Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I had an unauthorized transaction posted to my Bank of America account, I immediately called the bank and the merchant- XXXX. The merchant told me that there is nothing they can do, that my account was compromised and advised me to contact my bank, and I did. I called my bank to dispute this transaction as fraud. They temporarily credited my account and began an investigation. I explained to them that I did not make this transaction and that this is not first that I have had a fraudulent transaction with this Merchant since the Merchant already had my credit card information saved under my account and as they advised me my account was compromised. As per the Merchant the purchase was shipped to an address unknown to me, it is not my address and never was my address but it was under my name. Again, I did not make this purchase and I do not know what this address is. My provided me with a recent letter stating that after their investigation they confirmed that the merchandise purchased ( that I was disputing ) was provided to an address listed on my account. This is not true because I was able to get the address where it was shipped to when I contacted XXXX and like I said before, this is not my address and this address is in no way connected to me. Therefore, they put the fraudulent credit back on my account. I called the bank back and provided them with the invoice from the Merchant showing that the address was not my address or any address listed on my bank account, and had them reopen the investigation but the outcome is the same, that they are not crediting this fraudulent transaction. I even contacted the shipping company, XXXX, with the shipping information that the merchant provided me and requested that they hold the package but the package was already on the way to be delivered to the address that was on the purchase, which again is not my address and this was not a purchase that I made or authorized. I feel that the Bank did not protect my interests as a customer and I should not be liable for these charges since they are fraudulent. They did not conduct a proper investigation, because if they contacted the merchant they would see that the address was never previously on my account on the merchant 's website nor on my bank account.

Called the Bank of America number and told them i never opened an account and asking how this happened without me showing prof of id and forms of id. They said they would look into it. I asked for statements as i had a statement sent to me that someone put money into it and withdrew money as well. They wouldnt give me much info since i didnt open this myself. Im really upset and unsure how someone opens a checking account in my name- without proof of id amd Im not sure what other info is out there in me for identity fraud.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23, I called Bank of America at XXXX to inquiry into secured credit card offer. Before proceeding, I asked if the card could be expedited. I was informed it could be, which resulted in my application and subsequent approval. After making my deposit, I was informed the representative had been incorrect in their initial presentation. I made clear to the rep that the ability to receive the card expeditiously would impact my decision to apply. I was either misinformed, deceived and/or scammed into opening a credit card account. Upon requesting cancelation and a refund, I was informed it would take up to XXXX business days. This allows the bank to make whatever interest off the money they deceptively acquired from me. The bank refused to honor what they originally promised, and only educated me on their policy after the fact.

Consumer Complaint: I have a Bank of America Mastercard. Today, XX/XX/2023 our card was declined during a purchase for the 3rd time due to " fraud protection ''. The purchase was for approximately {$22.00} and, again, our card was declined due to potential fraudulent activity. We live in XXXX and shop for groceries across the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. We routinely shop at this store. Today I answered the call immediately and authorized the charge. Over half an hour later Bank Of America had not yet reactivated our card. I just spent over 45 minutes with customer service who could not transfer me to a manager. They can not explain why this is happening. We can not buy our groceries if our card is declined. We are humiliated when the card is declined for no reason. I want to see my contract so that I can take appropriate legal action and they will not send it to me.
