I had auto pay on my account so they took my money. I canceled my service, and they refused to send me a refund so I disputed the charge. They gave me a XXXX cent courtesy credit so they want {$50.00}. I received a letter from a collection agency today XX/XX/XXXX. {$50.00} is what the collection agency is going after.

Consumer Complaint: I filed a complaint and sent a letter out on XX/XX/2022, to convergent outsourcing, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. My complaint # XXXX. However, it has been more than 30 days and this account has not been deleted from my XXXX account. this is not making any sense being that this account is fraudulent and this company trying to collect this debt isn't even licensed and legally allowed to collect in the state of Florida. 15 U.S.C 1681 section 602 A. States I have the right to privacy. 15 U.S.C 1681 Section 604 A Section 2 : It also states a consumer reporting agency can not furnish an account without my written instructions. As i stated previously Convergent Outsourcing is not licensed/registered to collect in the state of Florida. That is illegal! According to the law U.S. Code 1681i- Procedure in case of disputed accuracy. If the completeness or accuracy of any item of information contained in a consumers file at a consumer reporting agency is disputed by the consumer and the consumer notifies the agency directly or indirectly through a reseller, of such dispute the agency shall, free of charge, conduct a reasonable reinvestigation to determine whether the disputed information is inaccurate and record the current status of the disputed information, or delete the item from the file in accordance with paragraph ( XXXX ), before the end of the 30 day period beginning on the date in which the agency receives the notice of the dispute from the consumer or reseller.

I took it upon myself to look up some of the credit laws and saw that it is illegal to ignore a consumers request to dispute an account on their reports.
