Consumer Complaint: Actions taken by Comenity Bank : - repeated phone calls every day after being told not to be contacted any further because of possible scam since XX/XX/2023- XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ext. XXXX ) - XX/XX/2023 contacted third parties ( father and mother ) discussing related debt owed and made threats about getting a lawyer and taking legal action. Based on what my father said, he was not being professional. - XXXX XXXX - XX/XX/2023 when on the phone with me ( the person who actually owes the debt ) threatened to send to collections. He also threatened that the court will file a subpoena against me and that I need to get a lawyer. He said that in the state of Ohio I could go to jail for this because I am committing " fraud ''. Over an {$83.00} original balance due. While also on the phone with him, he said " I need to take accountability '', which I would do if they ever decided to mail me the physical XXXX Credit Card and explain what I supposedly bought. If I have never received the physical card in the mail to activate it, how can I be sure that this isn't a scam. I have received no bills to the address on file. - XX/XX/2023- Comenity Bank called me, I answered. I stated to this person ( I don't remember who ) that I never received a physical card copy in the mail and that I have received no bills relating to the debt I apparently owe. At this time, I was sure that it was a scam. It was not a professional call at all.

Consumer Complaint: I paid the entire balance on my card on XXXXlXXXX XXXX XXXX, one day before the due date. I was notified that there is a delinquent notification on my credit report. When I looked it indicated XXXX Comenity credit card. Seven days after I paid my balance they charged me {$20.00} interest and I had no idea until this notification came in. It indicates in the " how to avoid interest '' section of the attached statement that if you pay by the due date, you avoid interest. I paid the balance in full by due date, yet they charged me interest and have since charged me multiple late fees and additional interest. When I call them to take care of this, there is no way to speak to a person. The only options is around making payments or making a promise to pay, etc... when I say " speak to an agent or representative '' it will say it is transferring the call but then goes to a message that you must dial a ten digit number and you need ti try again. I have tried this more than 10 times and I am never able to get through.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I made a purchase of about {$5800.00} at Jareds at XXXX XXXX in XXXX Florida. The employee in the store suggested I use the gold card program as it had an 18 month interest and payment deferment. I questioned this program along the lines of can I wait around ten months to pay then pay it all then? and so I can pay at any point, no minimums?. The employee responded in the positive to these questions. This turned out to be untrue as I received a minimum charge the next month. Unaware and unexpected it has affected my credit and caused financial issues. I had another party return to the store to be sure there was no misunderstanding. Again the employee touted an 18 month payment and interest deferment. When questioned on the minimum payments the employee responded along the lines of oh, well I guess its not really a payment deferment. Jareds will not accept a return of the item and comenity bank will not grant an 18 month deferment as discussed. I feel I have become a victim of fraudulent misrepresentation and bait and switch tactics. I would like to resolve this out of court but will take legal action if not.

I have never applied for anything at Comenity capital nor authorized them to access my credit file. I called Comenity capital. According to them, they could not find anything related to my SSN in their system and asked me to dispute it with XXXX. I submitted a dispute to XXXX, but they got back to me saying the inquiry is factual and can not be removed. Even though Comenity bank claimed that they do not have any application or account under my SSN, XXXX insisted that after investigation they believe it is legitimate inquiry.

The XX/XX/2023 payment was missed due to NSF 's since a lot of payments hit at once. I never received an email letting me know this happened. Instead I received XXXX calls in XXXX hours in one day from XXXX - XXXX during my weekly work meeting, XXXX days from when payment was due. All for {$51.00} When I had the chance to finally pick up, I told the rep how aggressive and overkill it was to call that many times. I went on line and made the {$51.00} payment. The phone continued to ring after that. For crying out loud! Really? Thank God for XXXX in XXXX programs. In with XXXX in XXXX and out with the old revolving debt card.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX I closed my account. They informed me that I had a late fee of XXXX to pay. Told them I just sent you a payment for XXXX, I pay you XXXX every other month. My payment is just XXXX a month that I charge every month. So that day I went to the post office and sent out the check for XXXX certificated mail # XXXX. They received the check on XXXX XXXX signed for by XXXX XXXX. I never heard from them or got a statement at all in XXXX. On XXXX XXXX, they still haven't cashed the check for XXXX ( certificated mail and signed for as stated above ) so I stopped payment on that check and sent out a check for XXXX. I sent out a letter with proof asking the company why they still haven't cashed my check for XXXX, that enclosed is a check for XXXX sent out certificated mail # XXXX and tracking # XXXX account ending in XXXX enclosed all this information on the check too. I went to the bank today and they just cashed my check from XXXX XXXX, for XXXX, they signed for it on XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX I got a bill for XXXX. They are still charging me a late fee on top of late fees. Plus every day they call me none stop. I have no idea why, when all they had to do in XXXX is just cash the check for XXXX that they signed for and that would have been the end of it. But no they just had to harass me every day by phone never saying hello or never leaving a message either. They started this problem not me. This is a bank every one should be aware if how Comenity Bank is treating people. I would never do business with them again and I think every one should close there accounts with Comenity Bank and let them go under. They have XXXX different cards, close all XXXX different cards. They don't deserve anyone 's money, if they want to treat people this way for paying there bills. Shut them down.We all have the power to shut these companies down when we aren't treated right.
