Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: The XXXX credit card I had and still making payments is no longer of use at XXXX. I no longer possess the card and when going to make a payment, I received a connection error for technical difficulties, unable to make my timely payment. I reported to better business in which they reached out to XXXX, but not the credit card company. Without my card and account number I have problems accessing my account. The site is working now after the fact Ive been accessed a late fee and numerous emails from the XXXX card of missed payment.

Consumer Complaint: I chose to close my New York and Company card with Comenity years ago, but still continued to pay down my balance. The company had done some upgrades to their website back in XXXX of 2022, and users were unable to log in. They stated work was completed sometime in XXXX and that users by then should've regained access to their accounts. Come XXXX, I still could not log in. I gained access like a week into XXXX and then paid my bill. I was charged a late fee that they refused to remove. The last statement that generated on my account was for XX/XX/2022, with a balance of XXXX. For months no other statement had generated yet I continued to pay, up to a total of XXXX. In XXXX I decided to login and check my balance, which still remained more than XXXX, despite the account being closed, {$170.00} dollars in payments and interest that was only about {$2.00} dollars. I submitted questions and another request to remove that late fee for when their website was not working and I got the same generic response and refusal. I also explained that my balance was not dropping despite payments to no avail. Fast forward into a request to launch an investigation because I feel comenity is committing fraud on my account, they continue to post late payments and report to the credit bureaus that I am late and now those months of not having statements generated magically show up on my account. I took screenshots of all of this. They hound me by calling me about 10 times a day, from different numbers and/or blocked numbers. They sometimes don't identify themselves, and I've had instances where the reps hang up as soon as I pick up. I guess they want the call to show up on the log but they want to get paid for harassing people.

Consumer Complaint: Here 's what I just sent Comenity, which services the XXXX store card account this is regarding, but I would appreciate CFPB 's assistance as well and thought it would be helpful for your records : Hello, I received a call last week from one of your representatives that said I was three months behind on my payment. This was a surprise. With few or no exceptions I have historically paid my balance in full. I've now analyzed how this balance accumulated. In XXXX, I made an online purchase of about {$170.00}, all of which I returned because the jeans did not fit and received a full refund, except for the {$7.00} return fee, which is my responsibility for missing. However, in the subsequent 3 months, Comenity charged 3 late fees and interest that got the balance to {$120.00}. The first time I was informed I had missed a payment ( let alone 3 ) was last week via phone. Meanwhile, my credit score has plummeted XXXX points over a {$7.00} late fee, and I don't even recall receiving mailed statements even though I have not sign up for paperless billing. This is unacceptable and unreasonable. I request reversal of the negative credit bureau reporting and a refund of the late fees and interest charges.

Consumer Complaint: After saving and planning, I contacted this company to settle my debt but instead the egregious employee condemned me and basically said I don't deserve to settle because I spent the money I owed. When I explained to him that I was young and not knowledgeable when I signed up for the XXXX credit card and that I actually only spent 25 % of what I owed and would like to settle for that amount, he refused. Instead of coming to an agreement he argued and tried to intimidate me. He also said they would not take the collection off of my report even if I paid the whole amount and asked for a pay to delete letter. He was totally rude and unhelpful. He cut me off every time I tried to explain my situation and was very pushy and continued to call and harass me and threatened to report to other agencies even after I offered to settle!

Consumer Complaint: I requested a cash back withdraw of XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I was only given an amount of XXXX in my checking account on XXXX. Working in development I figured that there was a rounding or input error and was trying to get someone to look into the event. The first call I made on XXXX was unsuccessful because of the lack of business days passing between the request and their guaranteed date. When I called today I was left on hold for 25 minutes with no response and when trying to contact through messaging I was told to call the number that was not helping earlier. I don't think the bank Comentity is a legitimate banking practice if they are making errors like this when money is involved.

Consumer Complaint: The debt was paid. The DR office returned XXXX XXXX Commenity Capital Bank XX/XX/2023. After that date, Commenity Capital Bank called me at all hours of the day and night harassing me for an extra {$500.00}. I paid them to stop them from calling me. My dentist office said I did not need to pay them as they were FULLY refunded. They got {$500.00} extra out of me so I am disputing this with my bank. Commenity is still calling me saying that I owe them {$22.00} more dollars on an account that has been closed over a month now.
