Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/2023, i received letters from bank of america announcing they have closed my personal credit card and 2 other business credit card due to the XXXX credit reporting saying unsatisfactory performance on my credit card! I called, no one could explain more than XXXX reported that to them ... no investigation if this was true or anything .. this is PURE violation of my rights! my credit score is at XXXX! never been late, missed a payment, over used my card more than 10 %! and XXXX marked the closed account as : canceled by credit grantor!! it is absolutely FALSE! They closed my account associated with my social security number without my permission nor providing reasonable proof! I demand they reinstate my credit card and give me damages for this! it is against the law to provide false information on my report and they caused my businesses a lot of issues as their false information terminated my accounts too. I am not letting this pass, i know my rights.

Consumer Complaint: Today, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) ordered Bank of America to pay more than {$100.00} XXXX to customers for systematically double-dipping on fees imposed on customers with insufficient funds in their account, withholding reward bonuses explicitly promised to credit card customers, and misappropriating sensitive personal information to open accounts without customer knowledge or authorization. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ( OCC ) also found that the banks double-dipping on fees was illegal. Bank of America will pay a total of {$90.00} XXXX in penalties to the CFPB and {$60.00} XXXX in penalties to the OCC. Bank of America wrongfully withheld credit card rewards, double-dipped on fees, and opened accounts without consent, said CFPB Director Rohit Chopra . These practices are illegal and undermine customer trust. The CFPB will be putting an end to these practices across the banking system.

Consumer Complaint: We have a small towing business and we used a credit card that was suggested from a bank member. Every month we made payment on this credit card since we see the balance on the personal account. We never had the statement on this credit card and to our knowledge the credit card was getting pay every month. After a year and half we got suspicious since the balance on the credit card didnt match our expenses so we called them and find out the the credit cards we paid was collecting a balance every month them were charging us fee. By the time we find out this problem our credit card balance was XXXX and had a financial charge of {$6000.00}. So I called them and I also wen to the bank and them were able to remove three months of financing charge, but my fees and all this troubles can be avoided since them never send us a statement or a phone call or anything. The business account was open on the 2009 and them confirm that we didnt log in on this account since 2009 since all the payment and activities was checked from our personal account. We work so hard to help people every day in all kind of conditions since we do XXXX XXXX and this banks keep adding fees to our credit card balance with no mercy. We had to use all our saving to pay off the credit card balance since we cant afford to get anymore fees. This is not right. This is ugly. And the top of that the customer service when you call them are so cold people with no mercy for them customers.

Consumer Complaint: I was not able to process my monthly payment due to trouble accessing the bank web site on the due date. I had internet access. The problem seemed to be with the site itself. I was charged a {$25.00} late fee. I've been a client of BOA for a very long time and I always pay my account on time. The service rep was callous and rude. Thank you.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Sent card you never applied for
Consumer Complaint: Greetings, I have been a Bank of America customer for over 20 years. I have a checking, savings and two credit cards with the bank. Approximately two months ago I noticed that a new credit card ( specifically a XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card ) had been applied for and opened in my name without my consent. I immediately contacted the bank, and the account was closed. However, due to the breech I paid for credit monitoring services. I now realize that BofA opened this account without my consent. The bank had informed me that they would send me a copy of my application for the credit card. This was never received. I would like to be compensated for the dip in my credit score due to the new card being opened and the cost of the credit monitoring. Thank you.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Non-sufficient funds and associated fees
Consumer Complaint: Last year, some month in 2022, the company that I work ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, did not make an automatic deposit to my checking account in Bank of America. I explained that it was an error on the companys part and that it would take another two weeks for the company to pay. In the meantime, I had automatic deductions that were coming so I informed because I didnt want to incur overdraft charges. The banks representative said that I still would incur charges and that I should get proof from my company of the error on their part. I received a check voucher indicating the past earnings not received and submitted to BOA. BOA credit me for some of the charges. Also, there have been times where the bank would pay transactions over the amount of the funds available but at other times BOA would decline and fees would be charged regardless. There was never any type of disclosure mentioned or written that would indicate how it would be determined to pay or not to pay then assess fees. I do apologize for not being able to provide specific dates and times. I did not think to acquire paperwork at that time. XXXX XXXX
