Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Banking errors
Consumer Complaint: Bank of America accepted an application I did not send them for a bank account in XX/XX/2023. It was identity theft. I got the account closed and signed up with XXXX and put a security freeze in place with XXXX for all future applications with my name and or social security on them. Again in XXXX Bank of America again approved another application for a bank account with my name and social security number. It is now closed again. However I am learning from XXXX that BoA never even rank information even they received it to see the security freeze. I have XXXX but still am getting tired of BoA doing this over and over.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Charged too much interest
Consumer Complaint: Company name : Bank of America Issue : Bank of America destroyed my credit over a {$29.00} fee which was added to my account late that came AFTER Id paid my credit card balance of {$13000.00} in full on XX/XX/ ( see Attachment 1 - statement snapshot with charge added ). What makes this matter serious is I feel that Bank of America intentionally didnt tell me about this charge and used this incident as a justification to reduce my line of credit by 97.9 % ( from {$24000.00} to {$500.00} ). Ultimately, this directly resulted in my credit score being lowered from XXXX to XXXX. This feels like I was singled out because I had a high credit limit with a low interest rate, and the manner in which this was handled seems like I was setup by Bank of America to get rid of this credit line. I most certainly had a reasonable expectation to receive an email from them that I owed a fee. For example, even XXXX XXXX has the courtesy to email me on the day my payment is due if theyd yet to receive it ( see Attachment 2 - representative courtesy email ). But the entire time that Id had a payment due for a bill I did not know was even going to be charged because it didnt appear on my account when Id checked they didnt email me a single time about this. They did however email 10 times during the time period this payment was past due, most of which consisted of marketing and advertisement materials ( see Attachment 3 - Bank of America Emails ). They were certainly able to email me when they lowered my credit limit ( see Attachment XXXX - Bank of America Emails Email 1 ), and also when they denied my request to have my credit limit reinstated ( see Attachment 3 - Bank of America Emails Email 2 ). Bank of America is my longest-standing credit provider, and I had every right to expect them to contact me if there was a problem of this nature. In fact, if it wasnt for the email about my credit limit being lowered, then I probably still wouldnt know thered been an issue. Once I opened this email, I promptly paid the balance plus extra for any additional fees that might arise ( see Attachment 4 - unknown charge balance paid off ). Furthermore, I tried to work directly with Bank of America to Resolve this issue, which Ive documented in Attachment 5 - Attempts to work with BoA, but this did not help whatsoever. In short, I was assured by the bank personnel that there was no way my credit limit was reduced by so much over this issue, and I was also told to contact XXXX XXXX about this. When I retrieved my credit report from XXXX XXXX ( see Attachment 6 - XXXX XXXX Information ), this was indeed the only issue on my credit report. No one at Bank of America could even properly explain what this charge was or why itd been added, nor was it explained to me why it was posted late. I would like this issue resolved as it will greatly cost me when I proceed with making my first home purchase within the next 12 months. The irony is that I paid off this balance to help with my debt-to-income ratio for the above-mentioned home purchase, and if Id just left this on autopay, none of these harmful and damaging actions would have been taken against me. Bank of America should correct this as it is in no way indicative of my credit worthiness, and because at the very least, I had a reasonable expectation from every conceivable point of view to expect an email notification about the past due bill long before being emailed that my credit limit had been decreased. Its very obvious from credit reports which I will provide if they are requested that if this issue had been properly brought to my attention, then I would have handled it immediately. Thank you for your assistance with resolving this deeply troubling and damaging issue.

Consumer Complaint: I see a few violations involving XXXX, XXXX and XXXX along with Bank of America, XXXX XXXX and XXXX accounts. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 USC 1681 section 602 a states " There is a need to insure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. '' XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX are consumer reporting agencies and I am the Consumer. I have the right to make sure my private information isn't shared which is backed by 15 USC 6801 which states " It is the policy of the Congress that each financial institution has an affirmative and continuing obligation to respect the privacy of its customers and to protect the security and confidentiality of those customers nonpublic personal information. " ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) is a financial institution by definition under that title. 15 USC 1681 section 604 a section 2 states that " In general Subject to subsection ( c ), any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report under the following circumstances and no other : in accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. Anything added to my report without my written consent could be considered Identity theft. Bank of America, XXXX XXXX and XXXX changed off these accounts.. According to the IRS website. A charge off is considered a Certificate of Indebtedness which means it is considered Income. Income is not debt so these accounts need to be removed. When a company charge off debt they are supposed to send the customer a 1099 form so it can be filed with my taxes and must be removed. Ive sent Bank of America, XXXX XXXX and XXXX an opt out letter a month or so ago. I attach the letter to this complaint. Also I uploaded a screenshot of my credit report showing the inaccuracy of the reporting. XXXX, XXXX and XXXX have different account number, open dates and last payment. 15 U.S. Code 1681e Compliance procedures ( b ) Accuracy of report Whenever a consumer reporting agency prepares a consumer report it shall Follow reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy of the Information concerning the individual about whom the report relates. Consumer Complaint: The presence of a derogatory rating on my account is causing me great concern. I am deeply worried about the impact it may have on my credit. It has already led to the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. I want to emphasize the severe financial and emotional distress that this negative rating has caused me and will continue to cause until it is resolved.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I entered into a group buy for a set of mechanical keyboard keycaps produced by XXXX in XXXX. XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX were the vendor for this group buy and took payments on behalf of all XXXX buyers. The expected manufacture date due to covid was approximately 8 to 10 months from purchase. It has become apparent that at the same time XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX unbeknownst to anyone else, was running their business as a Ponzi scheme. They were using funds from group buys meant to pay the manufacturer for the ordered goods on other projects. They have since deleted their website, closed their discord, stopped replying to emails, and have essentially vanished with the funds. I have tried to file a disput with my bank Bank of America but have been told repeatedly that it is outside of their dispute window, which is an appalling short 78 days. As the manufactured date for this purchase, and so many others in general especially with supply chain issues, is so far from the purchase date by the nature of a group buy it would mean that it was essentially impossible to ever request a refund or dispute these charges from the very beginning. Bank of America is refusing to initiate a dispute on my behalf for goods that were paid for but never received. Since I never agreed to any delays I am entitled to a full refund pursuant to https : //www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/business-guide-ftcs-mail-internet-or-telephone-order-merchandise-rule. I would suggest looking here XXXX XXXX XXXX for more information on XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX and their ongoing issues.
