Consumer Complaint: I received the response from Capital One. I have stated several times my card was stolen and it just was never properly filed. I called today Im still on the phone actually and I was told they cant dispute charges because they havent confirmed that the bank account is mine. The person who responded to my complaint just yesterday through the CFPB stated they confirmed they account is mine. My account is also not in collections I have paid the account down but since I made a complaint all of a sudden my account is over the credit limit by {$14.00}. The charges in question are from XXXX of XXXX a XXXX charge for {$200.00}. I have a car and would never get a XXXX for {$200.00} also a XXXX gas charge in XXXX. My wallet was stolen XX/XX/2022. I moved from XXXX to XXXX on XXXX XXXX. The second rep told me he was the fraud manager and they dont follow the rules of the CFPB and they couldnt file any dispute because they havent confirmed I owned the account just today. The payment in question I didnt do I have said that. I havent had access to this card since XX/XX/2022. I also didnt say I had problems with XXXX they helped me get my money back Capital one is the problem. I have paid over {$630.00} to Capital one after the card was stolen yet my balance has never been reflected or decreased.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 I decided I would pay my balance due of {$490.00} early to get it out the way. My payment was not due until XX/XX/2023 of every month. On XX/XX/2023 my payment of {$490.00} was returned due to payment account issues which is my fault I take accountability for accidentally clicking the wrong card to pay off my balance. It was unintentional because I have tried to use my work XXXX XXXX XXXX card my very first time to pay off my balance and it was returned immediately which resulted in me paying my balance with my XXXX XXXX debit card which I had intended to do so if my rapid pay debit card didnt go through. So fast forward to XX/XX/2023, I was going to pay for something quickly my card declined resulting me to check my application and did not notice this issue until I logged onto my capitol one application on my cellular phone. I quickly made a call to XXXX and was told I can pay it off before XXXX and all should be fine. My account wasnt permanently closed until after they confirmed my payment of {$490.00} on XX/XX/2023. Mind you I was never mentioned that they would close my account the only thing my account on the application said that it was restricted. I am frustrated because I understand I might have violated their terms in their words as they said but it shouldve not result in me not being able to get approved by any credit card company. The capitol one representatives let me know I am able to apply for another credit card but am not guaranteed an approval again. I have tried since then to apply again and was denied. I also applied for an XXXX credit card and was denied because of my credit. I am reliable and I made this mistake two times only. I am a single mother and work full time. I just want this resolved so I am able to apply for another credit card in the near future. I am not in debt, I knew my responsibilities and I was just being cautious so I wanted to pay early but I made a mistake.

Consumer Complaint: I saw an ad on XXXX about a scooter from XXXX for {$69.00}. Thinking this was a great deal, I immediately purchased using my Capital One Walmart rewards credit card. I happened to be texting a friend after making the purchase, informing her that I felt unsure about the purchase, because companies usually send confirmation, but I had not received email confirmation. I proceeded to lock my card, with the expectation that the credit card company would contact me prior to allowing the transaction. She reviewed the information and took some screenshots, showing that the company had no affiliation with XXXX and the numerous complaints reporting the business, XXXX was a scam. I repeatedly checked to see if the purchase showed on my credit card charges and finally, the next day after locking my card, the charges showed. I immediately contacted capital one and tried to resolve the issue. They said that since the purchase was still pending, I would have to wait XXXX business days for the charge to show at which point I could call back to dispute it. My issue is that the charges did not show until after I locked the card. The purchase was made the night of XX/XX/2023 after which I had locked the card and the pending charge was placed on XXXX The company acknowledged that I locked the card, however, they refuse to remove the charge even after the lock was put in place. I received no call questioning why the card was locked.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased an XXXX XXXX ticket online from a travel company. I printed my ticket and arrived at the train station, only to be told my ticket was invalid and I had been scammed. The original charge was {$500.00} on my BJs Capitol One XXXX. As I did not have a legitimate ticket to ride the train, I had to purchase another ticket for {$560.00} from XXXX. As soon as I discovered that I had been scammed I reached out to Capitol One to start a dispute over the {$500.00} charge. This began a long series of requests for proof of my claims which I sent them. Each time I sent them the information, they would immediately refuse my claim. Its as if they are reading from a script and adding one more thing you have to come up with every time they talk to XXXX resolve your claim.After approximately 20 phone calls and as many requests for more information, I was unable to provide anything else and they refused my claim. When I realized that I was getting nowhere I offered to split the {$500.00} and accept that as the final step in the process. Capitol One refused my offer.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, we purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX. Many companies were sought out to finance the vehicle. Therefore many inquiries are on our credit report. Capital One Auto Finance was chosen at a whopping XXXX percent interest rate. We made our payments on time since then ( beginning XX/XX/XXXX to present XX/XX/XXXX ) We were told by the dealership that if 6 months of payment were made, our interest rate would lower significantly. Our credit score would be significantly higher without a payment of {$490.00} if Capital One would lower their rate, considering our excellent payment history. We have received other offers from various loan companies however they are wanting to start over the lease that does not improve the financial situation we are in. Having XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX, my doctor advised to move from Colorado to a lower altitude to live longer. We can not do that under these circumstances. Consumer Complaint: I have a capital one credit card.In XX/XX/22 I purchased an air conditioner online with my card. I found out the next day that the company was fraudulent. I notified Capital One of of this.They froze my account while they investigated the company website. In XXXX after I made my payment on my account it left a balance of {$210.00} which matched the amount I had in rewards cash.So I thought they would go ahead and unfreeze my account and take the rewards and pay off my balance.But they havent and every time I call to resolve this issue.All they want to do is argue and wont tell me when my account can be reopened so I can close my account. I ripped my card up long ago.They wont open it back up so I can put this behind me.And to add salt to the wound they have tried to destroy my credit.

Consumer Complaint: I constantly get the following message when I access my Capital One Credit card app : " Receive a statement credit up to {$100.00} on your next hotel booking through Capital One Travel. * '' Good until XX/XX/2023 I got the message today and when I called, I finally was told that the offer had gotten used up, that it is only good for a certain number of customers. When trying to book this travel, the system would not let me book the travel saying that my credit card information was wrong. I spoke Capital One, they assured me that the problem was fixed, they transferred me to their travel department ( this is a separate entity that does business as Capital One Travel. The inability to book the travel due to system glitches entailed multiple transfers from Capital One to Capital One Travel. Each time, they assured me that they would resolve the problem. After two hours of this, I was told that the {$100.00} offer was only {$25.00}. I have been a good customer of Capitol One, always paying on time.

The problem is, that before it was charged off I tried to see how I got this account ( I did not open it ) and I tried to pay it off to resolve the issue, but they could never find my information in the system to allow me to pay it off. Whenever I call up there to remedy this and pay it off so it comes off my credit report they can not find the account and XXXX unable to pay it.

Consumer Complaint: I had tried to order a credit card from capital one but had to opt out because I had just recently lost my job. I paid {$65.00} towards it and they've only given me back {$40.00}. In no place or any where did it say if you decide to opt out your credit score will be effected. And they still owe me {$25.00}. Another incident that happened with capital one is that they wanted me to pay {$1.00} to get a loan from them and I kept trying to press back on My phone as fast as I could but I didn't understand how they've already gotten the information to charge my account. Which both incidents brought my credit score down when there was nothing in fine print or little print that XXXX bring you scores down and I am very curious as to how capital one had my information the second time.
