I happened to apply to several work study programs and internships to help pay tuition. In this email I was asked to provide some details such as my name and Banks ive used. The check provided below was for {$950.00} dollars. Over time I caught on to the scam as he was asking me to send money without the check being cleared. But now my account with Capital One has already been restricted. I called the day of to get the check disputed but I was told it was still processing and would be available on the XX/XX/XXXX where I could go about disputing the check. Today XX/XX/XXXX I was told my account has been restricted and Based on the results of our review, your account ( XXXX ) XXXX be closed and your balanceplus all interest earnedwill be transferred to your externally linked checking account. Please if there is any information or details needed to prove this was a honest mistake and I was scammed I would gladly provide anything needed. Consumer Complaint: I closed my account because they added an annual fee of {$39.00}. I owed {$11.00} in interest. They will not let me pay the interest only. They want me to pay their annual membership fee in addition to the {$11.00} interest. Then after 90 days they will mail me a refund for the membership fee. I paid my total account balance on XX/XX/2023. This is ridiculous. Let me pay the interest I owe and remove the annual membership fee.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX personal debit card from Capital One was stolen, and i was defrauded for {$320.00} from an unknown ATM two purchases for {$17.00} were made, unauthorized as my card was stolen previously in the day a mobile deposit was placed into my account, for the amount of {$950.00} COMPLETELY unauthorized, presumably with the intent to defraud me even more. after speaking with the capital one customer protection resolution team, they told me that the account will be closed, and my relationship with capital one has ended. now here is the most vile part. At the time of writing this complaint, there is {$740.00} in said account. as well as a pending {$320.00} for the claim that the thieves stole from my account. capital one refuses to release my funds to me, either electronically, or physically. i live in XXXX XXXX nevada. there is no capital one branch within 500 miles. employee ID XXXX from capital one said and i quote i have nothing else to tell you. you cant access your money now. you will have to wait the 90 days to get your money back. i believe this is especially heinous and unjust, seeing as i was a customer of capital one, seeing as my situation of being defrauded and essentially robbed of my money, and capital one basically telling me to kick rocks.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a savings account with XXXX over a decade ago due to the high-yield savings account. They changed to Capital One a few years back. I believed I was in the high yield savings account collecting the highest interest offere. When I check my account I realized I was only collecting .5 % interest and not the 4.3 they advertised. All these years I was under the impression I was in the high yield savings account, the only one offered. The Capital one representative informed me that a few years back they introduced a new " high yield '' savings account that was the one that was actually collecting the highest interest rate. I have been saving money for the last 3 years thinking I was collecting the highest they offered. I was never informed that I had to actually open up a new savings account to get their high interest rate. This is shady and tricky! How many people who have been with that bank for decades are unaware that the older savings account is no longer the high yield account? I am so disappointed. As a single parent, I thought I Was doing the best thing with my money only to find out my bank did a switch on me and never communicated with me the change. I have lost out on thousands of dollars of interest! Check your account if you started with capital one when they were XXXX!
