Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem making or receiving payments
Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I received a written offer from Capitol One to open a 360Checking account and make two deposits of {$250.00} or more each within 60 days and be entitled to receive a bonus of {$350.00}. I opened the account and made my first deposit of {$250.00} on XX/XX/XXXX followed by another deposit on XX/XX/. In XX/XX/XXXX I called to ask about the bonus when the bank representative told me everything is perfect but the bonus will be paid 60 days after the second deposit date. On XX/XX/, sixty days after the second deposit another representative told me again all is perfect and that I will be called on XX/XX/XXXX about it. No one called so I called on XX/XX/XXXX when the rep told me that I don't qualify for bonus because the deposit should have come from some other recurring sources which was not mentioned before during account opening process or during the calls I made to their help desk. Obviously this is a fraudulent act thru which the bank managed to collect money, increase capital, increase number of accounts and number of customers

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Captial one sent me a notification asking if I made a purchase from XXXX toll and I contacted them to inform them that I did not. My account ending in XXXX was closed and I was given a new account ending in XXXX. They refunded the amount {$120.00}. The following month XXXX submitted the same amount and it was approved. I contacted Capital One about this and questioned how this was possible when the same transaction was supposed to be blocked from going through and the company didnt have the new credit card information. They were unable to explain this other than saying they may have a program that allows them to find the new account number. I communicated that the charge was not supposed to be authorized. After their investigation they added the charge back and now my account is over the limit.

Consumer Complaint: Multiple transactions that were not supposed to be approved on an account that closed. Account ending in XXXX XXXX- {$51.00} on XX/XX/13 and XX/XX/13 ; I have addressed this and assigned a new account number ending in XXXX. XX/XX/13 has not been refunded. This company was supposed to be blocked and they do not have the new credit card information. XXXX {$14.00} - I communicated this to XXXX XXXX but they told me the charge came from the account ending in XXXX. It did not because this information is not attached to the XXXX account.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: I applied for a business account credit card. I received a letter and email communication that I needed to provide certain documents. I explained to the representative that I have moved and the information has my po box and old physical address on it. I also explained to him that I tried to enter my previous business address but the system would not validate it to proceed. I expressed my frustration about this impacting my credit and explained that I am a Counselor and I do virtual counseling for my business. I talked to a supervisor and he communicated that they can not remove the inquiry and they treated me as if I were lying.

Subissue: Overcharged for something you did purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I purchased food from an XXXX XXXX XXXX ( which uses camera to detect what people took and automatically charges the customer ) on XX/XX/2023. However, I was overcharged for something I didn't purchase - I was handing over a burger to someone else but the camera thought I was the one buying it. After realizing this, I tried to contact the store but because it was XXXX, I got no response. So I contacted Capital One instead to get back the overcharged portion. Capital One received my request along with the evidence but denied it without any meaningful investigation.
