Consumer Complaint: I had an XXXX XXXX Credit Card. I was advised timely that the card will no longer be active due to the bank no longer supporting the credit card. On XX/XX/23, I paid my card balance of {$2200.00}. At that time, I was notified that my card was closed ( however, I was advised it was closed in XXXX ). I shredded my card and cancelled the ebill ( I received billing statements online through my bank ). I received an email on XX/XX/23 advising me that I had a past due balance, however, I did not receive a bill or any type of notification prior to that date so I couldn't have known there was still a balance ( at that time it was around {$11.00} ). The bill was for {$24.00}. However, I was advised that my balance to pay the card in full was now {$26.00}. So I was charged {$13.00} for finance charges as well as a late fee. After speaking with a Supervisor at XXXX, I was advised that she couldn't waive anything since the card had been closed stating she could not override the system. Funny, the " system '' was still able to charge me a finance fee and late charge. I always paid my bill on time and paid the entire balance off with no mention that there could still be finance charges. I have paid the balance of {$26.00} so my credit will not be affected. I know {$26.00} is not a lot but it is the principal of the matter. How can you charge a finance fee on a zero balance and not send a billing notice until it's showing as past due, and then charge a late fee on top of that?

Under 15 U.S.C 1666b a creditor may not treat a payment on a credit account under an open end as late for any purpose.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX I HAVE NOTIFIED THEM ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THAT THESE ARE NOT MY ACCOUNTS I EVEN SENT MY FTC AND A NOTARIZED AFFIDAVIT TO VERIFY THAT MY PROOF OF IDENTITY AND THAT THESE ARE ERRONEOUS CHARGES THEY ARE TRYING TO CONTINUE DEFAMING MY CHARACTER FOR I HAVE BEEN VIOLATED AND THE LAWS AS WELL THEY STATE IN REMARKS ON REPORTING AGENCIES THAT IT MEETS THE FCRA GUIDE LINES BUT WILL NOT PROVIDE VALID INFORMATION AS TO HOW THEY ARE VALIDATING THEIR INFORMATION THEY CANT POSSIBLY HONESTLY INVESTIGATING COMPLETELY BECAUSE THEY WOULD SEE THAT THIS ERRONEOUS INFORMATION WAS NOT ME AND IT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED/DELETED IMMEDIATELY INSTEAD OF JUST CONTINUING TO TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT AND VALIDATE THE DEBT AND MAKE MY LIFE HARD WHILE I'M TRYING TO CLOSE ON A HOME FOR MY FAMILY INVESTIGATE, SEE THAT ITS NOT MY DEBT, AND DELETE IT. Consumer Complaint: I seldom use my Comenity Bank, XXXX XXXX credit card. I made a purchase with this credit card on XX/XX/2023. I did not receive a statement for this purchase and since I rarely use this credit card its not setup for auto pay and I didn't think about it. When I realized I never got a bill I called Comenity Bank and told them I haven't received a statement, they apologized and waved the late fee and I paid the bill in full over the phone on the same call I made to them. Later come to find out the late payment was reported to the credit bureaus. I filed a credit bureau dispute and asked Comenity Bank update and remove the late payment credit reporting. They sent a letter saying they were unable to make any adjustments to my payment history. I called and requested documentation on how the came to the conclusion they were unable to make any adjustments to my payment history but I never received any additional information. I then disputed the credit reporting with the individual bureaus but Comenity Bank still would not adjust my payment history or give me any additional information.

Consumer Complaint: XXXXXXXX XXXX owes me {$98.00} in a refund from when my account with them was paid off XXXX XXXX XXXX {$98.00} was due to me and sent to me but the check was returned. Twice. I have called. XXXX has called since late XXXX. It is now mid XXXX. I submitted a written dispute and in XXXX days they concluded the check was cashed. Every time I try i get a new person who begins with no knowledge of my problem and they only look at a screen which tells yh the incorrect information that the check was cashed. I have addressed additional letters with proof that the check was returned twice to Head of Dispute Dept. They do not have a phone line that i am able to use. Hrlp m e get my {$98.00}. Consumer Complaint: Charges were made on my card that I didnt know about as I vowed to never use the card again after they lowered my credit limit. Someone charged to my account without my knowledge. The bureaus said I would have to have a police report which I was unable to get due to the police needing to know if it was online or in store and XXXX XXXX had no way of showing this. The police needed to know this in order for them to know which branch would need to file the report.
