Consumer Complaint: I opened a dispute with Capital One for an unauthorized charge I didnt notice on my statement. I was informed a new card would be shipped and my account would be credited for the amount right away. However, I still havent received the amount in my available credit as promised. I also was unable to get detailed information on the entire process and likely outcome, as this is my first time ever opening a dispute. I need this credit to be applied asap with clarity on the procedure going forward.

Consumer Complaint: Capital One prematurely permanently closed my account on XX/XX/XXXX without prior notice, written, verbal, or through any communication, advising me that my account is in the process or would be closing. I was not informed or given notice through USPS mail, email, voicemail, missing payments, past due, over limit, broke contract ( no communication at all ). Let it be known that I, XXXX : XXXX, am not satisfied with the outcome and the way the situation was handled. My credit card ending XXXX was cut off prematurely and without prior notice. I only found out after I attempted to purchase groceries ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and my card was declined. After further further investigation and numerous phone conversations with different customer service representatives ( from this one call ), after being connected with the 4th rep I was then told that my card was PERMANENTLY cut off for violating their terms and or conditions of their contract. I was not told the exact reason ( because there is not one ), only read a monotone script they were trained to read. This was not an acceptable reason on the grounds that I had not violated any terms or conditions at all. I was told that a letter had been mailed out that day ( XX/XX/XXXX ) stating the reason ( s ) why my card was permanently shut off. I asked 4 different reps can they please return use of my card if they could not provide proof of any mishandlings on my end. They could not provide any proof and yet my account remains closed. More clarity below : First, I asked for a credit increase in XXXX and was denied stating in a letter I received dated XX/XX/XXXX that ( 1 ) the account was recently past due; and ( 2 ) recent use of this accounts credit line has been too low. ( being discriminated against because I do not use my card as often or as much as they would like ). The first accusation is false, as there was a payment mailed out in XX/XX/XXXX ( a check for {$530.00} through certified mail return receipt requested ( information upon request ) with a letter thanking the company for the positive balance along with instructions to apply the balance to the principals account. It was accepted, although the balance did not change. A second check was mailed out XX/XX/XXXX ( {$1200.00} certified mail return receipt requested ( information upon request ) to CFO XXXX XXXX XXXX. I wanted him to see I was making payments, and they were not being processed to the principal account. Once these payments were accepted the balance should show Paid IN Full {$0.00} balance owed. If this was not an acceptable tender of payment, I was not made aware, no emails were sent, no letters, were mailed out to me ( accept for the denial of a line of credit increase and the letter attempting to vaguely explain why my card had been permanently cut off two ( 2 ) days after payment was mailed out which I explained to the customer service representative ), and no phone calls were made. Thus making the account {$0.00} balance after receiving the payment and would also put them in default to their end of the contract. That did not happen. They went into default by not honoring my payment. Secondly, that there was a certain amount I needed to spend each day. I spend as needed, and because the holidays were rapidly approaching, is the time when I use my card the most. I am being unjustly penalized and falsely accused of not making timely payments by not doing electronic transfer funds ( I mailed in the payments instead ), and accused of violating terms of agreement that can not be proven or expressed/explained to me what has been violated. The only reason I found out my card was permanently shut down is that I tried purchasing groceries on XX/XX/XXXX and was declined. I called the customer service line minutes after to find out what was going on, then and only then did I get any information about the situation. No prior communication ( written or verbal ) was given. If this is how a multi-billion dollar company handles their valued and appreciated customers, I should hope they treat people they do not appreciate or value even worse.

Consumer Complaint: Approximately XXXX XXXX ago, I was the XXXX of fraud across all of my credit and deposit accounts with XXXX financial institutions. This was not an isolated incident and it happened XXXX times over XXXX XXXX as I did not realize immediately that the perpetrator was an associate of mine with access to my home and repeatedly accessed credit & debit card information. Some of these accounts were hit XXXX times over this time, because the perpetrator access the new card information when the previous card was closed and re-issued. I did not give my associate access to my personal records, but they took the liberty to do so when unsupervised. Because of their actions, it caused multiple deposit accounts of mine to be in the XXXX and for payments to capital one to be returned unpaid. I have contacted Capital One to explain the situation and make them aware that I was the victim of credit fraud not the perpetrator and they couldnt seem to understand. They closed my XXXX longest open credit card accounts that I had maintained excellent credit history for over XXXX XXXX on each. I again tried to explain the situation, and the fact that I was the victim and not the criminal to no avail. I have since experienced extreme economic hardship because of excessive XXXX bills due to multiple chronic illnesses and have been given no concessions by capital one because XXXX of my XXXX accounts was characterized as not complying with company disclosures/delinquent.

Consumer Complaint: I earned a kohl 's cash couban on a previous purchase. The Kohl 's cash coupons are stored on my account online for future use. I check my account this morning and I had a {$20.00} Kohl 's coupon that I earn from a previous purchase and later this evening the coupon. Was showing as redeemed. I immediately contacted their customer service number via chat online. And they said the coupon had been redeemed at a store in the state of Iowa and I live in the state of XXXX. The associates said there is nothing they can do to help me. Gave me XXXX incorrect phone numbers of XXXX other departments that have nothing to do with this XXXX. It appears that the company does not have sufficient security measures to prevent people from fraudulently use. Other customers earned coupons.

Consumer Complaint: We have had a business card with capital one since 2019 never late never not paid in full never had an issue. They closed our account and only gave us this response Capital One has observed activity on a past or present Capital One account that is not consistent with anticipated account activity based on Capital Ones account opening and ongoing due diligence. What does this mean? How can you offer a credit card than say we dont like how or what you buy? I want a reason as to what we did to garner our account being closed. I feel profiled by this company. I do not appreciate that they did this with zero notice just BOOM closed I had auto payment set up that were denied that could have effected my credit. I have called several times and nobody at capital one can give me a straight answer as to why this account was closed. I can tell you what wont be in my wallet anymore CAPITAL ONE!
