Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I am writing to express my deep concern regarding recent inaccuracies identified in my credit report associated with the above account number. Specifically, the " date last active '' information being reported by Capital One appears to be inaccurate and requires urgent correction. As per the Congressional findings and statement of purpose outlined in 15 USC 1681, accuracy and fairness of credit reporting are crucial components for the proper functioning of the banking system. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine public confidence, essential for continued operations. This letter serves as a final notice and an opportunity for Capital One to address and correct the identified inaccuracies promptly. Failure to take corrective action will leave me with no alternative but to pursue civil and criminal liability under 15 USC 1681n, which allows for penalties of {$1000.00} per violation. Additionally, I would like to draw attention to the potential criminal liability outlined in 15 U.S. Code 1611, emphasizing the consequences for willfully providing false information or failing to comply with necessary requirements.

Consumer Complaint: I was given a complete statement sheet that showed every debit charged to my account and credit that I paid towards this card. This Excel sheet was provided by Capital One. The Excel sheet shows a difference from what Capital One says my account balance is. I've contacted 3 customer service agents and 3 managers with the company, and none of these people could acknowledge that capital one could make an accounting error.
