Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: I charged {$80.00} on XX/XX/23 at XXXX for groceries on my Capital One Quicksilver credit card. I used my Capital One checking account XXXX XXXX XXXX to pay the {$80.00}, and {$80.00} was deducted from my checking account. The payment had not registered on my credit card by XX/XX/23, so I called Capital One to find out why. They started an investigation, meanwhile crediting my credit card with the {$80.00} payment subject to their investigation. On XX/XX/23, the bank informed me that the payment had been processed correctly and my claim was denied. They then took back the {$80.00} credit that has been temporarily issued to my credit card. The {$80.00} payment made through the XXXX XXXX XXXX never showed up on my credit card, but WAS subtracted from my checking account. The bank refuses to accept any responsibility for where my {$80.00} went, instead bouncing it back and forth between the credit card division and the checking account division with no resolution for me. I want an admission from the bank that they made a mistake and the {$80.00} refunded to my checking account. They stole this money and they refuse to do anything to fix the problem. One more thing : I got one of their XXXX to get the bank to credit another {$80.00} to my credit card. This action still leaves me vulnerable to their whim regarding taking back that credit. They can have that {$80.00} back as soon as I am refunded the {$80.00} to my checking account where they can no longer access it. And banks wonder why we do not trust them.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted my bank about an extreme amount of fraudulent charges from my checking account. At the time, there was over {$700.00} of charges that were not made by me or my spouse. There were pending charges of approximately {$120.00}. I was told once they cleared, I was to contact the bank again. When I did, they only reimbursed the approximate {$120.00} and said they needed to research my dispute. Some of the charges included Waiter and XXXX which are not even available in our area. There were charges from XXXX and XXXX which my spouse has never ordered from. I received their decision letter on XX/XX/XXXX, stating that because we had the debit card in our possession, they could not reimburse me. I appealed the decision and received the appeal decision dated XX/XX/XXXXXXXX stating that they stood by their decision and I would not be reimbursed. I do have the bank statement showing all of the purchases and dates. The claim # from Capital One is XXXX. If any more information is needed, I can be contacted by email or phone. Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX : I woke up to multiple text alerts telling me about potential fraudulent purchases on my Captial One XXXX credit card. The first text showed an international purchase of {$740.00} at company called XXXX XXXX. The text asked me to verify if I made this purchase. I responded with a text stating NO. At that point, that purchase was denied and my card was locked. I saw there were three more purchases from the same vendor ( XXXX XXXX ) that were pending ( {$76.00}, {$76.00}, and {$93.00} ). I immediately called Capital One and filed a fraud complaint about all four charges that morning ( XX/XX/XXXX ). I was told that a fraud investigation would occur and that they would cancel my current credit card number, and mail out a new credit card. XX/XX/XXXX : I received an email from Capital One stating I had a follow up letter about my credit card fraud. I logged into my Capital One account and read that Capital One 's investigation " found insufficient evidence '' of fraud and so I was responsible for the three fraudulent charges. I called Capital One and talked with 3 levels of management who stated that my physical chip card was used to make these purchases. I told them it was not possible because I'm the only one in possession of the card ( and still am ). The charges occurred roughly around XXXX ( AZ time ) on XX/XX/XXXX and I was asleep in bed. Capital One also stated that the purchases were for " Mens/Womens clothing '' and the sale was completed out of XXXX XXXX . I denied making any of those purchases but they said since the physical chip was used it had to be my card. I stated that obviously criminals can now make duplicate chips because I didn't make those purchases and was still in possession of my card. I tried to point out that the total of the four charges added up to {$990.00}, like the actual criminals were trying to keep it below a {$1000.00} threshold. Capital One asked me if I had used it to make a physical purchase at a swap meet or something similar that morning, and once I again I stated I did not because I was still in bed and it wasn't even daylight yet in XXXX AZ. They refuse to credit me {$240.00} for the three remaining purchases. I do not want to be responsible for these fraudulent purchases.

Consumer Complaint: The Capital One Bank or Capital One took it upon themselves to not handle a big dispute for my financial status at the moment and they also neglected to distribute funds for my other disputes. They took away more than half a grand price from my account even though it was credited monetarily and then they changed their mind, I suppose?
