Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I'm XXXX XXXX, I need your Help in contacting this company. I made an effort to contact them to find out who had opened an account in my name and why. I'm disappointed that this serious problem is now affecting my credit score. I don't allow anybody to use my name, birthdate, or any other details since it also violates data privacy. They need to identify the person who opened the account in my name and give them the data rather than me. Kindly help me in resolving this.

The balance is wrong. This account was closed XX/XX/XXXX in court. Case # is XXXX. Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance has violated my consumer right to privacy although I have made them aware that I did not and do not consent to the sharing of my nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties. They have furnished this account on my consumer report. They have violated my rights and multiple federal laws. 15 USC 6801 protects my right to privacy. 15 USC 6802, and 6803 obligate Credit Acceptance to provide me with the opt-out disclosures and obligate them to comply with my choice to opt out of the sharing of my nonpublic information. I have sent multiple complaints through the CFPB regarding this issue. I also sent an Affidavit of Truth to Credit Acceptance on XX/XX/XXXX. They have failed to rebut this Affidavit of Truth and instead responded with a " template '' on XX/XX/XXXX. Credit Acceptance claim this " template '' is a model for what they claim to have sent to me on XX/XX/XXXX. Credit Acceptance has provided nothing but hearsay. I also contacted the Maryland XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX about this situation. Credit Acceptance responded with the same " template '' that they sent to me. They only sent this " template '' after receiving my Affidavit of Truth with Exhibits which included a copy of the letter they sent to me on XX/XX/XXXX. Credit Acceptance responded they have not obtained a copy of this letter that they claimed to have sent to me on XX/XX/XXXX. I rebutted this response with the Maryland XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX but I have yet to receive a response from Credit Acceptance. Furthermore, Credit Acceptance has failed to comply with the Cease and Desist that I sent to them on XX/XX/XXXX. I requested they cease ALL communication. The furnishing of this account on my consumer report is " communication ''. See Attachments.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted Credit Acceptance Corporation regarding an account that I do not own. I was a victim of identity theft and there were some fraudulent accounts opened up under my name. I have provided documentation such as the FTC report and Police Report which states all relevant information. The company refuses to comply with the legal documentation and is falsely reporting a fraudulent account on my credit reports which is giving me living hardships for a home and a car.

Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Consumer Complaint: Originally XX/XX/XXXX I was supposed to co-sign for a car loan, XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, NJ XXXX deceived me into signing a contract in my name as full owner. Loan Contract started XX/XX/XXXX with Credit Acceptance Corporation, the next day I tried to call into the customer service to rescind the contract and was told yes only if the auto lot would agree. They disagreed even though I had been complaining that the car was already giving trouble, reported as electrical issues, I tried to file it as a lemon. Fast forward the driver which was the real owner of the vehicle who had been making all the payments to credit acceptance through her bank account contacts Credit acceptance about payment arrangements due to loss of employment. Finally one representative called me XXXX asking for a payment I explained although car was signed by me I was not the physical owner XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and had no way of making payments. Covid 19 comes in and payments are put on hold due to pandemic, the arrangements that was made with the driver at the time were then rescinded. I reached out to Credit acceptance asking that payment history be emailed or mailed to me ( XXXX XXXX ) and was never received accurate information. Never contacted via mail or phone call and then Repossession of vehicle around XX/XX/XXXX took place. after a vehicle is in the possession of a finance company, there are at least two notices required ; The initial notice is a Notice of Resale Date was never sent. Per my Credit acceptance contractGetting the Vehicle Back After Repossession. If We repossess the Vehicle, You have the right to pay to get it back ( redeem ) at any time before We sell, lease, license or otherwise dispose of any or all of the Vehicle in its present condition or following any commercially reasonable preparation or processing. XXXX balance reported {$7300.00} to {$7500.00} XXXX balance went from {$11000.00} decreasing to {$6800.00}. Under section entitled 9 A ten percent ( 10 % ) penalty per month shall be added to a refund that is not paid or credited within forty-five ( 45 ) days after return of the service contract to the provider. Now credit acceptance is adding late fees and every month reporting inaccurate balances that I owe, without contacting me about the balance that was owed after the resale of the vehicle that was not in a condition to be sold.
