Consumer Complaint: I wanted to pay off the card for a reduced amount because I have been paying on this card for years about {$100.00} a month. And I haven't used it for at least three years or more as well but the amount go up or stay the same. I know I used the card and the money. But I asked them for a little help with a smaller payment for a few months they wanted more. So I stared making payments I could afford and they close the account so I couldn't make any payments. So I was getting a home equity loan to pay off the card and I called in for a amount they would take to close the account. I got an amount but I'm XXXX and I have XXXX and I had a XXXX after I talked to them and I can't find the amount I wrote down. And now they want me to go back to making payments even smaller ones now. I feel they are taking advantage of me I just want to be done with them. They force me to use my SSN # after I gave them all the information they asked for.

Consumer Complaint: I have been a Capital One customer for years in many different capacities. But, I am really frustrated with Capital One because I have been unable to use my card for any purchases recently due to them claiming to suspect potential fraud. While I appreciate that they are keeping my account secure, they are going completely overboard. Most recently, they wanted a bank statement from my bank because I like to use the card and pay it off to avoid any interest charges and to be able to make big purchases when need be. Also, their customer support department is HORRIBLE and they love to give misinformation and nobody cares. It seems like Capital Ones customer support department can get away with saying anything when it could be incorrect because they are from a different country and they dont understand XXXX as well as we do. And whenever I try and get a XXXX based agent which is my right per my card member agreement, they make me feel guilty for doing so. Its such a shame now that Capital One is the worst bank Ive ever dealt with and I would not even want my worst enemies to apply for accounts with Capital One.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I filed a CFPB complaint against Capital One ( CFPB # XXXX ). They refused to return my deposits ( {$130.00} ) from XXXX despite providing them with evidence, which included XXXX 's own policy of temporarily withholding {$50.00} on the credit card for XXXX week that would be returned to me ( attached ... .again ). They sent you - CFPB - a copy of a letter addressed to me ( attached ), stating : " On XX/XX/XXXX, we issued a goodwill credit of {$130.00} to your account ''. In which you XXXX- closed the case. However, no credit was extended to me at all. When I called today ( XX/XX/XXXX ), I got same old song and dance that prompted the original complaint : they took XXXX 's side. I asked Capital One to provide me information XXXX had provided them that disputed my claim. They can not do so because they don't have it. They have the same REFUND POLICY from XXXX that I have. So essentially, Capital One lied so that the original case could be closed.

Consumer Complaint: I swear the only way to get a resolution on the bank side is filing CFPB complaint or I'll never hear back, this is a poor customer experience and bad business practice. Bad enough I'm unemployed due to lay off, but I've yet to receive any unemployment funds or help from the bank. I've done the majority of the work for the bank, I cant find my own money or we wouldn't be having this conversation. I set up direct deposit and checks were confirmed sent but no deposit received to date. I was able to confirm routing #, but not acct # with the company. It's possible they didn't provide the acct # when checks were sent and the payment is abandoned. I contacted C1 on XX/XX/XXXX and provided the information below with no response, update, research information, nothing. I had to opt for their prepaid debit card in the meantime to access other funds, huge inconvenience because now I have to transfer those funds and wait 2 more days. This is impacting my ability to pay other bills.
