Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I opened a credit card fraud claim with Bank of America after I noticed 2 unauthorized transactions on my credit card on XX/XX/XXXX : {$200.00} and {$12.00}. On XX/XX/2023, Bank of America rejected my fraud claim stating that my physical card was used for the transaction, indicating " you or someone you allowed to use your card was present ''. I explained that I was a victim of a fraudulent taxi scam in another country I was traveling in and was used unlawfully. My card was " rejected '' by the driver so I was told to pay in cash. Only to find out that my card was skimmed. I discovered that 2 unauthorized transactions were made to my credit card as a result of this situation.

Consumer Complaint: Im having problems dealing with the company Bank of America. I have a mortgage on a property at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Ma. A XXXX XXXX tax payment was missed last XXXX. When I went to pay taxes online the taxes were no longer there to be found. I assumed it would just be added to my next real estate bill. ( My real estate taxes last year were, {$6500.00}. ) On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a bill from Bank of America, my Mortgage XXXX, saying I owed {$3200.00} which I then paid online on XX/XX/22. I received another bill for {$2100.00} which I again paid online. This totaled {$5.00}, XXXX. I talked to customer service and was told my payment would revert back to the normal monthly payments. I paid my usual {$960.00} then I checked my online bank statement the next day. I saw that Bank of America had taken {$3100.00} which was most of my Social Security check. I never gave Bank of America permission to remove this sum from my bank account. The total amount I paid to Bank of America for XXXX was {$8.00}, XXXX. I called my bank, XXXX and they said Bank of America has no authority to go into my bank account. I talked to the XXXX of XXXX Treasury Department. They said they did not give over my real estate bill over to Bank of America or place a lien on the property. The XXXX Treasury said something seemed suspicious and I should contact the Attorney General ( which I did ). Bank of America appears to have taken out an escrow account without my knowledge or approval. I have talked to numerous Bank of America Customer Service XXXX but cant get any concrete information. My mortgage payment has gone from {$960.00} per month to XXXX per month. No one can explain to me how that was determined. This payment seems to be set to continue for the next 15 years. Property taxes are paid twice per year in XXXX and amounted to {$6500.00}. I need guidance and help with this matter. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: I had a business transaction with a company called XXXX XXXX to sell them some household items. They deposited {$4500.00} into my account on XX/XX/XXXX, sent a copy of the transaction, and Bank of America reflected the amount in my bank account. The supposed representatives of XXXX XXXX in Texas claimed an accounting error and requested a refund of the deposited money amounting to {$3300.00} to be deposited through Bank of America. The money was returned to them on XX/XX/XXXX via a XXXX transfer that Bank of America authorized because the amount still continuing in my bank account. On XX/XX/XXXX, the supposed company mistakenly deposited another sum of {$4500.00} again, but this time the Bank of America stopped the transaction because it was a check and email me to explain the situation. The company stopped communicating after explain the BOFA hold the second check, and the money continued to be deposited into my account until XX/XX/XXXX, when Bank of America withdrew the funds because they could not find the account. This situation has been very complicated because Bank of America claimed to have credited my bank account, leading me to believe that the transaction had been approved. If the bank knew it was a check, why didn't they hold the first check like they did with the second one? These kinds of gaps make small contributors victims of criminal networks of scammers who impersonate identities. Bank of America claims the victim 's problem is that they never led me to believe the transaction had been approved, but the money was in my account for almost six calendar days. Bank of America has all the possibilities to hold a check until it verifies that it has funds and not reflect them without certainty. Now I have suffered significant financial damages. I am a small contributor, and that money was all I had to cover my personal expenses. I hope that justice is served and that Bank of America acknowledges its mistake and refund my money lose, reports the BOFA accounts of scammers it harbors in its bank, and halts its users on XXXX.
