Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I had a XXXX 's membership, it automatically renewed to my debit card. I opened a credit card account but never activated the card. When XXXX 's stopped using XXXX Bank and started with Capitol One, they opened an account with my name and charged the XXXX 's membership to this card, I have not received a card nor activated an account. The statement does not even have an account number on it. I called Capitol One and they referred me to XXXX 's I discussed it with them and they said that is not on us but on Capitol One. I then went into the store and discussed it with the store manager, she gave me a different number to call. I called that number and was told to contact XXXX 's. I called back to Capitol One and was on the phone with them about an hour, constantly being handed off to another supervisor that could " handle the situation '' after being forwarded to the forth supervisor and being on hold for another twenty minutes I hung up. The next day I called back and went thru a similar scenario whereas I hung up again. I then contacted the credit bureaus XXXX and XXXX and reported it to them, obviously a worthless move. This fraudulent charge has resulted in credit score degradation and for a {$55.00} dollar unauthorized charge to date a charge of {$110.00} in interest and fees.

Consumer Complaint: I made a purchase at XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. I requested a full refund by XXXX. They agreed and said I would see my money I'm 3-5 business days. After the time passed and no refund I called XXXX. They said refund was issued and received at Capital One XX/XX/XXXX, they also provided a tracking number to give Capital One. I called Capital One and again asked about my refund. I was told no refund was issued and that number was not a number they could use. I waited a few more days, no refund so I filed a dispute with Capital One to request my refund. A few days later I called capital one and asked where I can submit proof XXXX said they refunded me. I was then told XXXX did infect refund me but Capital One blocked the refund and I needed to call XXXX back. I again called XXXX and was told NO, we refunded and didn't get anything back. I called Capital One again and was told call XXXX they have your money. I asked XXXX to escalate this to a manager and was declined. I did a 3 way call with XXXX and Capital One with both companies finger pointing blame. The customer in the middle with no refund or product! I was told by both companies this would be escalated to managers for review. I followed up with Capital One again today and now I'm being told it was never escalated I now have to go through the 45 waiting period while the dispute is invested. I advised its no longer a dispute my money needs to be released ro me. I was told my card is blocked and they can not give me my money back I need to call XXXX again. I have spent almost 3 weeks going back and forth. My refund is just sitting somewhere and it's unfair that I'm being asked to chase these companies for the money that belongs to me

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to get ahold of Capital One for now 3 months regarding my cards. I'm locked out of my online account bc I changed my phone number. When I call I get bounced between MULTIPLE representatives and placed on hold where they can't seem to find my info. Today I finally had enough when I was sent to a company who I've already paid bc they didn't have the right info even after providing them with all of my personal information

Consumer Complaint: I went to pay my monthly bill and the amounts offered were total balance and instead of having the last statement balance ( as had always been offered before ) there was a new amount offered. It was {$20.00} less than my last statement balance. ( This is the payment amount that would have been made had I not made a payment to prevent a late fee ). This is a change that is deceptive and meant to intentionally cause the customer to under pay and incur an interest charge. I had always paid the last statement balance offered on the bill paying platform and then cancelled the automatic payment. The new paying format offers the amount on the last statement balance minus the automatic payment. This caused my last statement to be under paid by {$20.00} and an interest charge of {$16.00}. This is a deceptive change and it caused me to incur an interest charge that I should not have been charged.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2023, Capital One closed my credit card account unexpectedly. At the time my account was closed, I had been a client with them for XXXX years. In that time, I had never missed or made a late credit card payment. Once my account was closed, Capital One made my entire balance of {$10000.00} due and my minimum payment amount increased. The amount was not a manageable amount for my financial situation, so I contacted customer service at XXXX on Monday, XX/XX/2023 and requested a payment arrangement. I was told that since my account was closed, they were not going to grant me any arrangements and the minimum amount would need to be paid. Then, on XX/XX/2023, I wrote the CEO ( XXXX XXXX ) by email and was contacted by his staff who also denied assisting me with a payment arrangement or credit reporting goodwill adjustment. Capital One reported a " 30 day late '' payment status in XXXX and a " 60 day late '' payment status in XXXX. These late payments are a direct violation to the FCRA consumer law 15 USC 1681 ( d ) ( 2 ) ( A ) ( i ) which states that the consumer 's credit report is exempt from sharing payment experiences or transactions between the consumer and the creditor. Capital One is in direct violation of this law and refuses to change the payment experience they reported to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX.
