Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Funds not received from closed account
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, Capital One closed my checking account when I was trying to send a wire out. They said it was because they thought that I was wiring it to a cryptocurrency firm, which was incorrect because I was transferring it to my own XXXX XXXX account. They closed my account with no ability to reopen it. They told me they needed to investigate the funds to see if they were good, and would send me the funds once they determined that the funds were good funds. XX/XX/XXXX - i called to get a status check, they said i would get the funds relatively soon. XXXX - i called again and did not get an updated status check. XXXX - i called again and got no estimated time of completion for the investigation. XXXXXXXX - they told me the investigation was still on going and they had no ETA. It's now XX/XX/XXXXXXXX and I still have not heard back from them. They are holding {$3900.00} without any notification of when I'd get it back.

Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: I have several inquiries on my credit report that were not authorized and are unknown. Ive tried disputing with the companies, but I was told to dispute with the credit bureaus. I've disputed with the credit bureaus several times, but they have not removed those inquiries. I have not given my authorization for the inquiries, and I do not recognize any of the companies. I have not applied for new credit ( house, car, nor credit card ). Ive asked for them to send me written proof of my signature of authorization, but they can not provide this information. I would like for these inquiries to be removed from my credit report for all reporting bureaus.

Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I filed bankruptcy on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX and the bankruptcy was discharged on XX/XX/XXXX. In that bankruptcy This Capital One account XXXX was included in a judgment of discharge on XX/XX/XXXX. There are no monies owed under this account and shows as a charge off and closed until I submitted a dispute with all 3 credit bureaus. Now it appears on my credit as money owed which is invalid. No monies are owed. As of XX/XX/XXXX, I mistakenly signed an agreement stating repayment on a card that I was not aware at the time of signing that it was the same card that was part of a past bankruptcy filed and discharged. I did not do the proper investigation or research before signing the agreement. Additionally I didn't know that legally a company can attempt to collect money after a bankruptcy has been discharged which is the reason why I assumed this was a valid debt before doing a thorough investigation myself. Upon pulling my credit in XXXX, XXXX, I found that this account was discharge and appearing at a XXXX balance. My reasons for filing the dispute even though my credit showed no balance owed was because I was making monthly payments on a debt that was charged off and wanted to be relieved of that agreement. I asked XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to have the agreement I signed dissolved and void due to my investigation. I have since contacted both Capital One and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX disputing this amount I'm being sued for. I have provided all documents to support my bankruptcy filing and advised that the contract to be terminated. I have not received any callbacks from either Capital One or XXXX XXXX XXXX regarding this dispute. I'm asking to have this amount removed from my Credit and show no balances owed as it did initially before submitting a dispute with all 3 credit bureaus without any notes to be added to the closed account and charged off. I'm also asking to have all agreements dissolved.

Consumer Complaint: The outstanding balance on the card was paid on XX/XX/2023. On XX/XX/2023, almost XXXX XXXX later, the payment reversed and {XXXX} was re-applied to the outstanding balance owed. This account is now reporting that I am XXXX XXXX over the credit limit. This has caused a huge negative impact on my financial well-being, caused an unreasonable increase in fees and finance charges and is a defamation of my character overall. As defined in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX, there is abundant evidence of the use of deceptive and/or unfair debt collection practices. There has been use of false, deceptive, or misleading representation/means in connection with the collection of this debt.

Consumer Complaint: I have 5 credit cards with Capital one. I had a problem paying my bill due to our business almost closing and my account due to our accounts being hacked. I am submitting this claim because I have been a loyal capital one customer since XXXX I need this restriction lifted so I can have access to my credit when I make payments and not to have my credit destroyed.

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: XXXX did not cancel the subscription renewal after I told them to. They charged my card again. I told Capital One to reverse the charge since I did not give XXXX the right to charge my card. XXXX website does not allow anyone to cancel the account. XXXX does not answer their phone line. Letter sent to XXXX to reverse this charge. I can not use the XXXX services even after they charged my card. Capital One did not protect me for the amount of {$29.00} and charged me XXXX for disputing this charge. This is wrong of both companies to promote fraud.

Consumer Complaint: I spoke to a customer service agent on the phone before paying my balance off this credit card. The balance was settled and it's still showing on my credit report as a closed account. Customer service agent on the phone told me that it would not be reported as a closed account and affect my credit report or score. Well it clearly was reported as a closed account and is affecting my credit report! I should not be punished for paying the balance on this card and having it show as a closed account!
