Consumer Complaint: Unable to access any customer service at Capital One 360. " Contact Us '' link provides no way to contact any customer service. Only offers help articles with false instructions and a phone number with only automated information. Getting a live representative on the phone who will hear and resolve a problem is near impossible. Getting a supervisor or someone with authority to resolve an issue is also near impossible. Nobody will explain anything. Always excuses and long holds making the customer hang up. Could never resolve issue. Capital One is unilaterally closing my account with no explanation or recourse. They acuse me of disrespect and abuse but it is Capital One which has been an abusive and disrespectful banking institution by mismanaging my funds and providing no customer service.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a XXXX payment from XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$640.00} because my family and I were affected by a tornado ( a tree fell through our home ) and we were without power for 6 days ( lost all of our food ). I thought my XXXX was setup with my existing bank which is XXXX XXXX XXXX however ; it ended up going to a Capital One account that was charged off with a negative balance. Reached out to Capital One recover team on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with a supervisor by the name of XXXX employee id # XXXX stated my concern to him and advised him of the disaster that had taken place with my family and I. His exact response was " I apologize but no good news for you these funds belong to Capital One. '' So, I called back and filed a claim with the disputes department to try getting the funds released back to XXXX XXXX XXXX spoke with a young lady by the name of XXXX employee id XXXX submitted the claim and she stated it could take up to 10 days to get a final decision and that I could call in to check on the status if need be ( claim # XXXX ). I also filed a complaint with a lady by the name of XXXX employee id # XXXX to there escalation/ case manager/ case advocate team to investigate this matter and she stated it could take up to 45 days to have this matter resolved ( case # XXXX ). My family and I have no food or anything which is why XXXX XXXX XXXX was assisting us with the {$640.00}. We had to pay XXXX deductible and it left us pretty much broke. How can a company take a families money after a disaster that was all on the news and have no sympathy at all. I tried to get an email to reach the executive/ceo XXXX, but nobody had an email. I reached out to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX as well and a customer service rep stated, " since the XXXX was done through a financial institute they are the ones that have access to reversing the deposit. ''

Consumer Complaint: I have credit cards with XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. The practices of Capital One stand out as deceitful and are designed to make money off of the consumer by charging unfair late fees, interest charges and applying payments to go against accounts that have a lower interest rate or no interest rate rather than against accounts with a higher interest rate and are coming due sooner. For my business account I caught Capital One applying a majority of my monthly payment to my 0.00 % reduced rate promotional balance that was due XX/XX/2023 rather than to my 6 months same as cash promotional balance expiring XX/XX/2023 with an interest rate of 29.74 %. The other credit card companies do not do this! They apply your payment to your first account that is coming due the soonest. Thank goodness I caught this because if I did not, I would have had to pay all of those accrued interest charges. Furthermore Capital One does not allow you to allocate how much of your payment you want allocated to each account online. I had to take time out of my busy day to call Capital One every month to tell them how to apply my payments to my accounts because again, they were applying a majority of my payment each month to the account that wasn't due until XX/XX/2023 with a 0.00 % interest rate instead of applying a majority of my payment to the account coming due XX/XX/2023 with a 29.74 % interest rate. For my personal account with Capital One I was charged a {$29.00} late fee and {$17.00} on my XX/XX/2023 statement for being 2 days late in paying my statement balance that was due XX/XX/2023. Capital One received my payment on XX/XX/2023. Other credit card companies and banks allow up to 15 days for a grace period before they charge a late fee. I made my next payment ( in full and on time ) to Capital One on XX/XX/2023 that included paying the {$29.00} and {$17.00} in fees. As if the {$29.00} late fee and {$17.00} interest charges weren't enough, Capital One assessed me another {$11.00} in interest charges on my XX/XX/2023 statement to further penalize me. The representative told me that it is Capital One 's practice to charge interest charges for 2 months straight as a penalty for being late even though I paid off my entire balance the month before. This is egregious. I've been late two months in a row with other credit card companies ( XXXX, XXXX ) and have had no problem getting my fees waived.
