Consumer Complaint: Capital One has sent me nonsensical and incorrect documentation in regards to fraudulent charges that were not made by me and posted to my credit card. I have been treated inappropriately by Capital One on numerous occasions, and I feel it has do with a XXXX bias against me. This issue involves fraudulent charges that I do not recognize and Capital One is refusing to remove. Capital One is the only credit card company I have ever had an issue with of my numerous cards, they are abnormal in their response and behavior and are not abiding with US Law. The Fair Credit Billing Act ( FCBA ) protects consumers against inaccurate or fraudulent credit card charges and other billing errors. XXXX has charged my card for {$120.00} total, I do not recognize these charges, and Capital One is refusing to remove them. I was charged on four separate occasions. I have submitted all information to Capital One, of which I have copies of, and they are still refusing to remove fraudulent charges from my card. They sent me the following communication : " We opened a dispute case on XX/XX/2022, because you stated that you were unaware what these charges were '' They are acknowledging that I reported fraud to them, and are doing nothing about it. Nor have they provided any information on their findings in the dispute process or how they arrived to their conclusion. They have provided no evidence or proof of anything- they are simply refusing to remove fraudulent charges because it benefits them financially. They have also stated " We issued a permanent credit on XX/XX/2022, for the XXXX XXXX XXXX that occurred on XX/XX/2022 '' This is incorrect, all charges totaling {$120.00} were put back on my card. They are lying directly to the CFPB. Also, how can they give a credit for a charge in XX/XX/XXXX that they said occurred on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX month after? They are lying directly to the CFPB and not even making sense, it shows the lack of respect this company has and how it does not take the issue seriously. Capital One 's behavior is in direct violation of the XXXX Credit Billing Act. Here is the law directly from the FTC website : " If the issuer determines that you owe the disputed amount, they must tell you promptly and in writing how much you owe and why. You may ask for copies of documents that the issuer says prove you owe the money. '' I have asked them for documentation proof or evidence of these false charges and they have not provided it to me, as the law states they must. Capital One is violating consumer law, and I believe it is due to prejudicial bias against me. I am asking the CFPB and FTC to assist me against this predatory company. It is disgusting how poorly they treat the family of a veteran.

Consumer Complaint: There is an auto loan on my account that was with Capital One Auto Finance. It was included in my now discharged XXXX XXXX bankruptcy, surrendered to a third party, my ex husband. Capital One Auto Finance did not file a reaffirmation agreement with the court. The ex husband made a separate agreement with Capital One Auto Finance to pay off the vehicle and has been paying it, in fact paying it off this month. Capital One Auto Finance continues to reflect this negative reporting on my credit, I have disputed with XXXX 4 times and Capital One Auto Finance XXXX time. I have also an open dispute with XXXX as it appears they reported it accurately in XXXX but Capital One Auto Finance reported it again negatively in XXXX. It is shown accurately on XXXX reporting " included in bankruptcy ''. I will continue to fight this until the two credit bureaus show it accurately as " included in bankruptcy '' as Capital One Auto Finance is being deceptive and lying in that they have a separate payment arrangement made with my ex husband, that has nothing to do with me as surrendered the vehicle in 2017. This is wrong, and it is damaging to my credit reporting preventing me from being able to obtain financing on a new home. As a single hard working mom, I will always fight for what is right to defend my home, my son and our livelihood.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a capital one quicksilver card which I received in the mail today, XX/XX/2023, however, I was unable to activate it or access my online account portal. I called into customer care with whom I advised that the phone number on my account needs to be updated to verify my identity ; the phone number on file is no longer mine. I applied using my current phone number, capital one refused to update my the phone number on the account. I attempted to work with two representatives who refused to fulfil this mundane task. In addition, they also made threats against my life. I had no issue but to request the account to be closed and communication from this fraudulent business to cease and desist as this harassment is highly unprofessional and I will not be attacked for requesting a simple change to my account. I would also like Capital One to remediate or compensate me for my credit report damage that was incurred from their fraud. Failure to respond to this request will result in legal action taken against " XXXX '' and every other tier 1 representative that I have spoke with today.

Consumer Complaint: I have recently disputed an account, it was once removed and is now showing up again in my credit report. I have disputed this account again this year and the creditor has reported the information submitted is verified and accurate. I requested validation to verify that this account belongs to me however I received nothing to validate this debt. Also, the account is showing inaccuracies amongst each credit bureau which would be a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 611 ( 5 ) ( A ) of the FCRA. If the account was verified and accurate each bureau would be reporting the same information.
