Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I paid my balance off with capital one of {$1400.00}. I was not aware that they had been charging a variable APR of 32.24 %. I just so happen to login to my account and realized that they charged me {$26.00} on a XXXX balance stating that they charge interest at the end of the month and that its not included in the balances. I asked to have this removed as a courtesy because my balance was XXXX when they charged me. I was told there was nothing that they could do and the supervisor named XXXX that I spoke with was more than happy to close my account without offering any alternatives except to set my account up on auto pay. Now why would I do that with an account that has a XXXX balance?

Consumer Complaint: Contacted via telephone on XX/XX/ by a document delivery service regarding the need to serve me documents from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX Texas regarding a civil lawsuit for an unpaid credit card bill from XXXX from Capital One Bank for {$6000.00} +. This is the first time i have ever heard of this situation or debt. I have never owned a credit card in my life besides a XXXX XXXX more then 25+ years ago that was closed out with no balance 25+ years ago. I have not worked in well over 15 years therefore have had no income until just maybe 3 years ago which is XXXX XXXX. I was told the application had a copy of my drivers license and social security card in it. I have no idea how my information was stolen, who opened a card in my name, what income they used as i had none nor how i was just notified. I am XXXX, on a fixed income, own my home per an awarded judgment in a divorce and I am now being told that this XXXX XXXX XXXX wants to put a lean on my home. I have no money for an attorney, have no where to live besides my home and have never owned this credit card.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX I applied for a credit card at capital one website. As you may be aware, it is against federal law in accordance with Equal Credit Opportunity Act to proclaim an adverse action against a consumer. Pursuant to 15 U.S Code 1691 ( C ) you assume civil liability pursuant to 15 U.S Code 1691 ( K ). Capital One has violated my federally protected consumer rights : 15 U.S Code 1642 which clearly states " No credit card shall be issued except in response to a request or application therefor. This prohibition does not apply to the issuance of a credit card in renewal of, or in substitution for, an accepted credit card. '' I attached a letter that was sent to me dated XXXX XXXX XXXX that is both proof and evidence that I have been discriminated against, therefore that makes capital one criminally liable. Capital One is to resort to reasonable procedures to rectify this affair and compensate me for the use of MY securities. Otherwise, if not rectified, this would be considered securities fraud since I have received NO BENEFIT.

Consumer Complaint: This first paragraph gives a synopsis of the issue, and the following paragraphs are part of the dispute letter submitted to Capital One, XXXX XXXX. We have attempted many times, beginning XX/XX/2023 to contact the rental car company with whom we have an upcoming reservation. They have been unresponsive as outlined below so we opened a dispute with our credit card company. We were provided an initial credit while the dispute was investigated, but after our card company was able to reach the rental car company 's financial institution ( but not the company itself ), they reversed the credit and denied our claim. Subsequently, each dispute service representative requests that we send them more or different information, we comply, and then receive the same form letter which states that we did not supply the requested information and therefore our dispute case is closed, and we should contact the merchant if we'd like to continue our attempt to dispute the charge. They've also requested that we get a cancellation from the merchant in order for them to accept our dispute. The merchant 's policy states they do not allow cancellations, we want a modification and not a cancellation, AND the rental car company isn't reachable so you can imagine our frustration. We have been unable to contact the merchant despite multiple attempts and hours of trying, Their posted schedule, located on our receipt is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX hours ( XXXX XXXX ) 365 days of the yea ( sic ), yet calls to their phone number go unanswered or are disconnected, XXXX messages are not responded to, and emails receive no response. What we paid for is not as described, and their stated policies are not honored. We understand they have a no cancellation policy, and we are not attempting a cancellation. They have a responsibility to respond to customers who have questions or would like to make use of their cancellation and reservation policy, the relevant part of which is cut from our receipt and pasted below : Cancellation of reservations and no show Reservations with Online payment are non-refundable but may be used at a later date than originally reserved ( 12 months of validity ), as long as the change is made through the customer service center 48 hours before the reserved date to pick up the car for rent. Any modification on the dates, destination or category may generate additional costs depending on the current fare of the requested destination in the corresponding period. We would like to modify our reservation per their policy, but they have not answered XXXX calls, emails, or regular phone calls. Again, we understand their no cancellation policy, but we do expect to be able to communicate with them prior to arrival in XXXX XXXX to make modifications. This breach of contract is the reason we are requesting a credit. At this point, we have made an alternative, fully refundable reservation with another car company because we dont have faith that the original merchant will even have a car for us when we arrive, and we cant take that chance. Please credit our account the amount paid : {$300.00}.

Consumer Complaint: tried transfering some of my points to an XXXX XXXX XXXX The website said i had to go through a phone verification, but it didn't work, so it said to call in to fix. I called to get help, but they said that that they can't verify my account to transfer the points out since my phone number is part of a family account and in my mother 's name. I asked if i can transfer the points over the phone and they said they can't get past this. They told me to try redeeming other ways like to redeem for gift cards etc. Issue is that I specifically got this card to be able to access XXXX XXXX. This is how the card is advertised. It never stated anywhere on their website that in order to transfer points out, I would need to have a cellphone account in my personal name. The fact that they offer no alternative to verification like perhaps uploading gov id, provide an SSN etc, appears to be a significant misrepresentation of the product being offered and creates an undue burden. I am sure that i am not the only person in the XXXX that has a phone as part of a family plan where the phone is not in their name.
