I went to capitol one about 5 times and filed disputes and they turned me down because the time frame after the charges were made. it was only 7-8 months when i went back over all my bills and called them. they were no help to me even though the charges were very known to be fraud from the international company. Consumer Complaint: I notified Capital One that I was in a car accident in XXXX of XXXX. I told them that I would need to freeze, cancel or stop my card because I had no way of making any future payments, because I was now out of work indefinitely. Capital One one told me that I could NOT do any of those requests. I had a very small limit, so I was not adding any purchases. The Fees that generated over months are what caused the card to max me out and over my limit. I reached out to Capital One again, as I noticed the monthly service fees kept rising from {$25.00} to over {$100.00} a month. I literally begged them to stop billing me. I advised them on how they were purposely hurting my credit because I had asked to be removed after my accident occurred. I reminded them that I was out of work due to my medical restrictions from this accident. My credit has dropped well over XXXX points due to their reporting. Capital One told me again, I didn't have any options except to wait until it was charged off. I think this is outrageous! Instead of assisting me Capital One took advantage of my situation.
