Consumer Complaint: They closed my account without any explanation, a few days later they returned my payment and said it was no good. I have bank statements that say otherwise. After numerous calls finally just decided to pay it off and made 1 large payment, went through just fine. Then paid the balance the next month and again plenty of money in the account and they refunded the payment and charged me {$75.00} in fees.

Consumer Complaint: Capital One Auto financing has been assessing most of my monthly and weekly vehicle payments that I have been making toward the interested rather than the principle. They continue to state that I'm late and behind when during the Covid pandemic 3 different months of extended time which was added to the end of the loan term which gave me more months to pay they are currently adding those 3 months to the current bills as if I'm late when those months were added to extend a longer loan term and after further review into my account I found that Capital one has being applying usury to my account and exceeding in the amount of yearly interest and my state of XXXX requires as well as my contract. They continue to threaten me with repossession for a Vehicle payment of which is not late, and I've made numerous attempts to make validation to their error, but I have yet to receive a response but more threats of Possession. I've requested proof but all they say is look at the contract I signed on the interest, but they have yet to provide me with absolute validation to the late payment claims.

Consumer Complaint: Our Capital One credit cards ( both myself and my husband 's ) had a potential fraud charge. Capital One restricted both cards. We have always had just capital one ( which was a mistake ). We were travelling at the time XXXX ( XXXX ) and were left with no credit card. I requested that they overnight a new card to our hotel in XXXX since we had no way to get our hotel bill paid or to continue on our trip. They did overnight a new card which we used to check out of the hotel. When we went to the XXXX XXXX rental at the XXXX airport to rent a car the card was denied. When we called the representative they were requesting verification of identity that was impossible to provide when I was at XXXX Airport XXXXXXXX XXXX rental counter. Once again we were paralyzed with no ability to rent a car, change our flight or check into another hotel. When we arrived home I sent them the necessary documents. My husband was a prosecutor and we have always had a po box as our mailing address for security reasons. They refused to accept the documentation since it did not have a residency address. I can not believe that certain customers don't have their home addresses on bills also because of security issues. You can find anyone on the internet these days and this is one way to keep your personal address private. Capital One 's unbending policies have lost them a customer of over 20 years.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased a laptop charger on XXXX and it became defective shortly after purchase, heating up, not charging, heating up my computer, black goop leaking out of the electrical connection. I requested a refund from seller on XXXX who continued to insist to send a replacement. The seller removed the listing right after I requested a refund. XXXX blocked the refund and said it was too late although it wasn't. It was the last day to request. I contacted Capital One who received my complaint. They removed the entire credit charge for two items on that date rather than the discussed amount of just this one item. They then sent a letter stating the seller disputed. It was the other seller. They then charged me the amount back on my card for both purchases. Again, I contacted Capital One on the phone ( they refuse to allow written messages ). They sent me an encrypted email to upload all communication with seller and photos. I uploaded multiple times and site kept crashing. I finally succeeded to upload all documentation including screenshot of site issue. I received a letter yesterday XX/XX/23 that Capital One has decided that I should work with the seller and refused to honor that XXXX approximate refund for defective product. Capital One is charging 28.75 % interest rates. I am reporting them to AG office as well. They are not abiding by their credit card agreement.

Consumer Complaint: This is to the second complaint filed with this agency over payments related to both my Capital One Credit Cards ending XXXX and XXXX this is related to the previous complaint # XXXX. I have made arrangement with Capital One to make a monthly payment in the amount of XXXX on the XXXX of every month for a total of 9 month which the first payment was to be made on XX/XX/2023 and another payment was made for XX/XX/2023 but made on the XXXX which a customer service agent not of the United States was informed. From XXXX and XXXX, XXXX Capital One, despite having the agreement of the XXXX payment every month for 9 months has been sending me notices stating the account is behind and i have to make up the past due amount before XX/XX/2023 my account will be charged off. On the XXXX of XXXX I contacted Capital One stating this was incorrect and spoke to Agent XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to ask for a physical address to dispute my account. The agent began to place me on hold and later stated her Supervisor told her that she could not provide a physical address ( which could have been a XXXX XXXX XXXX to me to write a letter. this is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Billing Act. This is the second time I have had to file a complaint based on my accounts with Capital One in which an XXXX XXXX provided error or did would not allow me to make a payment ( reasonable ) to keep the account from being charge off. XXXX XXXX have prevented me from being about to protect my credit rights.
