Consumer Complaint: Capital One pre-approved my application for a XXXX card that gives a bonus points of XXXX points after spending {$4000.00} in 90 days. After completing the requirement, they put the XXXX points in my account. Two weeks after, they closed the account on XX/XX/2023. I intended to transfer the points to one of their airline partners ( XXXX XXXX ) but was not able to. Apparently, there was an activity in the past that they did not approve. But with due diligence, they should not approve applicants who they believe dont. conform with their policies. I believe the points I earned belong to me and if they dont. want us to do business in the future, thats their prerogative. They should restore my points and then they could do whatever they want.

Consumer Complaint: Capital One is the worst! Over two months ago my replacement credit card never arrived, so when they sent an email to verify its arrival I responded that it hadnt. The next I heard from them was an early morning phone call ; to my wife, not me the actual account owner, who then told them to call me. Well, they then told me that over {$2000.00} was charged to my account and asked me to prove who I was to rectify the issue. They asked for a government issued id with a picture, social security card and proof of residence. I was sent a link to send the documents to which I immediately did. Next morning another call saying they couldnt read some of the docs so I sent them all again. Now two months later another early morning call to my wife from Capital One who once again asked why call her and not me. Another call ten minutes later to me this time telling me that fraudulent charges were made on my card and I needed to verify who I was again to prove that I hadnt made those purchases. They would not even tell me where, when, or the extent of the charges made tellingly me they couldnt tell me. I explained to the representative, who I could barely understand cause her accent was so thick ( calling me from XXXX XXXX XXXX, I live in the USA by the way ) that all this had been done already two months ago with all the requested documentation already sent to them. However, I was told that I needed to send them again. No reason why or explanation was given and that they couldnt answer any of My questions without the documentation. Once again I sent them all the requested documents to their secure fraud investigation site. Today my wife got called again instead of me and told them to call me. When they eventually called me ( again someone I could barely understand ) I was told that I needed to resend some of the documents because they couldnt read them ( perhaps if they had representatives from the USA they might be understandable and could read documents in English! ). I have to add at this point that I have high end equipment and all of the documentation I have sent are 100 % perfectly clear and easy enough for my XXXXXXXX year old grandson to read.Of course the exact same documentation they said they could not read this time had been received by them two months ago and verified by me ( I called Capital Ones fraud division ) that they had gotten them and were all acceptable.So here I am, two months later exactly where I started off. Lost card, no replacement, and fraudulent charges to my account.To say that Capital One is INCOMPETENT is an understatement! If I could afford it, Id take out a full page newspaper add in XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX to let the world know how bad Capital One is.XXXX : I had some fraudulent activity on my XXXX XXXX years ago and it was immediately resolved with one 15 minute phone call and a replacement card was mailed and received within three days of the phone call.This Capital One account was only opened as a completely independent account to write checks and to receive government issued payments. I assume they knew already that they were losing the BJs accounts so they schemed on how they could bilk us before they lost the market share so they fraudulently made my autmatic monthly payment late by crediting it after XXXX on the due date instead of during the day as it be set to do for years. I had my legal councel attemp to remedy this and stil no relief. This is the letter to comenity : Please reference our File Number XXXX when Replying Customer Service XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, OH XXXX XXXX : XXXX XXXX Comenity BJs Wholesale XXXX XXXX XXXX No. : XXXX Dear Customer Service : I am writing this letter on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have discussed this matter with XXXX XXXX, and as a result, XXXX XXXX hereby makes the demands stated below. As a result of your companys actions, XXXX XXXX demands that he receive a refund in the amount of {$260.00} for interest payments and a foreign currency fee. According to XXXX XXXX XXXX, on XX/XX/2022, the automatic payment did not come out of his account. He called when he received the paper statement and discovered that the payment was not made. XXXX XXXX XXXX account has been set on automatic payment and electronic statement for years. Your company informed him that a new system was installed and that caused the problem. The finance charge posted to his account on XX/XX/XXXX when payment was made on the right day, but after XXXX. This made that payment late even though XXXX XXXX had not changed anything about the automatic payments. He called and requested to speak to a supervisor on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with XXXX who gave him case number XXXX. XXXX told him that the payment was received after XXXX. He called several more times and he was not given any help. He was informed that it would take XXXX ( XXXX ) days to review the case. As you are aware, it is past 90 days and he has not received a resolution. XXXX XXXX is requesting a refund based on the following : XXXX Interest : {$140.00} XXXX Interest : {$260.00} Foreign Currency Fee : {$3.00} Total : {$260.00} XXXX XXXX is very upset by his treatment regarding this account. He is XXXX of your companys long-term customers and was not notified of a new system upgrade that turned off his automatic payments. XXXX XXXX has taken his payments off of auto due to the lack of trust he now has with your company. He now pays well in advance each month since this incident occurred. It is XXXX XXXX position that he was deliberately targeted because he carries a high balance each month ; although he pays it off each and every month without failure. Consumer Complaint: I received notification via email on XX/XX/XXXX from Capital One that my credit card account was closed due to inactivity and responded that I did not want the account closed. I planned on making a significant purchase with this card in the next month. The closure of the account caused a drop in credit score and significant loss of credit line. I contacted Capital One via phone on XX/XX/XXXX to see if the account could be up and running again and was told no, the account is permanently closed and nothing can be done.
