Consumer Complaint: First, I was targeted through online advertising to place my money at Coinbase , Inc . The very professional advertisement makes Coinbase sound like a legit business that works in accordance with the high XXXX XXXX XXXX for protecting a consumer 's money from fraud and serious criminals. I just trusted Coinbase with my money and I certainly did not think placing my money there would make me a target for consumer fraud. Second, because I placed my money at Coinbase and scammers found this out through my twitter feed, likes, and follows, I was personally targeted by them to steal my money. This criminal fraud has gone beyond the financial to make me feel at risk personally. Even without the money loss, I would never have placed my money at Coinbase if I had to do it over again -- based fundamentally on the fact that it has opened me and my family up to the risk of dealing with complete low-life scammers who may well also be violent, not to mention, traffickers of life they've turned into devastating commodities. Third, I suffered a huge financial loss because I was targeted online to place my money at Coinbase and then at once turn it over to serious criminal elements. As an investor, out of pure principal, I've now taken all of my money out of Coinbase. I continue to be targeted in communications from unknown criminals who frankly scare me at this point. I've shown Coinbase these communications. In response, Coinbase has responded like crickets with its unspoken " sucks to be you '' policy. The XXXX / XXXX / XXXX XXXX / XXXX XXXX? actually made clear they want money transferred ( i.e. stolen ) via Coinbase. The criminals did not want wire transfers from XXXX Bank for example. Looking back, I see that this is because the scammers know they will get away with what they're doing for the very reason they're working with Coinbase. As a Consumer, I have yet to hear anything helpful from Coinbase. In fact, the Coinbase " support '' team told me that even if I had money transferring in progress I knew to be going to a fraudulent source -- I can not stop this transaction even as it is in progress. That is crazy. Beyond crazy. So can Coinbase make me at once unintentionally and intentionally send money to human traffickers -- also against my will? I thought this was a question less for the legal professionals than for the political philosophers, but now I'm not so sure. In conclusion, I don't think that I have been treated in accordance with the high legal, let alone ethical or moral standards of consumer protection that makes our true prosperity possible here in the United States of America. This is a prosperity that involves monetary wealth, sure ; but it also allows you to rest soundly all around -- not afraid of being woken up by some exploding, red balloon. This happened to me too, and I would be happy to tell you all about it. Any questions you have for me. I think consumers and consumer protectors need to know much more in the open about how Coinbase works and the risks it can create for people. Materially yes, but also the immaterial is just not a place I can risk given especially I'm mother in a family. This is not a conscionable risk. Thank you for taking the time to consider my complaint for you. Dates : money is stolen by scammers via Coinbase beginning approximately late XX/XX/2021 through early XX/XX/2021. Realize it is a scam late XXXX / early XX/XX/2021. I started having doubts and then find I can not withdraw any money as promised. Also, I am treated by scammers in way that is progressively untrustworthy and the more I realize these people for who they are the scarier the experience of working with them becomes. The criminals really messed with me at many levels. Some of those levels were and are financial. But money can be replaced. The worst part of this is truly the psychological and emotional stress and the personal fear.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I didnt even have my account open at Coinbase.com for a couple months when I received a call from Coinbases XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX number, ( since I had added their number to my contacts the day I opened the account ). It was a recording stating something about my account having been compromised, that was on Sunday XX/XX/2021. Since coinbase can not be reached via phone on XX/XX/2021 on their site I inquired about that call since I still had access to my account and could see the crypto currencies that I had purchased still in there. On XX/XX/2021 at XXXX my time ( US ET ) I received an email from XXXX stating : Thanks for contacting us. We understand you were victim of a fake support scam. Please report this to law enforcement agencies in your country. On the email I was asked to answer 4 sets of questions which I did and replied to them. Ever since, I have contacted numerous times with no real answer. Always an automated message to my inquiry for status through the support section of their site saying a specialist would contact me in 4-5 business days, on several occasions and that never occurred. Its been 10 weeks now! Since my account was locked/disabled. I just want to know whats going on. If Coinbase.com allowed my information to be compromised, I need to know but the complete lack of any significant communication is frustrating and frankly I have never had any bad experience with any company where I get to the point where I have to file a formal complaint against them with the CFPB. With no personally indentifying information of my being provided, I have to include my case # XXXX so that my issue can be found, looked up and hopefully, finally addressed. Thank you for helping me rectify this issue.

At this time my account was in recovery so I could not signon. On XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX ( from XXXX ) stating " Your coinbase account recovery is successful. You should now be able to signin ''. This is when I found out my portfolio was XXXX. Since then I have sent all the information to Coinbase who has opened case # XXXX to investigate my fraud case. It's now XX/XX/XXXX and seven days have passed and no response from coinbase as of yet. I have filed a police report with the local station here in XXXX XXXX. I am very frustrated at this point since there is no one to speak with at coinbase, everything being handled via email. Where can I turn to at this point?

Consumer Complaint: I wrote coinbase through their help section and got nowhere. it seems my account was hacked and my email and or my password was changed.coinbase tried to charge my bank {$33000.00}. This is what I wrote : I notified you of the problem a week ago and have heard nothing. My account was hacked, coinbase tried to charge my bank {$33000.00}. I found it and reported it. It was stopped, however I can not access my account. who ever hacked my account evidently tried to buy crypto through my account. I am going to have to file a fraud complaint with the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ), the federal bureau and SEC. From my bank records this was submitted on XX/XX/XXXX. My name is XXXX and my email is : XXXX and my phone is:XXXX. You should have all this. I think my account was changed somehow and when I try to sign in it doesn't even get to 2 step verification and instead says, invalid email or password. I have my recovery phrase, my bank account statements etc. I need to have this problem fixed, and if it is done by way of email I need it in plain understandable english. Preferably talk to someone. When it is fixed I will take the app off my phone as I don't really need it and I think this also might be a problem as I had a problem also with it. A device change that I never did that was also fixed. I have a friend that is a federal agent that works in bank fraud and he said he will help and so far I am doing the right thing and to give you a couple of days. Today is XX/XX/XXXX and I will wait till XX/XX/XXXX. If you need I have copies of everything including this. Also I tried with another coinbase help site and the 6 digit verification code never gets sent to me. Thank You I have the statements from my bank that have all transactions, I have been with coinbase since XXXX so there are plenty of bank records. These are from XX/XX/XXXX, They are all on XX/XX/XXXX : ACH HOLD Coinbase.com ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, THESE THREE WERE FOR {$10000.00} EACH ) next, ACH HOLD Coinbase.com ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX THESE THREE WERE FOR {$1000.00} EACH ) THE LAST ONE ( ACH HOLD Coinbase.com XXXX ). WHAT I AM ASKING IS FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE ACCOUNT TO WHERE IT WAS, The last time I could see it was somewhere around {$14000.00} if I remember correctly. I have all the bank records if I need them, all my ID and my recovery phrase and the addresses when I opened this account. I can't get them on the phone ( XXXX ) and the help section does not work. They should be able to know the account that tried to buy through my account or cleaned out my account or my account is still in good standing and I have no way to access it. If I can I would probably lose it and open a new one but with a better security and not use an app. to put it on my phone. I was also told to file with SEC AND FBI. I will wait for you. Thank You XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, I have transferred XXXX ethereum from XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX to Coinbase XXXX account. I had no idea that I had to " bridge '' my funds before transferring. Also nothing on XXXX XXXX warned me about bridging assets at the time of transfer ( now, after thousands of people made the same mistake, they warn people to bridge before sending ) As a result, my funds are stuck at the address that was provided to me by Coinbase XXXX but on XXXX XXXX. XXXX ( aka XXXX ) help desk has said that they can see the transaction, and the coins are sitting at that address, but only Coinbase XXXX can help me since they hold the keys to said address. I have asked for those keys to the address since they belong to my account, I was denied access. Coinbase XXXX help was inadequate and they closed my service ticket without giving me a final word on the issue. Other exchanges ( XXXX, XXXX., XXXX ) do offer solutions for their customers that are in similar situations. This proves that those funds are recoverable. Coinbase customer service is unacceptably slow and doesn't provide solutions to their customers. As a result, at the time of writing, I am sitting on a $ XXXX loss. Also, while it took me over a month to receive an automated email from Coinbase support, on XX/XX/XXXX, a popular XXXX account has XXXX that he made a similar mistake. Because he is a popular public figure, Coinbase Support reached out to him in 1 hour. Meanwhile there are people with 3 month old service tickets. I don't think this is fair practice. I have attached a pictures. Thank you.
