Consumer Complaint: About two years ago I had a Capital One credit card. I would use it and pay it off. At one point they held my payment because the felt it was suspicious and so I had funds in limbo for about a week. This, of course, made me angry because nobody could give me a valid reason. It seemed you get in trouble for not paying your bill and now you get in trouble for paying your bill. So the discussion got heated and they closed my credit and my checking account. I just applied again snd received the card Ive used it snd paid it off again. I just got a letter via XXXX stating theyve closed that account again. Obviously I was approved and, like I said, Ive been using it. Until now. I guess Im not sure that a credit card company can take things personally like that and deny somebody a card if they qualify.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for secured credit with Capital One XX/XX/XXXX and was approved with a deposit amount of {$200.00}. I made the deposit XX/XX/XXXX via my checking account. I got a email prior to this call XX/XX/XXXX that the card would be delivered by XX/XX/XXXX. I received a phone call XX/XX/XXXX stating that my information was flagged and I wouldnt be able to use the card nor receive it. I was told to send my drivers license, social security card, utility bills and 3 statements in which I did. The issue at hand is why was this information not requested when I applied for the card prior. Now I have to wait additional time to receive my card which has caused an inconvenience. I applied to help with my credit as Im repairing but they have done this last minute which is outrageous. I sent over the documents that they requested but was told I would have to wait an additional 7-10 business days which is another outrageous process.

Consumer Complaint: I have been banking with Capital One for awhile now and every time I get a XXXX payment from a relative or someone I borrowed money to ( I have proof cause I sent this same person {$150.00} ) they keep red flagging my account and holding my money for days. Both parties are registered with XXXX and have never done anything fraudulent with capital XXXX or XXXX. But capital one keeps red flagging my money. It's not fair to the consumer. I spoke to XXXX and they stated that's what XXXX is for and they are not the ones red flagging my transactions, it's CAPITAL ONE. ITS CASH PAYMENTS AND I HAVE RECEIVED BIGGER DEPOSITS THAT WASN'T FLAGGED. SERMS TO ME CAPITAL ONE FINDING REASON TO JUST HOLD CONSUMERS MONEY FOR PERIODS OF TIME FOR THEY'RE OWN GAIN.

Consumer Complaint: Applied for Capital One Credit online and was approved on XX/XX/2023 for the Platinum card with a balance of {$500.00} at XXXX XXXX interest rate. In XX/XX/2023, I purchased a vehicle that was going to be financed through Capital One also. The first payment for that account was set to be XX/XX/2023. I contracted them on XX/XX/2023 to attempt to have the payment date moved b/c I couldn't log in to pay my car payment and credit card payment. They agreed to move date to end of the month and t he rest of the call was attempting to troubleshoot XXXX computers and XXXX cell phone for logging in. After all the time I have been on the phone with them, I am able to now log into an account, but no accounts are showing on the account. My husbands account is showing my new vehicle, but we are unable to make payments online or set that up. Every time I attempted to have them take a credit card payment, they told me that they are going through an update and that I would have to call back in about XXXX hours to have it processed. The final time was the most upsetting as I just paid my car payment and after being switched over to the Collections Department, they gave me yet again the same answer that they can not process a payment. They said once again that they were going through an update and that they apologized but I would have to try back again later. My car payment has been made I believe 3 times now and without any issues. I am unable to get them to process a credit card payment therefore the account is in bad standing and I have asked for tech support, a manager and more to get this resolved. But nothing. Consumer Complaint: The Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) is all about making sure credit reporting is fair and accurate. When there are violations under the FCRA, it messes up the banking system, which relies on accurate credit reports. Unfair credit reporting can also shake people 's trust in the system. So, if any of my accounts get reported without my permission, that's basically identity theft, and it's a breach of my privacy since I should have control over what's listed. Luckily, there are laws like 15 U.S. Code 1681b ( 2 ) and 15 U.S. Code 1681c-2 that protect me. This is a violation of both 15 U.S. Code 1681b ( 2 ) and 15 U.S. Code 1681c-2. This leads to civil liability against the credit reporting agency for negligent and willful noncompliance under 15 U.S. Code 1681n, which allows for {$1000.00} per violation, for accounts listed without my expressed written consent. These accounts are not related to any transactions made by me, the consumer.
