They are adversing a rewards program that can't be accessed - locking consumers into an annual fee with rewards that are not available in full.

Consumer Complaint: A few weeks ago my card number was entered incorrectly on the bed, Bath, and beyond website, and Capital One decided to restrict my account. I called Capital One and asked why my account was restricted and told them that my girlfriend accidentally entered the card number wrong when placing an order and all of a sudden my account was restricted. Capital One said it was a fraud investigation and I would have to wait 7 to 10 days to speak with a specialist. The Specialist contacted me and told me I had to submit pictures of my drivers license, Social Security card, and proof of residence to prove who I was. Once I submitted all those documents, the specialist called me back, and then said they wanted to speak to my bank. After I got upset that they were trying to make me jump through more hoops after I already provided the information, they unrestricted my account. Now were two weeks later, and my account is restricted again, and I have to go through the same hoops, and prove who I am all over again once I wait 7 to 10 days to hear from another specialist with no reasoning of why my account is restricted again other than security concerns about identity. Ive been with Capital One for over 10 years and have never experienced anything like this before. The only difference now is I have a lot of miles ( rewards ) saved up, and now my account is always being restricted without clear explanations of why.

Consumer Complaint: contacted XXXX to check my credit rating and learned my score is only XXXX because the Capital One false information is still on my record with all the credit companies and this is causing me financial hardships when getting quotes for homeowners and auto insurance. I have refuted Capital One 's claim and they have never provided the one piece of proof that will support my claim that I don't owe them anything. Also, this issue goes back many years to the actual incident. But Capital One has repeatedly moved the date each time they contacted me or their collection agency called me. This process needs consumer financial revision. The game they are playing is against consumers unfairly and shouldn't be allowed. What Capital One has done in this case is ignore the truth. I shouldn't have to hire an attorney to get this corrected. This complaint is on-going and CFPB should step up and make Capital One provide the " recorded conversation between me and their office representative who correctly said I was not responsible and not to worry I would not be charged for the fraud. '' Consumers deserve honest treatment.

Consumer Complaint: I am refiling this complaint another time to CAPITAL ONE for allowing the fraudulent account and for not correcting this on my credit report. I filed an FTC report for this another complaint, with the identity theft report number XXXX. As I checked my credit report this fraudulent account is still reflected on my credit report. I was expecting that I they will correct this erroneous account and to provide accurate credit reports. This account had multiple inaccurate information on my credit report the payment history, date of late payments, payment status, date of last payment, and violation under FCRA policy. I have again attached the FTC report together with my drivers license and proof of address, should this be deleted in my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: I received business funds for my business in my personal account and Capital one decided to end the business relationship and return those funds to whom they were sent from. They were unable so they sent them to the IL state XXXX, which I complied with. After that was done a remaining balance of {$250.00} was left in my account, it has been over XXXX and i have yet to hear back from anyone in regards to the matter. Each time I call Im given run arounds that never resolve my issue! Today I was told they have no time limit on an investigation but theyve already decided to terminate relationship so how is there still an ongoing investigation? Funds were already sent to the state, SO HOW IS THERE AN INVESTIGATION? Theyve stated the account isnt closed but I have no access to my money, I can still log into the account and view it, I am also still receiving bank statements as if the account is still open! CAPITAL ONE IS MAKING MONEY DAILY FROM MY FUNDS AND ITS BEEN OVER XXXX YEARS! The relation was terminated XX/XX/XXXX XXXX. The account is still open as of XX/XX/2023. Thats over XXXX, WHO INVESTIGATES THAT LONG ON AN ACCOUNT THAT HAS BEEN TERMINATED ALREADY? I call b.s and this is stealing! I was able to login until I called them today XX/XX/2023, now its saying its blocked for too many login attempts when thats a lie. Ive attached the pic of them saying such thing!
