Consumer Complaint: During the pandemic my company cut back hours and unfortunatelyshut down due to Covid. I lost income, therefore I contacted credit acceptance the company I had a car loan through. To make payment arrangements which I continue to keep up, if I couldnt I would contact them to modify the arrangement. My vehicle I finance through credit acceptance was almost paid off. Well XXXX night I was awakened to a loud sound coming out my yard. It was my vehicle which I financed through credit acceptance being repossessed, snatched out of my yard without any notice. Credit acceptance did not contacting me giving me any information that they would repossess my car before repossession. After communicating and making payment arrangements with them I trusted they would do the right thing. My vehicle was nearly paid off. I have been without a vehicle every sense. Credit acceptance have put a ridiculous dollar amount and Put voluntary repossession on my credit to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX and that not the truth.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I purchased the XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXXXXXX XXXX in XXXX MD. It is financed through Credit Acceptance Corporation. The purchase price was roughly {$18000.00}. 10 months later, as in today, XX/XX/XXXX, the vehicle price has almost doubled. I know owe over {$32000.00} on this vehicle. After much research, there are 3 recalls on these cars, as well. Specifically, my car had a recall on the airbags. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. I feel like I am going to be stuck in this vehicle for life and I feel as though Credit Acceptance practices predatory lending especially to the impoverished and uneducated. Modern day snake oil salesmen/corporation/company . Reading all the consumer complaints, etc. I feel as though I've been sentenced to a death loan. Meaning I will be paying this vehicle off until I die, or I will die in this vehicle because of the recall. This is completely unfair and as a consumer the amount of information presented to " just sign '' is overwhelming. Credit Acceptance is a death trap. Do NOT finance with them.

Consumer Complaint: Credit Acceptance has been improperly reporting missed payments every month to the credit agencies which is hurting my credit horribly. I had a repo back in XXXX due to the pandemic I had got laid off and couldn't afford my payments anymore. They took my car and then sold it and I still owed a little over 5k. From then till now they are now stating that I owe {$11000.00} and counting as it is increasing every month which I do not know why as they have not communicated anything with me. I believe they are not being fair by charging me over double the original amount owed after the repossession was made and now they are not only hurting my credit but affecting my life as I an unable to apply for certain things due to this account. This company has repeatedly abused the rights to every customer they have or had. As you can verify they have even been sued many times for violating peoples rights and most of whom are minorities just like me. This is wrong, unfair, and unjust to charge someone over double of what they owe in an unjustifiably, and abusive manner.

Vehicle was purchased for {$7300.00} in XXXX, AZ in XX/XX/XXXX. After interest and fees the overall cost of the vehicle was {$9600.00}. Credit Acceptance Corporation reported XX/XX/XXXX that my remaining balance is {$15000.00}. I have reached out numerous times via letters and phone calls and have received no answers or solutions to this problem. With the corruption that their prior CEO was just found guilty of and the millions of dollars in pay outs they were forced to pay, this is clearly a company that isnt trustworthy and will manipulate the public to achieve a financial goal. The account you are reporting is identified as a ''repossession, yet you continue to report late payments. Since the vehicle is no longer in my possession, it would be impossible for me to default on payments after the fact. I have the right to an accurate credit file and discrepancies like this are unacceptable. Please immediately remove this account in its entirety from my credit file.

So combined I was overcharged {$5300.00} plus the sales tax, finance charges and whatever other fees came from it.
