Consumer Complaint: A notarized/certified letter requesting validation of debt / proof of claim which by Federal Law I am authorized to do, was sent To : Capital One Attn : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Capital One XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX I believe because of the information I was specifically requesting would show full disclosure of a debt not owed and possible security fraud my account closed immediately after. Adverse action was taking against me and as a retaliation Capital One closed my account out. I have other accounts with Capital One that are open and have no issue with doing business. Therefore I am unclear as to how " activity on the account is not consistent with their expectations ... '' This was indicated in a response computer generated letter dated XX/XX/2023, without an officer signature as I also requested. The exactly activity needs to be fully disclosed to me which is also a Federal Law in which Capital One again chooses to not abided by. I then filed a complaint because my account should not have been closed nor did I give Capital One permission at anytime to report my information for the 3 Credit Bureaus. On XX/XX/2023 yet again a computer generated letter was sent stating my account has been placed into cease and desist, which means that Capital One will not communicate with me to collect on any debt owed. Again Capital One goes against Federal guidelines and I have statements each month since then requesting to pay on a debt. I should not be receiving anything communication.

Consumer Complaint: I recently called Capital One regarding fraudulent charges made to my Capital One credit card. The charges posted on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX in the amounts of {$54.00}, {$7.00}, and {$35.00} respectively. During the call, it was identified there were subscription charges in the amount of {$14.00} monthly beginning XX/XX/2022 and other unknown charges. I advised the Capital One rep, that these were fraudulent charges, not authorized by me, and certainly not made by me- I do not hold an XXXX account. The card was closed and a replacement card was ordered. The CaptialOne rep explained that there would be temporary credits to my credit card account however, the temporary credits will not be reflected in the balance until the investigation is complete. I received correspondence from CaptialOne explaining that there was insufficient evidence and that the temporary charges would be applied to the account leaving a balance of {$220.00}. NO details were included in the letter of the efforts of a thorough investigation. I am not responsible for these charges and CapitalOne needs to do a better job at performing a credible investigation and advocating for its clients against Fraud like XXXX.

Under Act 15 U.S.C. 1681 Section 602 states " I have the right to privacy ''. 15 U.S.C. 1681 Section 604a Section 2 also states " a consumer reporting agency can not furnish an account without my written instructions ''. Under 15 U.S.C. 1666B " a creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open and consumer credit plan as late for any purpose ''.

Consumer Complaint: I have been with Capital One for XXXX years and they have closed both my checking and credit cards. My banking account was closed in XXXX with no real explanation of why other than violating terms and conditions. I was not advised by letter or email on the closure. I went to my app and that was how I was notified. I also have 2 credit cards with them and on XX/XX/XXXX both of my credit cards were closed and I did not receive any notice yet again. When I tried to call to get more information I was advised that it was due to a return payment in XXXX. When asked why I was being penalized for something that happened a year ago I was told I did not follow terms and conditions.
