Under 15 U.S. Code 1681i, Paragraph ( 5 ) Treatment of Inaccurate or Unverifiable Informatio In general. If, after any reinvestigation under paragraph ( 1 ) of any information disputed by a consumer, an item of the information is found to be inaccurate or incomplete or can not be verified, the consumer reporting agency shall- ( i ) promptly delete 15 USC 1681 Section 602 States I have the right to privacy. 15 USC 1681 Section 604 A Section 2 : It also states a consumer reporting agency can not furnish a account without my written instructions. 15 U.S. Code 1681a - Definitions ; rules of construction - Exclusions.-Except as provided in paragraph the term " consumer report '' does not include-any report containing information solely as to transactions or experiences between the consumer and the person making the report ; it is also my understanding that Under the FCRA 15 U.S.C. 5 1681i, every single one even each any or all of the unproven, non-compliant, incomplete, untrue, incorrect, and or unverified aspects of any alleged derogatory accounts must be promptly negated in its entirety or the alleged accounts are to be completely deleted.

Consumer Complaint: The debt collector CONVERGENT OUTSOURCING opened a collection account in XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, this account was closed in XX/XX/XXXX due to XXXX mobile processing and charging fraudulent fees for the second time ( the first time was on for over {$600.00} which were withdrawn from my bank account ). XXXX XXXX continued to issue statements which I was never sent until XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX with various and inconsistent charges. Even at this time when I try to access the statements an error occurs on the website. There was no usage of the account/lines during that time, I do see some phone calls and messages that I suspect were place by XXXX XXXX themselves as the phones were turned off when the account was closed. Credits were due which were supposed to finish paying for the equipments but none of this happened. The debt collection agency never contacted me, I was made aware of this collection upon reviewing my credit report. I live in North Carolina, and under General Statutes 58-70-115 ( 4 ). Unfair practices. The debt collection agency was issuing false threats and claims as the statute of limitations had expired and they were not allowed to sue, under this same statute any attempt to collect this debt was barred due to the statute of limitations.

Consumer Complaint: For years, when I lived in XXXX XXXX I had a landline number from XXXX : XXXX. My wife and I had XXXX monthly charge for this line set up on autopay with XXXX. Every month, XXXX would charge the billed amount to our XXXX XXXX ending in XXXX. It was usually around {$28.00} per month. We opted for electronic billing, so my wife would receive an email detailing the charge. We never got paper bills from XXXX. Part XXXX : Unsuccessful cancelation by XXXX In XXXX of XXXX we moved from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Prior to moving, my wife called XXXX customer service number to cancel the line, which they said they did. As expected, we received a final charge via autopay to XXXX ( and an email ) for our XXXX service in XXXX, XXXX in the amount of {$28.00}, which we paid. However, a month later, in XXXX, XXXX, we received another XXXX charge, for XXXX service, in the amount of {$28.00}. I called XXXX to alert them to the fact that they were still charging us for an account they said they had canceled. They assured me that they would cancel the account properly and there would be no more erroneous charges. We disputed the charge with XXXX, who communicated with XXXX separately, after which their charge was reversed. ( See attachment A. ) From that moment on, XXXX never made automatic charges to our XXXX card, nor did they send us email confirmations for service. So we believed that the service had been successfully canceled. Part XXXX : Receivables XXXX XXXX XXXX effort We never heard from XXXX again until XXXX, XXXX, when we received a forwarded paper bill for {$550.00} for unpaid charges. ( See attachment B. ) Note that we had forwarded all mail from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX of XXXX, and so if XXXX had sent us anything prior to this, we would have received it. I called XXXX to try to understand what this bill was for but since they could not even tell me what account it was connected to, I ignored it. In XXXX of this year ( XXXX ), we were contacted by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, who claimed I owed XXXX {$550.00} in unpaid charges. ( See attachment C. ) I disputed the charge in writing and asked to see proof of money owed from XXXX. ( See attachment D. ) I never received that proof, nor any additional collections notices, so I considered the matter settled. Part XXXX : Convergent Outsourcing collections effort Then, in XXXX of this year ( XXXX ) I received a collections notice from Convergent Outsourcing , Inc. ( See attachment E. ) Again I disputed the charge ( via an online form and via phone call ) and Convergent said they would communicate with XXXX on our behalf. XXXX persisted in their effort to collect money I do not owe them. Over XXXX separate calls with Convergent on the same day ( XX/XX/XXXX ) their representatives gave me conflicting information : At XXXX XXXX Convergent representative ( XXXX XXXX XXXX told me that XXXX sent a final statement of {$550.00} to the old XXXX address after we closed the account in XX/XX/XXXX. If this was true, then what exactly were these charges for? Our monthly bill was an average of {$28.00} and we didnt have any equipment from them to return. At XXXX another Convergent representative ( XXXX XXXX XXXX told me the same day that XXXX claims that we received service until XX/XX/XXXX, when the account was closed. Then she offered me a settlement amount of {$280.00}, but since we dont owe anything to XXXX XXXX I declined the offer. At XXXX a third Convergent representative ( XXXX XXXX XXXX transferred me to account specialist XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX told me he would be requesting a detailed explanation of the charges from XXXX. He also said Federal Law requires proof that I owe them the amount that they claim I do, and if they can not then I should contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to take up the matter with XXXX directly. On XX/XX/XXXX I received correspondence from Convergent claiming to have proof of a valid debt, again in the form of a XXXX bill. ( See attachment F. ) So here I am, asking for your help. Conclusion : Requested remedy A bill is just a bill. It is not proof of a debt owed. It is merely proof that XXXX can generate bills. XXXX has failed to provide service in the form of cancellation, and they have failed to prove that I owe them money. They have not even detailed what these charges are for. I have provided a paper trail showing multiple efforts to cancel our former service with XXXX, and behavior from them that indicates that they understood our desire to cancel. If they failed to properly cancel our service after all these efforts that is not my problem. I have spent, easily, XXXX hours on this issue including todays effort to document this case for you. I can not get that time back but I am hoping that with your help I can stop XXXX from robbing me of my time and energy going forward, and threatening to negatively impact my credit rating. I would like CFPB to tell XXXX to definitively close this matter, to send me proof of closure/resolution, and to stop selling this nonexistent debt to collectors. It is a waste of everyones time and at this point it is harassment. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have about this matter.

Consumer Complaint: I checked my credit score and noticed a bill in collections for {$4900.00}. Called XXXX and figured out the account was not made by me and it is identify theft. The lady I spoke too said the person made the account in XXXX. Ive had no knowledge of it until XXXX when the bill went into collections. She told me to make a police report, which I will do today XX/XX/XXXX and to make a report on this website. I also disputed it through the collections company which is Convergent, but they denied the dispute.

Consumer Complaint: This is a fraudulent account. I do not have an account with Convergent Outsourcing. They have no authority to collect on this account. This matter has been taken care of with the original creditor. There is no contract open or account assigned to Convergent Outsourcing. This account is reporting fraudulently and needs to be removed from my credit file immediately. Sprint was paid directly and agreed on a recorded line to recall the debt and accept payment directly. Sprint informed me that paying Sprint directly for the full balance would terminate Convergent Outsourcings collection authority and this account would be removed from my credit file. I have submitted previous disputes stating this along with proof of payment directly to Sprint. Ive also sent a direct dispute to Sprint which they have not followed up on. This account needs to be removed immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I signed up for XXXX XXXX XXXX internet in XXXX. Agreement was if you cancel and return equipment in the first 30 days there would not be a charged. I cancelled and returned equipment in the 30 day time frame. They have sent me a debt collection through convergent outsourcing debt collection on XX/XX/XXXX. I attempted to contact XXXX customer service and the XXXX home internet department is impossible to get in contact with and they send you back to main menu when you do talk to someone. They are falsely billing me and using illegal tactics to try to make me pay money I do not owe. They have also been sending me bills for {$250.00} that I do not owe In the month of XXXX and XXXX. They are purposely making to where you can not contact them so they can bill me. I do not owe this debt and I disputed it online with convergent outsourcing and sent a dispute by mail on XX/XX/2022.

Consumer Complaint: To whom it XXXX concern, My name is XXXX. Back in XXXX I called XXXX to settle down my account with them. They told me they sold my account to Convergent and I should give them a call. I called and spoke with a guy named XXXX and if I pay within 3 days he will do a pay to delete. He sent me a letter to my email about settling down my account for {$3000.00} and to send the checks overnight so they get in time. I sent them all over night with the following writing on all three of them Endorsement of this check constitutes payment in full. You agree to delete within 30 days from my credit report. They violated my rights by cashing the checks and not deleting the account and by promising they will update and they never did. I called them a week after they cashed them and they told me everything looks good and they will delete and update credit bureaus. They didnt!!! I called them a month later and they told me it takes 60 days to update. Now its been almost 6 months and I sent them letters and they ignore my request. Thats a breach of contract rights. They breached the agreement by still reporting to all credit bureaus that I owe them $ XXXX while we agreed on {$3.00}. How could I owe $ XXXX on an account we agreed to settle for {$3.00}?!?! Not only that but they are reporting incorrect info such as date of last activity, balance owed, last payment, etc! Each credit bureaus has different information and there are inaccuracies among all three bureaus. This means the account has not been properly verified!!
