Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/23 I paid off my bill by phone. I received a confirmation number that the payment was received, I received a confirmation number and the system stated that my balance was now XXXX. On XX/XX/23 I went to the XXXX store to make a purchase and attempted to pay with my XXXX card and the transaction was denied. I called the card company and found out that my prior balance that I though was paid off was still on the card with an additional {$30.00} amount on my balance. I called the company and they told me that my payment in XXXX did not go through as they were unable to locate the account and that the additional {$30.00} was a returned check fee. They did remove the {$30.00} bringing my balance back to the original amount that I tried to pay in XXXX, but because my payment due date was XXXX and I am now making a payment XX/XX/23, I would be charged a {$30.00} late fee for the month of XXXX, however it was unbeknownst to me that I even had a balance as I paid it off in XXXX. With regards to the payment not going through, they told me that they could not locate the account that I paid them through, however as stated above, their automated system provided me with a confirmation number and stated that my balance is now XXXX. I paid off the bill, including the " late '' fee of {$30.00} for XXXX just so I could close the account and not have anymore liability with this company.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX reached out to me due to accounts taken in someones name similar to mine. The last 4 of SSN on this account does not match my SSN. The address used for the accounts also dont match what I had on my report. But somehow its reporting on my Credit profile. The original creditors are not listed under my creditors on my profile. So I dont know how this collection company can add a collections to my profile when the original creditors are not associated with my profile. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX collection balances for {$410.00} and {$580.00}, original creditors Comenity Bank was added to my account. I called the original creditor and the only account they had for me tied to my name and SSN is my Ulta account. Which is current.

CB/ XXXX XXXX. I filled a complaint again on XX/XX/XXXX with CFPB as well as contacted XXXX and made them aware what they are sending me is NOT VALADATION LETTER OF DEBT. At this time the debt has been written off they have not provided a 1099C or proof of debt in validation letter or deleted from my report.

Consumer Complaint: I sent a dispute letter to Comenity Bank on XX/XX/2023 asking to 1 ) prove negative remarks reported on my credit report and IF proven true to make a goodwill adjustment and remove negative remarks. I received a corresponding letter dated XX/XX/2023 stating that " After reviewing our records, we find that we are unable to make any adjustments to your payment history ''. While I do understand that the creditor is under no obligation to grant a goodwill adjustment, Comenity failed to acknowledge my other requests with this response. I responded to this later on XX/XX/2023 ( mailed on XX/XX/2023 ) reiterating my original requests to 1 ) validate these late payments and 2 ) to provide me with written confirmation of the steps taken to investigate my dispute. Their initial vague and short response led me to believe that they did not taken my initial claim seriously and failed to validate said negative remarks AND did not follow through with providing me with written steps they took to investigate my claim. I have yet to receive any correspondence from them since my letter and therefore, I believe that my rights are being violated and my claim was not properly handled. I have attached ALL correspondence between Comenity and I since my initial dispute as well as the mail receipt of the final letter that was sent.

Consumer Complaint: I sent a check for {$20.00} to Bread as payment on my loan. Bread has several different service contracts with various merchants, and the one governing my loan prohibits check payments which are legal tender under US banking law. Bread received my check, cashed my check, and refused to credit my account for the payment they accepted. I was not notified that they would not accept the check ; I only received demands for payment. Upon contacting Bread, I was advised that they did not accept checks, that they had cashed my check and that they had issued me a refund check which had been mailed to me on XX/XX/XXXX. To this date, I have not received this refund check and Bread has refused to provide me any documentation of its existence. Bread also refuses to credit my account for the check that they cashed.
