To my dismay, the bank declined my offer to rectify the situation and instead chose to restrict my access to my direct deposited SSI benefits. The restriction imposed on my account has had severe consequences on my ability to meet my basic needs and financial obligations. The undue hardship caused by the restriction has left me in an extremely vulnerable position and has significantly disrupted my financial stability. Consumer Complaint: I've held savings accounts with Capital One 360 since 2005, when it was ING Direct ( before the Capital One acquisition ). I recently learned that at least twice in that time, they created new savings account types with different names and better interest rates, and they stopped offering the old account types. They did not convert legacy customer accounts to the newer better offerings, nor did they notify customers that they could or should take action to upgrade their accounts. This amounts to a disingenuous bait and switch, which resulted in longtime loyal customers losing out on years of better interest rates. I contacted them to request back interest payments that I missed out on due to my funds having remained in the inferior accounts to date, but they refused. My legacy savings accounts currently show the " Account Type '' as " 360 Savings '', which currently earns 0.30 % APY. The newer and only currently-offered account type is " 360 Performance Savings '', which is currently at 4.15 % APY. That's 13.8x as much as the legacy account.
