Consumer Complaint: Capital one closed my secured credit card without my permission. They then took my secured downpayment to that card and inserted that to my last payment. They also put late payments on my credit reports that were not late. I called them and told them there were fraudulent activities on this card and gave them the items that they needed to remove and update they did take some off but left a whole bunch that could of covered what I owed and my card would of still been open. I called them in XX/XX/2023 to tell them about these fraudulent transactions then I just had to call them again in XXXX XXXX to tell them that they forgot items that I listed that needed to be removed. I want my deposit back that they took from me I want my card turned back on and also I want them late payments removed. They violated 15 USC 1681 s-2 and when I told they said they was going to fix this problem and will take weeks to happen. While all of this is happening o cant go get me a new car because of these late payments on my credit report that is hindering my credit score and credit worthiness to other companies.

Consumer Complaint: My Kohls card had an unauthorized purchase for {$930.00} of a table and chair set that was shipped, refused, and tracking confirmed the return was received at the vendors dock, signed for and Kohls sent a letter stating until the charge was investigated I would have to make payments. I refused and they are haven't credit the return and want me to pay my billing until they resolve a fraudulant purchase.

Consumer Complaint: Re : Formal Complaint Against Capital One Regarding Account Closure and Redemption of Rewards Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of utmost concern regarding my Capital One Venture X credit card account. I recently received an email notification informing me that my credit card rewards points had been redeemed. Upon further investigation, I discovered that my account has been arbitrarily restricted, without clear justification or explanation. I promptly contacted Capital One Support to seek clarification on the status of my account. The initial representative, XXXX in XXXX, Florida, indicated that this action was a result of a " business decision '' and that my rewards had been liquidated. Despite my persistent inquiries, I was provided with vague responses, and the subsequent support personnel, XXXX ( Employee ID : XXXX ), failed to shed any light on the situation. I established this account in XX/XX/2023 with the expectation of enjoying the associated benefits, which included 2X rewards on spending, a substantial credit card rewards points points of XXXX, a {$300.00} travel credit, and access to airport lounges, all in exchange for a {$390.00} annual fee. Regrettably, within just XXXX months of opening the account, Capital One chose to close it unilaterally without notice or chance to redeem these points and credits. Despite having paid the aforementioned annual fee in the first billing cycle, I have been denied the benefits and services I anticipated. Multiple conversations with various Capital One representatives, including XXXX ( XXXX ) in the Philippines and XXXX ( XXXX ) in Florida, have proven fruitless, as they claim to lack the authority to address the matter.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I deposited XXXX checks into my business checking, prior to depositing these fund I had approx. XXXX in the account. I totally understood that there would be a hold on the deposited funds until XXXX. The following day I tried using my debit card for material to complete a job, the card was declined. Upon further research I realized all my funds were frozen and I had no access to any of my fund that was there prior to the said deposit made on XX/XX/XXXX. I've contacted Capital One on several occasion to clear up this matter only to be told that someone would be in contact with me. The funds deposited were from a client and was directed for payment to my sub-contractors as of todays date XX/XX/XXXX, I still haven't received any information requested from Capital One. I have h sub-contractors looking for there payment for work that was complete. XXXXXXXX XXXX the financial institute where the checks were drawn from even tried reaching out to Capital One to verify checks and funds. Capital One actions has put a stop to the day to day operations of my business, along with fracturing my working relationship with long time sub-contractors by not releasing any information nor funds.

Consumer Complaint: I found out a " guest '' online at Kohls ordered {$480.00} and change for boys/mens school clothes bookbags etc. on XX/XX/2023 and had it sent to Ohio Kohls store to be walked out to their car and the transaction was done on my account without my knowledge for almost 2or 3 weeks. I found out when I got an email on the 3rd from Kohls asking to rate my purchases. I then tried to log into my accounts and the password was somehow changed as well. I did finally get to see indeed I was charged for the above amount. Note also that my Kohls card stays at home as I don't use it much so the only way for someone to get it is by theft at a store where I used my license to pull up the account at customer service or a data breach that has my info listed. Capital one is the bank involved and I did receive a check for the data breach on the day or day before I found out about the theft. So I don't know how exactly the person got the info. I reported it to the Federal Trade Commission and filled out the form requesting immediate reply of all of the info Kohls has/had on the theft. Kohls has refused to send me any info. regarding this other than what I was told by " XXXX '' in a chat that gave me the amount of the theft and the store number of where the thief picked up the merchandise. As of today, XXXX.I still have NOT received the info requested on the Federal Trade Commission 's form I sent back around the XXXX of XX/XX/2023 when I found out. It was received according to my tracking on XX/XX/2023 by Capital One 's agent ( the bank for Kohls ) but I have gotten nothing in reply and am getting lots of spam emails from " Kohls '' about that. " I won.. '' I haven't entered any contests with them and lots of other fake theft emails since the Capital One data breach. I need to know who stole my account and all information in order to have them arrested and to find out how much of my info is out there being seen. Capital One/ Kohls are not cooperating and have been alerted 3 months ago!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I mobile deposited a IRS refund check in the amount of {$1900.00} into my checking account with Capital One. I received an email confirmation that my check was received. An hour later I received another email that after a review, the check will be delayed and not be deposited until XX/XX/XXXX. Then I receive an email stating that the check was successfully deposited and I could destroy the check. 15 minutes later I receive another email stating that Capital One noticed unusual activity on my account and for my protection I wouldn't be able to make withdrawals or transfer money to or from my account and after the investigation of account, my account could be possibly closed. I immediately called them and was advised that they would be closing all of my accounts and after the investigation my funds would be sent to me either external account or by check within 7 to 10 business days. i asked for the reason and didnt receive one. I've asked if they wanted the original IRS check and was told no. I've called every other day since XX/XX/XXXX and havent received any further information on why the account was closed or when my funds will be sent to me. in addition to the check that was deposited i had additional funds in my account and havent received those either. ive banked with Capital One for the past 8 years and havent experienced this ever before.

Consumer Complaint: There are three charges, all related to the same service, {$250.00} deposit, and two charges to move my property from one apartment to another, {$1900.00} and {$2300.00}. I hired XXXX XXXX to move my goods from one apartment to another. I worked with the owner of the company who assured me that they are a quality and reputable company that can reliably and safely conduct my move. That was further from the truth. The company damaged and broke thousands of dollars worth of my belongings. The owner assured me that they would repair/replace everything that was damaged or broken. 90 days later the company has not fixed or replaced anything. I also have not heard from the moving company since XX/XX/XXXX. I initiated a dispute with Capital One to get the money back for the move to use that money to fix and replace all of the damaged goods. There is XXXX pushback from the movers that they did in fact damage and break thousands of dollars in goods. They admit that and I have in writing that they will resolve it, but as I mentioned, 90 days later they have not. Words can not even describe the horrible dispute process with Capital One. They send me endless denial emails because I " didn't send the required/requested information ''. When I call to find out what they need, they can not help me with specifics. We are going around in circles for months. I've spent endless hours on the phone with Capital One and I have proof of the call records. Capital One is not complying with consumer protection laws. They tell me I didn't submit what they need but they can not tell me what they need. My dispute is real. I have all of the evidence and I finally have to resort to a CFPB complaint to get Capital One to communicate effectively and to get this resolved. Below is a letter I wrote Capital One after endless back-and-forth communication about my dispute. I am writing to provide additional details and to appeal the decision regarding my ongoing dispute with XXXX XXXX, referenced above. On XX/XX/2023, I encountered an issue with XXXX XXXX which remains unresolved as of XX/XX/2023, approximately 89 days later. Despite my efforts, including multiple emails since XX/XX/2023, XXXX XXXX has failed to communicate or rectify the situation. This lack of response and action suggests an unwillingness to resolve the issue. Key Evidence Provided : Email correspondences requesting XXXX to detail their submission to insurance, which went unanswered. Documentation showing the absence of any repairman sent by XXXX to fix the damaged items. Evidence highlighting XXXX communication from XXXX XXXX since XX/XX/2023. Capital Ones previous letter stated, The merchant provided the following information to support the transaction : Notification that goods were as described and received in good condition. Contrary to the information provided by XXXX XXXX, the goods were not received in good condition. This is evident from the admission of fault by XXXX XXXX in the document you provided, where they state, Due to imperfections of the loading dock at the desired location some of XXXX XXXX 's belongings were damaged. Given the substantial evidence I have provided, which includes XXXX XXXX 's own admission of fault, I request that Capital One reevaluate this dispute. The lack of substantial evidence from XXXX XXXX and their acknowledgment of the issue strongly supports my claim. Additional information requested by Capital One : Provide the date and proof of canceled services or returned merchandise/installed parts, or the date merchandise was made available for pick-up. o This does not apply to my dispute. A copy of your sales invoice or purchase agreement/contract, including evidence to support how the service you ordered is different than what you received. o This has already been submitted ; please review all documentation I have already submitted. A refund voucher or other documentation ( if you received any ) supporting your claim that a credit is due to your Capital One account. o This does not apply to my dispute. As a consumer, I believe my rights have been overlooked in this dispute. I urge Capital One to act in accordance with fair consumer practices and reverse the charge in question. I look forward to your timely response and a favorable resolution to this matter.
