Consumer Complaint: Capital One- account was charged off and closed in XXXX as bad debt. Requested 1099-C, company still trying to collect after charge off. Reported payments incorrectly. Also, per the GLBA, consumers must be given the opportunity to opt out of having their personal information shared with nonaffiliated third parties. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I received my last statement for {$200.00}. I wrote and mailed the check on XX/XX/2023. That paid off my account. It was not due until XX/XX/2023. I know it did not take 12 days for my check to arrive at Capital One. Capital One failed to post the payment on time. They did not post it until XX/XX/2023. They claimed they did not receive it on time. In XXXX, I received a late charge of {$25.00} and interest charge of {$4.00}, equaling {$29.00}, claiming my payment was late. I filed a complaint with Capital One. They sent a response telling me to call them. They gave me the run around. I explained my problem. They refused to listen to me, claiming I am liable for their error. I know I can not be responsible for a late charge when I mailed the payment the same day I received the statement. Since then, Capital One is saying I owe over {$52.00} in late and interest fees. This account is closed. The matter is for the account ending XXXX as I do have other accounts with Capital One.

Consumer Complaint: In accordance with the fair credit Reporting act Capital One # XXXX, has violated my rights. 15 USC 1681 Section 602 States I have the right to privacy. 15 USC 1681 Section 604 A Section 2 : It also states a consumer reporting agency can not furnish a account without my written instructions. 15 USC 1666B : A creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan as late for and purpose.

Consumer Complaint: I had a Large Inheritance deposited into my checking account with Capital one bank via wire transfer on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX bank in Alaska, they froze my account week later claiming Fraud. The bank in Alaska proved it was not fraudulent as did i and they have held my XXXX in an account that i can no longer see. I have called over 100s of times and i get a run around about under investigation to have my money moved on XX/XX/XXXX and was told it was sent back to where it originated from it is now being told to me that its still under investigation after a year & a half and I want this resolved and the money returned to me. Every time i call i get a different response it was sent back to Alaska now its with investigator i cant see my money nor do i know if it is still in Capital one bank in new York since they moved it and closed my account down. I am desperately in need of help please they have stolen my money from me is how i see it.

In early XXXX I was the victim of an online scam ; I immediately alerted my bank, Capital One, but they could not return the money and I owed several XXXX XXXX due to the bank. Consequently I was forced to pay back Capital One bank with funds from an investment account at XXXX XXXX, and Capital One was made whole. As a result, the bank has approximately {$1000.00} frozen during this time ; I have been unable to get the overage refunded to me in over 100 days. Capital One refuses to provide me with a case number, a contact number or any timetable for resolution of this issue.

Capital One 's response, dated XX/XX/2023, indicated that they required additional information to proceed with the investigation of my dispute. However, I had already furnished all pertinent details necessary for them to conduct a thorough investigation in my original dispute letter. This delay appears to be an attempt to hinder the investigation process rather than a genuine effort to rectify the inaccuracies.
