Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: On my credit report Capitol One account Number XXXX shows that the credit card account was charged off for the first time in XX/XX/XXXX. I noticed these charge off have went on for nearly two years now, negatively impacting my credit score each month up until this current month XX/XX/XXXX. This is illegal! FCRA law section 623 says an account can be reported delinquent on the months THAT IT IS LATE but once an account is closed it CAN ONLY REFLECT charge off up until the closing date. Anything after that is not supposed to be reported.

Consumer Complaint: I have several CapOne cards, some of which for many years, all of which I maintain in good standing. Most are {$0.00} balance, and some are used infrequently. I did miss a payment on card ending in XXXX, but when I recognized that a day or few later, I promptly paid off the entire purchase balance due from the prior statement ( i..e, more than minimum payment required ). I called today for a refund of the {$25.00} late fee, which CapOne policy provides for if there has not been a fee refund in a certain time period, typically one year. The supervisor I spoke with told me there has not been a late fee on this account for a long time, so she was perplexed as to why " the system '' would not allow the refund. This is yet another of many recent examples of CapOne removing the capability of customer service representatives to do the right thing for their customers.

Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Dispute amount : {$1600.00} and {$2500.00} Date of transaction : XX/XX/2023 Case # : XXXX Merchants name : XXXX XXXX XXXX Bank name : Capital One I rented a vehicle from " XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX '' I was involved in a minor accident that caused damage to the wheel 's & tires of the car rental. I applied car rental insurance to protect me in the event that something like this would happen. I am only liable for a {$1000.00} deductible but the merchant is charging me about {$5000.00}. After trying to resolved the issue with the merchant, I decided to dispute the charges with my bank because the merchant is not honoring their part of the rental agreement. Unfortunately, my bank closed the dispute in favor of the merchant & is charging me an amount that I am not liable to pay. This is bad business on behalf of my bank institution.
