Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: I applied for a XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit card and was denied credit because they couldn't verify my identity. I applied on XX/XX/2023 and did not get an instant approval. That day I had an XXXX credit score of XXXX. I called them the next day and they told me to wait for a letter from them. It said they needed more information. I got that letter in about 6 days and I called them back and gave them the information they requested. They wouldn't give me an approval over the phone and said to wait for a letter 4 days letter a letter arrived and it said I was denied because they couldn't verify my identity. At no time did anyone ask me two send them a copy of my identification all the while I had received two letters to my address on file, on my credit report, and what I provided to them. I called back and after talking to several people, they said they did their due diligence and I could reapply if I wanted to. My credit was pulled and I have a hard inquiry which they will not remove. I don't believe that Comenity Capital Bank, parent company for this credit card actually was offering credit. I have documention from the XXXX Credit Bureau that my credit was pulled and they also pulled identity information. Attached.

Consumer Complaint: I had a Credit Card with XXXX XXXX and XXXX through Commenity Bank. I paid what I thought was my balance in full of {$30.00}. Then they charged me a {$2.00} interest fee in XXXX, which I was unaware of. Therefore I received a late fee of {$2.00}, and another interest charge of {$2.00}. I went ahead and paid the balance on XX/XX/2023. However, they told me I was going to receive another late fee of {$6.00}. So now, I have to pay that as well because I paid the bill on XX/XX/2023 instead of XX/XX/2023 when I thought my bill was paid in full back in XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: COMENITY BANK IS REPORTING INACCURACIES ON MY CREDIT REPORT!!! The original issue I had with Comenity Bank is that months after selling my debt to a collection agency the account was still showing open with late payments. I disputed the account and they attempted to update after months of inaccurate reporting. Now it shows as a charge off debt that was written off as a charge off yet I have received no 1099-c from the IRS. 26 U.S. Code 6050P - Returns relating to the cancellation of indebtedness by certain entities. This is considered trust fraud. As the debt was supposedly written off in XX/XX/2022. The account was removed from XXXX but still listed on both XXXX and XXXX. I am demanding that Comenity Bank and all three credit bureaus remove this debt immediately or I will take further actions against them and their business practices.

Consumer Complaint: Hi- I applied for a New York & Company credit card on XXXX to receive an additional 30 % off my first purchase. They allowed me to use the credit line but after calling both the store Customer Service line and the Credit Card servicing line, they did not know how to provide the discount to me. They said they were experiencing technical difficulties and I would definitely get a 30 % off promotion in the mail when my actual card was received. It never happened. I have emailed customer service on multiple occasions and the response makes no sense. It is as if there is some sort of language barrier and they are not understanding what I am asking.. I have emailed them twice regarding the issue and have received responses back including the following : " We are sorry you are having issues using your NY & C Credit Card etc. '' The last email I stated to them that they were in violation of XXXX for never providing the discount to me for getting the credit card. I stated I was going to file a complaint with the CFPB and my later emails were returned, the customer service employee had blocked my email address. I have told both sides NY & Company as well as Comenity Bank who provides their credit card. No one cares nor knows what to do. Again, after the last email regarding the issues, my email was returned as undeliverable. The company blocked my email address apparently as I was very upset and that had never happened before. The last email sent on XXXX had the same reply that made NO sense.. " We understand that you are facing difficulties placing an order with your NYCO credit card, and we want to help you resolve the issue. In most cases, the NYCO card is not accepted due to its XXXX length. '' I have all the emails that I have sent to customer service as well as these responses that make no sense ( not even relevant to not providing the discount ). See attached documentation. I also have proof that I was blocked after that. This is a last resort. I have been a loyal customer to this company for so many years. Very disappointing and that they really do not care at all. I appreciate your help. Kind Regards, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/23 {$330.00} bill paid in full XX/XX/23 {$6.00} interest on bill after the bill was paid in full XX/XX/23 {$6.00} company issued late fee when there wasnt a late fee XX/XX/23 issued {$1.00} interest charge XX/XX/23 {$14.00} company issued another late fee when there still wasnt anything late. XX/XX/23 {$1.00} interest XX/XX/23 company realized they screwed up charging interest and reversed transactions and charges against me. I am in the process of refinancing my house and never knew about these charges because I paid the bill in full. They never told me about any charges or late fees until my mortgage broker told me about it on my credit report. So my broker told me to call them and have them issue a letter stating there should have never been any late fees or charges against me. They have hit my credit and dropped me by 70 points and I had almost an 800 credit rating. So I explained to company what I needed and all they issue to me is a statement showing I owe {$0.00} rather than giving me a letter saying that I never owed anything at all so my broker can issue another Rapid Credit Check so I can get a better interest rate. This company XXXX my credit and I just want them to issue the correct letter stating I never owed anything. Ive talked to over 10 people with this company and none have been willing or wanting to help. Its been a run around and all I honestly want is my credit repaired instead my broker told me that it is credit card fraud which is what they are doing. I wasnt trying to report them to you guys but I just want help is all.
