Issue: Other transaction problem

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Coinbase about being unable to log into my account. I needed to have a recurring purchase halted as I was not able to sign into my account. On XX/XX/XXXX, Coinbase responded saying they would look into the issue. This was the last message I received from Coinbase that was not an automated message. Despite numerous attempts to contact Coinbase about this issue, there has been no actual response. Since then, there has been a {$200.00} biweekly withdrawal from my bank account ( {$200.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX ) to purchase ETH. As I have no way to access my account and explicitly stated that I did not authorize these purchases, I have to assume that Coinbase has scammed me out of my money and is committing some sort of fraud by continuing to make purchases that I did not authorize.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX Coinbase allowed me to send {$5.00} ( and change ) in XXXX to a hardware wallet. I attempted to send {$2900.00} ( and change ) of XXXX to my hardware wallet and it prompted me to verify my account. I attempted to verify my account three times using my driver 's license which is the same ID in which I opened the account with. Coinbase declined verification 3 times and proceeded to disable my account. I filed a complaint with Coinbase, in return I have received automated emails with no actual resolution or promise of one. I am currently still locked out of both my Coinbase and Coinbase Pro accounts with no access to any of the funds.

Issue: Money was not available when promised

Consumer Complaint: Issue Statement : In XXXX of this year, 2021, I filled out a support ticket requesting that Coinbase move my XXXX bitcoin from my vault into my account as I was unable to do so. I made this request as I was unable to identify the second approval email, thus making the vault inoperative and the content unavailable to me. On XX/XX/2021, Coinbase stated that they had successfully performed a transaction to move my bitcoin from my Coinbase vault into my account. ( XXXX and XXXX ) The referenced accompanying emails clearly state that Coinbase had successfully transferred the bitcoin from the vault to my account, making them available to me for further action on my part. However, since XX/XX/XXXX, when this transaction allegedly occurred, the bitcoin has not appeared in my account, and my account is listed as having XXXX bitcoin. The bitcoin was sent to an address which is not associated with my account, and Email-XXXX, states that it was sent to an address " you haven't previously used. '' When I inquired as to the whereabouts of the bitcoin, I was told to supply the Hash ID for this transaction. ( EMAIL-XXXX ) I responded that since I did not perform the transaction, I had no record of the transaction or its Hash ID. The case was then closed without any explanation, and I was informed to open another ticket if desired ( EMAIL-XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX, I filled out another support ticket asking Coinbase to open another case and assist in tracking down my missing bitcoin. I received an email ( XXXX ), strongly intimating that I had made an inappropriate transaction and thus had lost my bitcoin through my own incompetence. Since the bitcoin is missing as a direct result of Coinbase staff action, I believe that Coinbase should restore the bitcoin that I previously had that appears to have been lost by their staff. The accompanying emails include some lengthy header information, in case, their true origin may need to be tracked. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Consumer Complaint: The company Coinbase advertises {$5.00} worth of bitcoin for signing up. However for me and many other users this money never arrived. Bellow I provide a link to a XXXX post and associated comments from many users of Coinbase for whom this offered reward for signing up never materialized. Many have complained to the company with no satisfactory response. A common reply by the company to this common complaint is to claim that 'the bitcoin is yet to arrive because a users account has not been yet 'completely verified ''. As Coinbase provides Email receipts upon account verification, every user who has not received their promised bitcoin should have evidence to disprove this excuse on the part of the company. {$5.00} may seem a trivial amount, but given the number of users of Coinbase, the sum of withheld crypto is likely large. Above Referenced XXXX Thread : https : XXXX XXXX in this and other relevant threads can likely be contacted through the site/app 's direct messaging feature. Have a nice day.
