Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 at XXXXXXXX XXXX PST I received an email from " Coinbase Support '' informing me that there had been a suspicious login attempt on my account ( see attached email from " Coinbase Support '' ). Upon receipt of this, I tried to open my coinbase wallet, but was unable to do so as it would not accept my PIN. I then replied to this email at XXXX XXXX PST ( see attached email from me ) giving the information requested. On XX/XX/2023 at XXXX XXXX PST I received another email from " Coinbase Support '' again informing me of the attempted suspicious login and telling me what to do in order to have my account secured ( see attached email from " Coinbase Support '' ). On XX/XX/2023 I followed the instructions in the email and created a new Coinbase wallet using a recovery key provided in an attachment to the aforementioned email secured by the last six digits of my SSN. Since it had been secured with my SSN, I had no doubt that it originated from Coinbase. I also discovered that, following my corespondence with " Coinbase Support '', I could now unlock my old wallet with my PIN. I then transferred the XXXX assets from my old wallet to the new one at XXXX XXXX PST. By XXXXXXXX XXXX PST, I noted that about half of my XXXX had been transferred out of the new wallet. A couple of minutes later, the remainder of the funds were drained as well leaving a balance of {$0.00}. I sent an email at XXXX XXXX PST to " Coinbase Support '' ( see attached ) asking them to advise me on what was going on asap. I also got on the phone with Coinbase Customer Service and explained the situation to them. They initiated the above case number and said it would be escalated to their security department. While I was on the phone with them, all of the emails from " Coinbase Support '' disappeared from my email account. The following day, I called my email provider and was able to recover the lost emails. I discovered that a spurious filter instruction, " Deliver to trash if 'From ' contains 'coinbase ' '' had been applied to my account. I immediately deleted the filter and changed the password to my email account. On XX/XX/2023 at XXXXXXXX XXXX PST I received yet another email from " Coinbase Support '' ( see attached ) requesting more information in order to aid with the investigation of my case. I called Coinbase Customer Service again to see if this last email was legitimate. I soon learned that it was from the same scammers. I was also advised to forward all of the emails pertaining to this matter to : security @ coinbase.com. I have copies of the blockchain transactions that I was able to download from Coinbase. Please let me know if these or any other data that I might provide that would aid in your investigation of this matter.

Consumer Complaint: Need to reference this close XXXX # XXXX Coinbase has come back on XXXX and stated they admitted fault. They then said they were able to make a one time payout on this date which at this time the value of my loss was around approximately XXXX. This is due to them picking an arbitrary date. Since they returned amount of shares, why didn't they return on the date of loss which they're again admitting their fault. I believe I am entitled to that days value. Thanks, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I transferred {$10000.00} into my Coinbase account. I bought crypto currency with it. This was a month ago. My money is stuck in my account with them, I can not move it to another exchange. Their fees are very expensive. Every time I trade crypto i end up paying around {$300.00} in fees/price manipulation. I have lost a lot of money by trading and not trading because of their high fees. If I was able to transfer my money to another exchange I would have been able to make several trades, with a profit of over {$1000.00} and I would only have to pay {$40.00} or {$60.00} for the trade/transaction . It is a no brainer. I already gave them my id and a picture of myself a few days ago and they told me they would get back to me in 45 days. That is way to long.

Consumer Complaint: I set up and verified an account with Coinbase via the XXXX app over a month ago. Today I transferred {$300.00} and purchased {$100.00} each of 3 crypto currencies on their platform. They prompted me to add two factor authentication. I attempted to do so with XXXX but was ultimately unable to log in on my XXXX. I had logged in on my computer using a text msg to my phone, but then even my computer asked for a code from XXXX, which did not work. In the end I have no way of logging into this account. Their customer service is NONEXISTENT! I chatted twice with two representatives who do not seem to understand XXXX. XXXX said they could escalate my case, but I have no idea when or if anyone will get back to me. In order to log in without a code from that malfunctioning XXXX app, I was required to upload my photo with the front and back of my drivers license, and they said it will take until late afternoon two days from now, XX/XX/XXXX for them to manually approve this to allow sign in. Note : my log in email for Coinbase is XXXX, not the email attached to my CFPB account. Telephone number is the same for both, XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX i called Coinbase to see why my balance went from XXXX to XXXX $ and i was informed that all my Alt coins and Bitcoins were transferred to someone else. When i told them i didnt authorize the transfer they just said to me when you buy crypto there are certain risk that you are taking. I created a ticket XXXX. They close the ticket stating it was a hack and nothing could be done I am out XXXX now. No one called me, no said to me what they are doing about the hack or scam. In fact coinbase CSR told me it will be a good idea to reach out to the scammer and ask them politely to refund the money. ( I just couldn't believe it ). I also found out that XXXX they got hacked so i thought maybe the hack is tied and their are others who lost money, Just a hope i got so i called them again and nothing, just nothing from coinbase. They are literally acting as if nothing happened. I honestly have a feeling that Coinbase 's approach is to keep quiet and he will go away. Never ever in my history have i been hacked on any other platform. I saved this money thinking if Crypto went up i will be able to pay tution fees for my kids and now its all gone. Thank You coinbase for not only losing my money but also to keep quiet and not provide any update to me

Consumer Complaint: Coinbase sent a very intimidating email regarding trades being suspended on coins that I had inside my wallet. It stated that Coinbase would no longer be supporting these coins because of regular monitoring and said that suspension would be eminent on all their platforms. This email is attached and wants to read you can see how scary it is, however, an agent said that funds will still be accessible to trade in transfer, which makes it completely misleading and confusing. Within 25 minutes of receiving the email I got very scared and sold all the assets I had. And within the next 48 hours that same coin had risen 70 %, its completely unfair that Coinbase scares their customers with these tactics to manipulate the market in their favor.

Consumer Complaint: I have a previous complaint filed that has gone on for months unresolved ( XXXX ) regarding funds in a supposedly " secure '' website, coinbase, that was hacked and my funds were drained. Since then I have been unable to log into my account, despite repeated attempts to contact the organization. My password was changed by the hacker, and coinbase will NOT get me access into my own account. They keep responding with the same autogenerated e-mail to check my spam folder. I have followed all their instructions, and I am unable to log in. Now, I received an e-mail from coinbase that my e-mail was changed from XXXX to XXXX. I DID NOT authorize this, and it provides a link if I didn't initiate it, however, when I click the link it sends me to the login page that I have been unable to use for the last 3+ months. They are unresponsive, and completely devoid of any culpability regarding this lack of security on my account. At this point, I would like my money back and to close the account, but at the very least, close the account but I can't even get them to do that. I think coinbase is a shady organization that does not protect it's customers, and worse, exposes them to fraud and theft, with no accountability.

Consumer Complaint: I met someone on XXXX who told me they would help me trade crypto futures. After several trading sessions and large profits, they said I must pay taxes to reap my profits. As of now, my account is " frozen '' All of this was done through Coinbase Wallet and XXXX. Neither company is useful in helping me solve the problem. I Originally wire transferred the funds from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX. My entire life savings is " frozen '' in an account I don't even understand. Approximately {$390000.00} USD. I later found out the person has several XXXX accounts under different names. I have made several complaints to XXXX, and they have been of no help. I also filled out a complaint on the FBI website IC3. I'm devastated. I have lots of information about the scammer, whose photographs I traced to XXXX social media site XXXX. I hired a private investigator to help me find the person. I don't know what to do, and I'm at the end of my rope. The scammer even convinced me to cash out my SEP IRA and add that to the pot.
