complaint: Hello, Earlier this year I had financed a vehicle at the XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX Oklahoma. They did not follow Truth-in-Lending requirements. I asked " can you explain to me how your APR works ''? their response to me was ; " you can probably explain it better than I can ''. Being I wanted my truck back I nodded along. There is also a requirement that I have the mouse in my hand checking boxes in the financial document while the finical officer of the company explains things to me. The credit company that did accept me as a new client to provide financing for me loan was Credit Acceptance Company. I contacted them after I had made 3 monthly on time payments. I was even making mid-term payments. I asked them " can you help me with licensing this vehicle so I do not have dealer tags on it, and can legally drive it around with my full-coverage insurance ''? I then went on to further explain to the person from credit acceptance company I was speaking with the something I explained in the previous paragraph of this complaint. The person on the phone in a low tone apologized to me, and cleared this transaction, and credit look up from ever taken place on my credit history. This is the time I called the dealership XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX Oklahoma. The dealership told me they were having troubles locating the title for my vehicle. I played phone tag for about a week. My mother was the previous title holder. Her and I drove to the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( Oklahoma version of DMV ), and we preformed a title exchange there claiming the truck as a gift because there was no money exchanged between her and I. I have a title from the state of Oklahoma that has my name, and my name alone on it. This truck is legally mine now. XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX is claiming to have a mechanic 's lien on my vehicle in my dad 's name because he is the person who traded the truck in. How do they have a lien on a vehicle that is in someone else 's name? My conclusion that being the truck is mine, and XXXX XXXX violated consumer protection laws via not explaining all the elements of the loan contract to me. I mentioned that I was interested in finance to the person conversationally, and suddenly they no longer need to explain elements of the contract to me? Being I am poor I would love it if I could receive some kind of assistance to make XXXX XXXX learn that when the form says the client has to check the box ; the client has to check the box. I also feel I should have had some kind of official summons been severed by an officer of the law with a legal document as they occasionally due in their line of work. Thank you for your time and considerations, XXXX XXXX.
