Consumer Complaint: Today I received a e-mail from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that I was pre-approved for a Capital One credit card and that through their portal I could find out which cards I was approved. In addition, I was told that there would be no effect/inquiry to my credit file. I went to their confidential portal and with the pre-loaded information, I was pre approved for two separate cards. At this time, Capital One required more information to proceed with the pre approval. I completed it. Once again, in the process, I was pre approved for either of the cards, in addition, there would be no inquiry to my credit report. To my suprise, I received a private e-mail from Capital One requesting that they needed proof of me by supplying my drivers license, social security card or passport. I currently have other credit cards and never have they asked for personal and confidential information XXXX given to them. I believe this is either a scam or fraud. In addition, I have the documentation available to review. I hold XXXX equally responsible for false advertising regarding this " preapproval '' Capital One credit card.

Consumer Complaint: Capital One Quick silver I have sent my DL and copy of my ssn in branch, faxed, uploaded everything since XXXX when I took out a auto loan with capital one and that started this mess. I am XXXX XXXX XXXX born in XXXX in XXXX of XXXX I did not receive a ssn until XXXX. This Quick Silver account was open XX/XX/XXXX partial acct # XXXX ... credit limit {$6300.00} with a balance of {$5700.00} I would have been XXXX XXXX XXXX and 10 years before even qualifying to have a ssn. I dispute and all capital one does is verify the amount and expect me to pay an account that's not mine. They have also shut down and restricted one of my Quicksilver credit cards because of this and blocked me from allowing me to make payments on my card though the years causing late payments when they somewhat get it together and allow me some access to make payments. My credit and when I banked with capital one, my bank info with them also got mixed together with this other customers ' I have been given access to her ( s ) account though out the years yet no one can understand its not me this other customers account is even in a different language.

Consumer Complaint: It's a brand new Capital One card. I made my first payment when due and then another payment some days later. I received confirmation that the payments were received, processed and posted. When I went to used the card it declined. I looked up my availability amount and it no longer reflected the previously paid amount. I called to inquire why and was told they put a hold on my payment due to fraudulent looking activity ( but never contacted me ). When asked what looks fraudulent, I was told because I made back to back payments. I was told they will not release the funds for 6 days and was advised that I shouldn't make payments outside of the due term time. I'm being punished for paying my bill more than asked? And being inconvenienced by not having access to needed funds. I told them its fraud to show and confirm that my payments were processed when it wasn't.

Consumer Complaint: Fraudulent transaction occurred on my Kohls account form around {$250.00}. I called XX/XX/21 to report this information. The card was closed and I eventually received the credit, however it has been almost 6 weeks and I am still without a card. Every-time I call, they inform me that it has been cancelled and a replacement card has been sent. This has happened 3 pr 4 times. No one can tell my why It keeps getting cancelled or by who. It is not by me and I have informed them of this. It makes me VERY nervous to know what is happening w my information and why I can't get a card sent to me for my replacement. I asked one representative to close the account, because at this point I am unsure of how to protect my information. She told me I could not because there is a balance which is incorrect. They say they can't overnight a card, nor tell me what is happening w my information. This is terrible business and fraud.

Consumer Complaint: Capital One credit card I had originally on my closed account call it account XXXX of {$280.00} it went up to {$290.00} for a full pay off I paid the {$290.00} in full I will download the online reciept, ive tried to send the conformation reciept that I paid through XXXX several times it will not let me load it except once the company keeps stating there information is correct I have a new different account XXXX I with Capital One credit card that is a totally different account I paid {$95.00} dollars for a secured card that in there policy states after XXXX to 9 months I would receive the {$95.00} as a credit towards my bill for my # XXXX open account that I owe nothing on its been 2 years ive yet to receive that temporary deposit for the # XXXX open account, also Capital One credit card mixes my closed # XXXX credit card account payments with my # XXXX open account payments I want the {$290.00} XXXX they charges me for the old # XXXX Capital One credit card account off my credit report immediately the dates are all in accurate for the XXXX I've opened my first card with them if you ask for there account dates and payments it's shows even though I owed {$280.00} for the first card they opened another card while I owed them for the first account that they claim I did not pay I have the reciept reference number date amount {$290.00} XXXX.
