Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Banking errors
Consumer Complaint: I had my savings at Capital One in an account I understood to be a high-interest savings account called 360 Savings. I specifically chose the account for this reason. I have come to learn by reading an article in the XXXX XXXX XXXX, published XX/XX/XXXX, that Capital One introduced an account called 360 Performance Savings in XXXX with much higher interest. While it ended enrollment in the 360 Savings account program for new customers, I was given no notification despite years of customer loyalty. When I learned of the new account, I immediately opened one and transferred funds. I am making this complaint because I believe Capital One behaved deceptively. The new account has nearly the same name and it was instituted without any notification to those who held the older account. I think Capital One has a responsibility to communicate in good faith with all of its customers about opportunities for better interest rates.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I purchased two airline tickets ( XXXX XXXX ) and paid with my debit card ( Capital One ). The correct XXXX charges appeared, posted XX/XX/XXXX in the amounts of {$540.00} and {$540.00}. But in addition to that, another charge for the total amount was listed as pending : {$1000.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX XXXX, and they said it was the bank 's issue. I called Capital One, and they said it's coming from/initiated by XX/XX/XXXX merchant hold until XX/XX/XXXX, and there is nothing they can do to release it. I called XXXX XXXX again, and apparently, nobody can do anything about it, but meanwhile, they have tied up over {$1000.00} of my money for a week! And there was no notice or indication this was going to happen. ( If I had automatic payments on this account, then all kinds of other transactions would have been declined, etc. Luckily, I do not. ) But it is not right that these large companies can keep tossing the ball back and forth, and nobody can do anything about it. They should not tie up my money for a week, especially with no notice on the website before I completed the transaction.

Consumer Complaint: I am resubmitting this complaint to CAPITAL ONE regarding the presence of fraudulent accounts on my credit report. Despite previously filing an FTC report with the identity theft report number XXXX, I have observed that this fraudulent account persist on my credit report. I had hoped to rely on CAPITAL ONE to safeguard my information and to report accurate credit reports. Unfortunately, my credit report continues to contain multiple inaccuracies, including erroneous balances, dates of late payments, payment statuses, dates of last payments, and violations under FCRA policy and CFPB rules, particularly concerning on this account. To support my case, I have once again attached the FTC report along with a detailed letter of explanation outlining the reasons this account should be rectified or removed from my files. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and trust that CAPITAL ONE will take the necessary steps to address and rectify these inaccuracies promptly.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/year>, there was fraudulent activity on my capital one card. There was a cash advance of {$120.00}, and then two payments made to my account for {$820.00} and {$100.00} - accounts that the individual had linked to my account that were not mine. I reported all three transactions as soon as I found them which was on the XXXX as the transactions were pending. A replacement card was sent and a day or two later, I received a letter stating that capitalone found my fraud case to substantiated. However, I am still being charged cash advance fees and interest, and have attempted to remedy this with the cardholder. IN addition, my account has now been closed due to returned payments, despite that I reported them multiple times as being fraudelent payments. I am being told that I must take corrective action immediately if I want my account reopened, however, this was FRAUD. I do not want this on my credit report that I had returned payments because I violated the user agreement and that my account was closed. I also should not be being told that I must take corrective action for fraud.

Consumer Complaint: I have two credit cards with capital one and last year I called to make a payment arrangement and I was transferred to the XXXX I explained to her that my long-term XXXX money wasn't going to be in my account on time for me to pay it. She advised me that was find as long as I called ahead of time to let them know and she put in a different date for me to make my payment and also told me if anything changed before that to just give them a call back. Well I called back and spoke with another representative and explained to him what was setup for me but I still couldn't make the payment on the date I was given so he said no problem I can change it and I asked him was he sure and he said yes I'm sure XXXX. well I made the payment and they have it listed as a late payment on my credit report and it wasn't XXXX days past due at all. I have tried Disputing them about it and they refused to remove it as well as charging me extra interest rate fees. I just recently made a payment on one of my capital one credit cards and it didn't show paid until the XXXX of XXXX instead of the XXXX of XXXX because I called and explained to them I was trying to make a payment with my bank card and the bank thought it was a fraudulent transaction and they froze my card the representative that night said it was okay and to call back the next day to have the late fee removed because it wasn't my fault my card was frozen due to fraud and I called back and was told no after he put notes on my account about my situation and told me it would be adjusted.
