Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: This is my first action taken, calling them by past experiences with debt collectors would only result in a futile conversation over my owing the debt and nothing would be resolved. According to them, Convergent, I supposedly contacted them on an issue of an ID/Theft claim. Then I was directed to call XXXX in regards to a Mobile service subscribed to me, and to file a claim. I never subscribed, purchased or contracted any mobile services from XXXX. The claim against me by Convergent was dated in a letter sent on or about XX/XX/2023. The following was enclosed : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Convergent XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Account Balance {$190.00} Collection Cost {$840.00} Total Owed {$1000.00} Again, I have no recollection of this debt, verbally or in writing : its not mine, I never contracted with XXXX XXXX for any services. I am attaching a file, please disregard the letter to " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX '' which happens to be included in this file.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX after reviewing a copy of my credit reports, I wrote to Convergent Outsourcing Inc. regarding the reported account. I asked for documentation of the debt including but not limited to any contracts or agreements with my wet signature. I further requested Proof of their authority to collect the debt and proof of contractual relationship between Convergent and the original creditor XXXX which makes them an agency entitled to enforce a commercial claim against me, On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a response letter dated XX/XX/XXXX with no proof of anything! They attached a copy of the final XXXX XXXX due XX/XX/XXXX and a form of all the States they are either licensed in or have pending licenses to collect debts. They failed to provide any proof/documentation I requested such as a contract to substantiate their right to pursue this claim or a certified copy of an original contract with my wet signature.

Consumer Complaint: I have disputed this multiple times on my credit report. After contacting the company and asking them to send written notification in the mail I never received it. The most recent contact with them I was told to call XXXX mobile and they could help me I contacted XXXX and XXXX mobile and they said theres never been an XXXX mobile account associated with my Social Security number. This company is harassing me. Ive told them multiple times it is not my debt to please remove it from my credit report. My information and data has been leaked 39 times and sold on the dark web. Plus, its over two years old and the federal statute of limitation on a cell phone bill is only two years This is obviously a fraudulent account and a fraudulent attempt to collect a debt. Id like it removed immediately.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: After reviewing my credit profile on XX/XX/XXXX I identified a discrepancy with account listed under Convergent Outsourcing and validation was requested as this was an account that I did not recognize. I reviewed my credit report again and the account continues to reflect on my credit report as of XX/XX/XXXX. The creditor corresponded to my dispute with a bill from the original creditor and did not validate this account as correctly belonging to me, nor has my credit report been updated to reflect that the account is disputed and therefore a 2nd validation letter was sent out XXXXThere have been no proper verification or validation on this account account as it is still reflecting on my report. The unverified item listed below remain on my credit report in violation of Federal Law. Rather than immediately remove the items listed below per federal law, you opened up a dispute for these items, contrary to my request. You are required under the FCRA to have a copy of the original creditor 's documentation on file to verify that this information is mine and is correct. In the results of your first investigation, you stated in writing dated XX/XX/XXXX, received in the mail by me XX/XX/XXXX, that you " verified '' that this item is being " reported correctly. '' Who verified these accounts? You have NOT provided me a copy of ANY original documentation required under Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) & Section 611 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) ( a consumer contract with my signature on it ) and under Section 611 ( 5 ) ( A ) of the FCRA you are required to " ... promptly DELETE all information which can not be verified. '' The law is very clear as to the Civil liability and the remedy available to me for " negligent noncompliance '' ( Section617 ) if you fail to comply. I am a serious consumer fully intent on pursuing litigation in this matter to enforce my rights under the FCRA. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( hereafter referred to as " FCRA '' ), Section 609 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ), you are required by federal law to verify through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract any and all accounts you post on a credit report. Otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. Therefore, I am demanding to see Verifiable Proof ( an original Consumer Contract with my Signature on it ) you have on file of the account listed below. Your failure to positively verify these accounts has hurt my ability to obtain credit and has. Caused me emotional distress. Under the FCRA, unverified accounts must be removed and if you are unable to provide me with a copy of verifiable proof, you must remove the account listed below. Convergent Outsourcing INC XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Please strike and remove this account from 3 credit bureaus until adequate validation has been received proving that the account belongs to me and all information is correct.
