Consumer Complaint: I applied for a Capital One credit card to rebuild my credit as it helps with rebuilding credit. I have applied several times and I have been denied multiple times citing a previous account that was compromised due to identity theft. Capital One didn't take the identity theft claim seriously and refused to investigate my claim. I believe that I am being discriminated based on my XXXX, my identity being stolen and race since I am XXXX. I believe that the identity fraud that hit my account and myself being held liable is because of my race, XXXX and nationality.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX both of and all of my Capital one cards where hit with fraud I am up to date on all my charges and I owe capital one nothing. Then XX/XX/2023 came and I tried very hard to get my phone number changed with my account with XXXX XXXX separate times through their live chat for XXXX individuals. All XXXX times using their link to send my drivers license it is not clear they received this or not. This is a security measure they use to change information in a person 's account. Now I have requested a alternative to a mandated phone call as a reasonable accommodation XXXX separate times since XX/XX/2023, so I can equally use their services yes I am XXXX. Capital one does not care to realize their are other types of XXXX that one who is XXXX XXXXXXXX, they insisted they are following XXXX laws by telling me to use XXXX XXXX XXXX In which my XXXX prevent me from using a phone period! I don't know this stuff and do not care to know this XXXX stuff. I recieve paperless bills but Capital one refuses to change my phone number since XXXX of 2023 so that I could pay the only debt I owe with Capital one and this is my annual fee for my XXXX XXXX card. I did report this in the beginning with the CFPB and because nothing was resolved I suffered damages and grief from this. MY CREDIT SCORE MY PERFECT CREDIT SCORE WAS TARNISHED! Capital one reported delinquency for something that is their fault not mine. I need that credit so I could apply for a home repair loan to fix emergency major repairs to my house! Yeah thanks Capital one. When Capital one decided my XXXX are not covered under the XXXX they made a very very big mistake! I want all negative marks erased! I want Capital one to get over their head trip of security nonsense and change my XXXX phone number in my this is my # now XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX but if you call I will not answer. Capital one requires a valid phone # just to get and keep a Capital one credit card. I want Capital one to waive their fees they put on this - my not being able to get into my account and pay my annual fee for my XXXX XXXX card. And I want Capital one to send me my new credit cards for my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX cards. They have canceled out my cards I have and nearly XXXX months later I have yet to get my new cards. That caused caous when both cards got hit this whole experience with capital one has caused grief and real damage. If the CFPB chooses not too resolve this until this is completely resolved I will be forced to file with XXXX rights of XXXX XXXX for violations to the XXXX and XXXX XXXX. Hud is already aware with this situation XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX hud enforcement XXXX. CFPB your partially responsible for this continuing and causing harm

Consumer Complaint: Capital one approved a credit card with a limit of {$5500.00}. I had already used {$1300.00} and made my first payment when I discovered a fraudulent charge was made on the credit card for {$210.00}. Naturally I contacted the fraud department and disputed the charge. Capital one open a fraud case and then they refunded the {$210.00} back to my account. Then a week later my account was restricted and I was emailed to contact the fraud department. I called the fraud department and was told that I needed to verify my identity by submitting s copy of my social security, 3 months Bank statements, 3 months employment paystubs and both sides of my drivers license. I asked what was all this about but representatives did not have an answer. So I submitted what I felt like they needed and waited. I called them again and asked why the credit card was still restricted? The representative stated that the documents were not approved, only the # SS card was approved and that I needed to resubmit everything again. Shortly after that conversation I received and email letter stating that I was no longer approved for the credit card. This is a problem because now my credit score dropped due to the reversal of the {$5500.00} credit limit and the outstanding balance of {$1300.00}. I feel like this is retaliation or discrimination but either way Im filing this complaint and hopefully an attorney wont have to get involved. Please help!

Consumer Complaint: Capital One Credit Cards I have a Quicksilver and a XXXX card with this company and at times when i balance and check my card activity, i am owing more than what my balance says and this is going by there website, for example i will owe an extra {$30.00} and this has happen sporadically, so i will just adjust my balance to capitals figure and go on. I suspect some wrongdoing on their part but am not sure how to prove it. Another instance in XXXX was when i deposit a XXXX check and my account should have been {$20.00}, but it showed {$22.00}, so yes i had a credit of XXXX but there was no reason given. I would like to know if i am the only one having these issues and if the is a pending lawsuit against XXXX, i would be interested in joining.

Consumer Complaint: At XXXX XXXX XXXX, I called Capital One customer service as listed on https : //www.capitalone.comXXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to inquire about why my account showed an interest rate of 30.74 % instead of the promotional 0 % offered to me when I applied for the credit card ; I also offered the sign-up spending bonus of {$200.00} after spending a minimum of {$500.00} within the first 3 months of opening an account. I was then told by customer service that neither promotion was applied to my account, with no specific reason given. The terms on the website state that the promotional credit is offered when clicking Apply Now through the website, which I did. This promotion directly influenced my decision to apply and use this credit card, so not receiving it as promised is problematic.

Consumer Complaint: I disputed incorrect information contained in my credit report in a letter dated XX/XX/2023. I understand that, under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), I am entitled to timely response from CAPITAL ONE. In the letter, I informed you that the account XXXX was legally paid in full after collection status, but I have yet to receive a 1099 c for this write off. In addition, Capital One is in violation of the FCRA for reporting inconsistent information such as the date last active, high credit limit, and payment history. If you are reporting different information to each credit reporting agency, how is the information furnished credible? This is clear and obvious negligence, defamation of character, and gross misconduct. Please take notice that I must receive a corrected copy of my credit report with the changes I have outlined within five ( 5 ) business days from receipt of this letter, or I will be forced to take legal actions under the FCRA, seeking damages for loss of credit and for the mental anguish your bureau has caused me. Because of your violation of the FCRA 's time frame on such timely responses, it is safe to believe that the information I have disputed has been corrected and all negative data have been removed from my credit report. I thank you for your kind attention to this matter and hope to receive my updated credit report soon.
